Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

This isn't confirmed nor is it the only possibility, unless I missed something.
I never said it was. It just seems the most plausible based on what we know.

I mean, you were stating it as if it was fact, so I thought I'd clarify for the person who asked originally.
I wasn't, hence the use of the term presumably.

Edit: Oh, I see what you mean, about not being the original Lucis Caelums. You're actually right about that - my bad.

(I still prefer that theory though)

I think Luna could have used more scenes per chapter... especially like the one where she heals that man. A detailed view of her journey per chapter would have been enough I think and not just vague visions.

The narrative is an absolute disaster. Don't come with bullshit excuses like "this is Dark Souls type of story telling". Lmao.

It fails in recognizing important story telling developments. It just throws them around like insignificant situations that are just addressed superficially (or not even really addressed like the Emperor "he died in his way back to his planet" death).

I can't believe that with all the tecnological resources 2016 can bring this game is a narrative mess. FFVI and beyond are screenwriting masterpieces compared to this mess.

Ugh I am mad lol.

In the middle of the 6th Sealed Door dungeon (Steyliff) - I didn't know it's supposed to have 100 floors, but luckily you can save when using camps. I'm glad I didn't have to leave my console running when I went to bed.

I think I'm around 60-80 floors in and the dungeon itself is by far the worst Sealed Door one so far. The previous ones were boring with a few sets of enemies per dungeon and everything looking the same. This one not only has 100 floors, but also introduces Tonberries, which hit like a truck, but also take forever to kill (lv 99, adamantite bangle, legend weapons etc.). Even my power 300+ spell which breaks the 9999 damage limit barely does anything to them. I actually ran out of my 99 elixirs, but luckily I still have 80+ hi elixirs on me.

I'm not worried about the 7th dungeon, but reading that the last one not only has 60 floors, but also disables all items makes me want to skip it without even trying. Especially since it's in the Tower, so you'll have to go through all of it again if you die before the first camp.

I haven't even started any of them and highly doubt I even will but definitely have no desire to do this one or the tower at all. It's not like you even get any special rewards for doing them so there's literally no point other than challenge/bragging rights and I never go for that shit in FF games anyway (well rarely).

Haha, join the club. I was beyond bewildered when I finished the final boss. Bewildered and disappointed all in one flavour. The supporting cast of this game is really what killed it the most because we never get to sympathize with them in full. Villains are thrown out of the picture left and right... it's really jarring. No closure for the supporting cast and simply no closure or build up to events like the Starscourge and Ifrit.

Would have loved to post this in the "For Jared" OT but I guess it is kinda spoilery...

It was posted by someone in the Prompto photo thread.

That the game even makes photos of that place and like this is hilarious.
Do we have selfies with Luna getting stabbed in the background too? :D

R.I.P Jared. You will never be forgotten. :(

I think the only FF game where I did all the side stuff was VII (maybe VI too) and I recently cleared all of them. Didn't expect to play XV for 100+ hours, but I liked regular side dungeons so much, that I was extremely excited for Sealed Dungeons. I did all the sidquests (including Legend weapons) and most of the hunts, grabbed 3 ribbons etc. to prepare myself, just to see that SDs are just a series of rooms and corridors. That said, since I already cleared 5, I might as well do the last 3, especially since 7 seems to be normal. I feel like I'll just give up on the last one, but who knows.

I keep forgetting Nyx was a character from Kingsglaive lol

Makes the part where you get the ring really anticlimactic in game since Nyx was destroying with it and you were struggling to suck life from Goblins.

Ok so at the end King Regis is voicing a letter?

Dearest Luna,
You did well to...to deliver the ring to Noctis.
Wayward though my son may indeed be...
He has made me proud.
May you two know happiness.

So what's the deal here? He wrote a letter as a ghost to another ghost? Did he show up to the wedding or was he too busy off doing other ghost stuff?

I just finished the game. Overall I really loved it and the ending with Noctis and Luna plus the FF theme playing was wonderful but I honestly was shocked how messy the story was. I still barely understand half of what transpired. I feel like they didn't do a good job setting up big story aspects and honestly the brotherhood stuff I liked but most characters in the game suffered because of it. They should have had Luna, Iris and Ary join at points to flesh them out. It could have made the ending so much more bittersweet. Ignis and Cor are bae's.

