Rumor Mill (TAKE WITH GRAIN OF SALT): Marvel vs Capcom 4 revealing at PSX/Capcom Cup

Look at the product Street Fighter V. Think about the bullshit apologies Capcom has given to their fans throughout this year. Think about what we see Ono doing to promote Capcom games. He endlessly trolls with his little Filipino McDonald's Blanka toy. Yes, he does more than that, but that's what we see. I think Combofiend does something in San Mateo, but exactly what he does I don't know. I don't know where I'm going with any of this.

They'll probably reveal something cool, but it's evident that the fans sure would like this (MVC4) to be real. Just remember it's Capcom so I wouldn't get my hopes too high.

Needs Professor X. I need someone in a wheelchair I can relate to in video games / movies / TV shows.

Something.

Just give me Zero back without lightning loops.

Prof vs Belger.... make it happen

Deadpool is way more popular now than he was when Marvel 3 came out. I'd be surprised if he wasn't in.

I'm just going to completely assume the worst with the roster and anything that Marvel doesn't have movie rights for wont get in, and we will get Gwenpoole instead.

And be happy when I'm hopefully proven wrong.

im glad you admitted this lol.

If Punisher is in then they have to get Jon Bernthal to voice him. He was simply perfect in that role.

i'd love for them to get the mcu actors of course but it's highly unlikely even outside of monetary reasons such as scheduling if they ever wanted to do DLC or something.

The TV MCU actors could be within reason....somewhat (I know they got Coulson, Fitz, & Simmons' actual actors to voice their characters on Ultimate Spider-Man), but the movie MCU actors are definitely out of the question.

I don't think I want any of them in this game lol.

Maybe Robbi Ghost Rider if he count's I guess.

He would actually make a really cool character.

Oh shit. Jems? Gems? People thought SFxT, but what if Thanos is the final boss? I imagine Marvel is trying to promote him.

lol, they better give him a new moveset then

msh/mvc2 thanos moveset just looks so, so stupid

like yeah his supers look cool but then you got the really retarded looking headbutt and the bubble

i guess that theyd probably rework most of the big guys movesets anyways just b/c shit like spiderman and ironman having highly technical movesets/gameplans goes against popularity picks

How's he even supposed to fight? Is he just a brawler? I imagine the bubbles aren't the extent of his "powers" lol.

every comic i've ever seen him in he's just a brawler, yeah

iirc even without the infinity gauntlet he beats the fuck out of the hulk and thor so i guess he's just got that generic kind of megastrength/durability

i think he can shoot lasers out of his hands/eyes too but idk. dude doesn't have any kind of definition in terms of what he can do

if he has the infinity gauntlet his powerset is literally 'manipulate reality' which kinda ties into his supers from msh

so extrapolating off of that you'd see variations of him 'creating' stuff to attack with or giant shows of power like the power gem ball super

I was mainly referring to the possibility of Quake, Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), or the Netflix characters showing up.

They better bet trying to promote him. He's the ultimate villain as far at the cinematic universe is concerned and he hasn't done shit yet.

Also on the note of combofiend taking on a bigger role. I mean as far as SFV is concerned the gameplay is pretty damn great. So if he had a hand in that and can translate that into Marvel, another game he played. I'm game.

All that other shit as far as planned modes, MT etc was probably out of his control.

So, in total, (U)MVC3 cost over 50,000,000 to make?

I know everybody is busy laughing at your extra zero, but honestly there's probably a lot of cost on top of that 5 million. There's the creation of the actual game engine and rules, non-character assets, voice acting, music and sound design, licensing, marketing, etc...

I mean, that's overly simplistic, but yeah, MvC3/UMvC3 collectively cost a hell of a lot more than 5 million dollars to make.

As Neoxon said, I think they should be able to get some actors from the TV side of MCU. No way they could afford actors from movies though, I agree with you on that.

Do you even math?

I've already acknowledged my mistake there. I recently woke up from a nap when I posted that, so my head wasn't entirely clear.

Well since we're talking about voice acting again, I'll just copy and paste what I said yesterday

On one hand, MvC3 isn't THAT old and it would make sense if they wanted to save money and just reuse voice samples (and MAYBE bring in the voice actors to record a couple new intro lines like Ultimate)

Back when MvC3 was announced and the first footage was shown, they actually debuted new voice actors for the Marvel characters who would later voice the characters on Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes which wasn't out yet. I still remember people ripping on Brian Bloom's Cap for sounding like he was "mocking" the original MSH/MvC's Cap voice. Good times.

But NOW, they seem to have new definitive voice actors now. I'd imagine they would likely replace Greg Ellis with Trevor Devall for Rocket, Rick D. Wasserman with Travis Willingham (Guile!) for Thor, and Eric Loomis with Mick Wingert for Iron Man (Adrian Pasdar is on his way out supposedly). But there's a couple that's going to be awkward.

Roger Craig Smith is THE voice for Cap now, but his Cap sounds almost identical to his Chris Redfield
Laura Bailey is THE voice for Black Widow which is just a slightly deeper, more mature sounding Chun Li (assuming BW gets in which is certainly possible)
Troy Baker is THE voice for Hawkeye now, but it sounds identical to his UMVC3 Nova

On the other hand, who knows what they'll do for Spidey. USM is ending, and the new show will likely have a new voice which will probably debut here.

Also, I notice a couple pages back people suggesting the idea of Gwenpool replacing Deadpool. On one hand, what I've read of the character has been really underwhelming. She just feels like a creatively bankrupt "me too" answer to Harley Quinn combined with the idea of "Hey, you like Deadpool? Well here's Gwenpool, she's like Deadpool but AS A GIRL" But then, I've only read her in Howard the Duck and that one Christmas Annual. I haven't read her own series. On the OTHER hand, if Marvel is really bringing the ban hammer down on "Fox" characters INCLUDING Deadpool despite his enduring popularity, I could totally understand that, and that could be why she was created in the first place.

Actually, with the new Spider-Man cartoon coming out, perhaps they can pull VAs from that show if the Avengers Assemble characters overlap with others. But remember, Avengers Assemble is gonna keep airing, so Adrian Pasdar is still gonna voice Iron Man in that show. The new Spider-Man show that'll replace Ultimate Spider-Man is in a separate universe.

As for Gwenpool, she's a far better character than she has any right to be.
