Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

What in your opinion puts X above XV?

I've been playing FFXV every day since November 29th and I haven't done that in a long time. I get excited about the game as I think about it during the day and I can't wait to get home to play it - like I did when I was in high school or as a child!

I've already beaten the game, but the post-game content is like a game in itself!

Story-wise, X is told far, far more competently than XV. Things are explained for the most part, there's emotional stakes involved, and there's many more character moments to flesh them out.

Also X has Auron who is the best character that's ever come out of FF.

A couple people have theorized Tabata would add another phase to the final boss in NG+, among other things. I personally don't think it needs it and am quite happy with it as is, but wanted to see what everyone here thinks.

The final boss is fine as it is. Perhaps it can be made more difficult, but no more phases are needed.

I think it desperately needs one. 1 minute of real fight before the game enters a "O to win god mode" phase, (last phase doesn't even count as a fight imo) is shit for a last boss.

Yes
I want to see him transform into something more grandiose

Noctis had a part time job at a sushi restaurant when he was younger. I like how they portrayed him as a prince who wants independence form the royal family and lives as a normal citizen.

Its amazing how much variability in experience something can produce.

This game's been making me depressed and bitter ever since I beat it.

Haven't touched it since.

But I am glad others are happy. The world is bigger than one's narrow perspective.

I mean, I understand it's a departure to not have some elaborate god-form, but I personally loved how it went down. Be interesting to see how they handle NG+. I hope they ramp up the challenge, I don't wanna stomp through everything.

I don't want it him to have some monster form or anything, I'd just like him to take more than a few hits before the game forces me to win the fight.

LMAO.
I mean I like Auron but.....

Yeah there was something missing from that fight but I'm not sure if Ardyn turning into a monster is the solution. I think having a fight in that other realm would have been cool.

But I am glad others are happy. The world is bigger than one's narrow perspective.

What a pure and wonderful post.

Thanks.

I am here to try to find good things to like about the game.I amnot trying to be endlessly negative.

& So far others have pointed out a lot of good story things to me that I didn't get & I appreciate it more.

I really appreciate you've taken that stance on the game. It's a good perspective to take. I hope as more people explore the world they are able to learn more of the world and maybe get something they didn't expect from it!

The game makes me depressed.

Depressed At work, because I wish I was playing it instead. :(

Weren't they just referring to his involvement in the original FFXII: International on PS2?

Yes, they could very much mean this when asked about Ito's role. I will find you the interview link later (at work now).

Here is the interview:
http://www.usgamer.net/articles/how...zodiac-age-is-getting-the-band-back-together-

USG: Does that include [original systems designer] Hiroyuki Ito?

FFXII: Yes. The basis for the new remastered Zodiac Age is the International Zodiac Job Version, which was never released in North America or Europe. Ito-san is actually heavily involved in the re-balancing of the game, including the battle parameters and the placement of shops and treasures and such. So, this is really a culmination of Ito was able to do.

Thanks.

Like PshycoNinja said that is a good approach to have but it's also okay if you just don't like the game. I'm currently playing TW3 and I'm not really feeling it but I've been continuing to play it to try see the good things it. I don't think I'll ever replay it once I'm done though.

I wish I could have roamed around World of Ruin just taking on daemons like Iris.

If there was anything that disappointed me in XV, it was not making the World of Ruin longer. When Talcott was driving and you saw all the deamons it was cool and chilling at the same time.

I don't want it him to have some monster form or anything, I'd just like him to take more than a few hits before the game forces me to win the fight.

I fought him around the recommended level and I found it challenging without being obnoxious. Even died.

First and second phase, not third :P

Yeah I had done quite a few side quests so I was mid 50's and nothing was a challenge at all during the story (fuck me for playing your game, right, SE?). I wouldn't mind if they just maybe completely scaled him to your level, perhaps 10 levels higher at all times. That'd be nice.

Be nice if they scaled all the bosses, tbh. Have a minimum of what is now, and only go up.

Hm...now that I think about it, you do have to fight the eidolons before you can use them in XIII. Just like in XV.
That's not restricted to the FNC series. Some summons, in other games, could only be obtained by battling them. FFIV, you had to battle Odin, Leviathan, Asura and Bahamut before you gained them as summons. FFV, you had to battle Shiva, Ramuh, Leviathan, Titan and Bahamut. FFVI, you had to fight Tritoch, Ifrit and Shiva. FFVIII, you had to fight Ifrit, Diablos, Bahamut and Odin. FFXII, you basically had to fight all the summons to gain them. And it isn't like, in FFXV, you had to fight every one to gain their abilities. You don't fight Ramuh, Shiva or Bahamut.

I'm all for it! It's just something else beautiful to look at and it will add to the bestiary in an already amazingly bestiary-filled Final Fantasy game!

The game makes me depressed.

LOL me too!