Still, this game was addicting. The open world was fantastic, the callbacks to previous entries was my favourite and the summons and their fights were mind blowing.

Also I swear to god Luna's death was similar to Aeris's even down to her final scene lol and then Noctis doing the feather grab was so VIII like.

Holy crap lol.

Final Fantasy 15.

15 chapters.

QUICK, someone do a meta-analysis of the game and a chapter-by-chapter breakdown..!!

Anyone already thinked that maybe SE trolled themselves by doing Chapter 13 the worst of all, making it tedious, boring and onrails precisely because is the chapter number XIII?

Taking as premise that the game coencidently has XV chapters.

Between:

(edit: Actual tagged spoilers here. Just in case)

9 being about royalty who also happens to be an oracle and her ability to commune with summons, highly divisive

10 being a glorified on-rails corridor

13 being divisive as to reception

I'm not sure if this is commentary on the chapters in FFXV or commentary of the entries in the franchise anymore.

14 is defined by epic boss fight against a summon

15 seems well received by people playing it for the full context, not so much people watching just the ending.

You're slow :V

(I submit that 15 has changed a little; this was posted in the impressions thread pre-Nov29)

That whole scene was an unearned mess and the letter was the stupidest part. Fuck you Regis! Too good for a ghostly appearance! Luna who? I see you shoehorning the new logo in SE. Where are the bros? I'm not buying that they made it through the end.

I give FF15 a 8/10
positives
+ best character chemistry expanded by all the side quest
+ best main villain
+ best ending
+ best post game/side quest up to 5x longer than main story together
+ best dungeons, very fun to explore
+ best chocobos
+ songs from almost every prior ff was nice fanservice
+ Fishing
+ best shiva ass
negatives
- main story is very minimal besides the very end
- guest characters are cool but leave very quickly
- dungeons are shoved to the side and not made required in the story all with some having no royal arms due to the story freebies
- You can progress the main story before noct finds all 10 arms making later scenes look lame and a major final one mean a bit less
- weak final battle

Traded in my copy today, got 40€ from it thanks to a promo Gamestop has currently (last day).
I paid exactly 40€ for it by preordering the game from Unieuro (plus, I used a 15€ discount voucher I had, so actually I paid 25€ for it), so it was a great deal playing the game for free.

I will probably buy the game again in the future if:

-it will release on PC Steam
-it will release with all, and I mean ALL dlcs included
-it will release with a budget price, like 30-40€
-if SE manages to actually fix the game properly by introducing cutscenes and characters etc in order to give a sense to the plot filling the so many holes in and there
-if SE will manage to fix the bugs, because the game often glitches so you can't interact with anything, you can't turn the visual. Plus that jump button.

Yeah, Regis is ,ultimately, a complete bitch!

Even Luna had a more important role & achieved something in the story.

Regis did nothing but stupid decisions, then died anyway.
😂

Funny thing is Nyx was still OP even after he took the ring off and gave it back to Luna.

Kingsglavie in a way kills Noctis achievements of using the ring when Nyx was able to summon KOTR by telling the kings to fuck off instead of sleeping in a crystal for ten years and begging your dad to help in the end

Nyx fights fate, trash talks the kings & does what HE felt he wanted to do.

Noctis succumbs to(or embraces if you wanna be nice) his fate & does what the crystal & Ardyn ordained for him.

Its an interesting contrast.

did steyliff sealed dungeon last night. so annoying, flans were too aggressive for me to use ring death consistently and ring dodge takes too long imo, so i had to use quintcast magic. crazy how tonberrys put the fear in my heart: if i got to the entrance and peaked around the corner and saw like a bird or a psychomancer i would just bum rush in, but if i got to a room and saw 4 tonberrys just chillin i would wait a couple seconds to mentally prepare myself lmao. annoying dungeon but i kinda enjoyed it 💫

Remember the Omega weapons, Ultros, and the cool armored general in Kingsglave? Yeah, none of them are fightable in the game. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I sort of expected to be fighting 100s of guys in that armor by endgame.

This is how I imagine the Izunia took over the line of kings. "Right guys! You don't know me, but I know you, and this asshole's been taking daemons into himself and that shit is not cool!"

Ahha nice, shoulda figured..!! I am but a mimic. *weeps*

I also think with 14, you coming into a ruined world only to fix it makes for a decent analogue to FFXIV's restructuring lmao. CONNECT ALL THE DOTS, ALL OF 'EM, muuahahah!!

It take back everything I said about the game having a weak final boss theme. After listening to it out outside the context of the game I can safely say Magna Insomnia is amazing. One-Winged Angel has nothing on it (I also kinda dislike FFVII, Sephiroth, and One-Winged Angel in general, not hate but its like an 8.5 maybe even an 8 definitely not a 10 and nowhere near the best Final Fantasy game so that may color my opinion a little).

Man I remember back in the Versus XIII trailers when I thought Stella was gonna be not only the love interest but the antagonist too. That would've been so cool.

When it comes to sheer composition, Magna Insomnia is on a whole new level from One-Winged Angel.

Of course, I absolutely ADORE One-Winged, but I think Magna Insomnia is better from a composition perspective, no doubt.

lol, don't know if it's true but Gladio vs.
Gilgamesh
wouldn't surprise me. The ultimate clash of egos. XD

That was honestly what excited me most about the project in the first place too. I've made my peace with it though. Ardyn made up for it some by being a great villain. I guess if the rumors about Versus are true we would've been disappointed anyway though.

Magna Insomnia is awesome, but I think I like Hellfire just a bit more.

I'm firing Bahamut. I demand he be out of my PS4 by noon, or I'm calling the Dovahkiin.

Too many violations of our Awesome Summons agreement. Let's list them off:

* NEVER, came to save me apart from that Ifrit battle I had but....

* He couldn't even do THAT, and Ifrit got right back the fuck up with full health!
Bahamut, just what is it.....that you do here?

* Right after I get his Mark I'm subjected to 10 years in a crystal. Thanks, Bahamut! That should have been a fire-able offence right there! You know what with screwing up the Ifrit battle, not ever coming to aid otherwise and then THIS? How are we sure this guy isn't colluding with Ifrit and Ardyn?

* False advertising; I was expecting a super large dragon thing and all I got was some dude in an armor that kind of looks like a dragon. Where the fuck is his MegaFlare? Ultima Sword? Get the FUCK out of here!

We all know Ramuh, right? Ramuh's an upstanding guy. Comes to work EVERY. DAMN. DAY! And he's probably 10,000 years old! Still kicking. Give that dude a fuckin' raise!

Fuck Bahamut!

Fuck Bahamut!

I laughed so hard at the bolded. I've summoned him like 10 times and Leviathan once and that's it. No one else has helped me. Also, Bahamut looks like a megazord.

tips for beating adamtoise? i'm assuming it's mostly just time consuming more than tough. whats the fastest way to kill him?

Ignis Level 10 soup, requires fish from Myrlwood dungeon. Gives 100% critical rate. Items that boost attack or MP usage (such as those magitek boosters). Hit his face until your MP is almost out, warp to a rock and rejoin the fray. Took me about an hour and I was level 90. You can also bash the legs, and he will eventually fall for a limited time.

I found it a little overblown in context, this highly dramatic music underscoring a fight which is much less fantastical (by intention) than a lot of final bosses in the franchise. On its own, I like it a lot more, some very nice variations on Somnus (although I don't think it beats the same composer's "Darkness of the Unknown" from KH2).

Still, it doesn't come close to overthrowing VI's "Dancing Mad" and there's other final boss themes in the series I either like more for taste reasons (IV, VIII, XII) or consider more skillfully written (XIII).

Regarding the summons, you can scratch Ramuh's supposed requirement for long battles out of the book.

Three times he has come to my aid immediately after a battle starts. As in, the battle kicks off and instantly I get the summoning sequence.

Either he's completely random, or there's some hidden requirement. But it's definitely not the length of the fight.

Bahamut made a disinterested guy just casually casting fire shit while lazing in a chair start parkouring like his life depended on it.

Some things money can't buy.