People have explained to me Ravus,Ardyn's intentions & after rewatching Luna scenes I appreciate her more.

Especially Ravus is interesting.Yes there aren't a lot of cutscenes ,but there's enough in the game to know what really happened to him.

The little consistency detail with Tenebrae & the Luna's stewardess from the movie suprised me!

Lol Nice!

How did you feel about the Ravus fight? I thought that was probably the most challenging storyline-boss and I was in the early level 50s. I had to use Phoenix Downs and High Potions on the boys a lot.

Prompto > FFX Cast > The Rest > Trash > Vanille

I still like Auron though.

Another reason I'm curious to see how they'll handle NG+

Yeah that could've been so much more. For a second, I foolishly thought we were gonna get to see some of the other characters like Cindy or Iris. I kept roaming around Hammerhead hoping to find someone else. lol

Pretty easy. Although that's probably my bad because I'd just warp strike him to death inbetween Quintcasts, Overwhelms and Armigers. If I gimped myself I'd probably take a little longer.

Prompto is your favorite character in the entire series ?

On what basis ?

Coz he's cool and fun. Mainly talking about the main party though.

What's great about him is he's silly, funny, grounded, and joyful. Something I didn't find in the other FF games. Though I still put FFX's cast up there namely because I thought Yuna is one of the greatest female protagonists in FF. I like Lulu because she's very smart and mature.

I'm actually a little upset there aren't any more 'Apocalypsis' variations. I think they're my favorite songs in the game. Would be great to hear Shiva, Ramuh and Bahamut versions.

did 2 of the menace raids. I love the idea of room after room of fights, but since the enemies seem to be the same room by room (like, here's a few bombs, then a few more, then an elder coerol, and another, and another 2, etc) it can get kinda monotonous by the end of them. Still a decent challenge though. Don't see how the hell i'd ever be able to do Costlemark though (guess that's why its a lv.99 raid)

about to ascend the Rock of Ravatogh, which I honestly think should have been a story dungeon >.>

I think Rikku fits this too. She's kind of like the female Prompto in that you can have a really deep (but missable) conversation with her in X-2 that I really enjoyed. It's a shame that people write her off as dumb blonde bimbo.

I haven't played the game yet. Does the vocal version of Somnus from the reveal trailer of Versus XIII from 2006 play in the game at all?

Yeah.

He's funny and jovial yeah ,but he doesn't nearly have the qualifications to be considered greatest in the series.

He also became a little bit too one note after the first 30 hours in the open world.

I could see prompto being a supporting cast favorite, however.

Yuna goes through massive changes & development.Easily the greatest FF female, yes.Crazy good character.

I mentioned in a previous post, but X has my favorite character moments in any Final Fantasy. And by that I mean character interactions for fleshing out personality and backstory.

It plays when you're Insomina.

I like the female cast of FFX and X-2 actually. Probably my favorite female cast in the FF series.

It just hit me, all 3 supporting members were hit/hurt in the way that they supported Noctis. Ignis always watched out for him and went blind, needing people to look out for him.

Gladio was a bodyguard who, out on his own needed guarding.

Prompto was just a best friend, who was struck by his best friend and left all alone.

Deep...thoughts...:)

So can anyone tell me why the name switch? I'm lost... And I hope there will be an update that expands on that story 2000 years ago!

Yuffie, Selphie, Rikku and Vanille wish they were as great as Prompto.

Rikku was my favorite of those 4, but Prompto snatched that crown right off her head.

I feel like this game attemtpted to merge a open world with huge dynamic set peices and combine them into an RPG and I think ultimately for a first try they fucking nailed it. I'm dissapointed some scenes ended up not as over the top or intense but maybe they couldn't quite nail it. That one scene with Noct warping to a buidling as the other falls apart blew me awayn in a early trailer. Still super happy with it and my GOTY. I hope to see another attempt at a style like this for FFXVI

This is confusing to me as well. My only guess is that Ardyn wanted to use Izunia's name to do bad things, and make him look bad? But even that is entirely guesswork, and has no basis other than "it makes sense, sort of."

Prompto is definitely the token energetic girl in this game, isn't he.

Did the cast of FFIV, FFV, FFVI, and FFXII have a "Yuffie/Selphie/Rikku/Prompto" in their group?

Prompto is definitely the token energetic girl in this game, isn't he.

Fo sho. Like Gladiolus is the Auron/Steiner/Snow of the group and Ignis is the Lulu of the group.

That's great to hear! And yeah its small things like that that make me appreciate the little stuff.

Hmm then how did the Lucis Caelum name get to Noctis family lol. I want this answered and closure Square better have a free expansion to explain that. This is bad story telling and makes me feel the game in incomplete when they were on to something.

Noctis' family aren't the original Lucis Caelums. Their ancestor (presumably Izunia) stole the name from Ardyn. It seems to indicate the god's chosen line, as well as being king of Lucis.
