I didn't catch all that Jimmy Smits character was talking about when he mentioned the clone wars. Was he talking about Obi Wan or someone else?

Pablo Hidalgo confirmed on Twitter that Vader's lair is actually on Mustafar.
I wonder that now the precedent has been set for CG recreations of characters to appear -- do you think it'll be hard for audiences to except young Han and Lando? Alden and Donald are phenomenal casting choices, I hope that those in creative control have faith enough in the performances to recreate these characters -- and don't go overboard touching up their features with post effects or extensive makeup work. I think I would have been more comfortable with new casting for Tarkin considering the bulky role he had. This might be going a little too far, but I'd probably be okay with an impersonator taking over for Vader in the future, I love that James Earl Jones is still doing the role and I feel bad for even suggesting that he be pushed aside but you could hear his age in his voice, which is inevitable but still a shame -- is he better in Rebels?
Going straight to Yavin 4 would have risked exposing the entire rebel alliance. Who knew if the empire had put a tracker on their ship, or could tracked their path.Yes, Obi Wan, and his adoptive daughter, Leia.
To be fair, that seems like a bit of a shoe-in, though.
Like, Leia chose to send a message / the plans Obi-Wan because she knew he lived on Tatooine and they were being boarded.
I don't see why Obi-Wan had to be involved / mentioned, when the original plan should have been: Get the plans from Scarif, take them to Yavin 4 for analysis.
Not knowing that Vader would catch up with the Corvette around Tatooine, why would they even think about involving Obi Wan. Why not involve him at an earlier point in time?

Lea probably wanted to get away fast and check their ship for tracking devices. Maybe they even wanted to change the ships id so that they could hide even more. Like hide it as a diplomat shit by getting cover for those in the ship.
Struggled to understand donnie yen very often
re: CGI characters, what does this mean for the young Han Solo movie?
Are they gonna try to CGI up Alden Ehrenreich to look like young Harrison Ford for an entire movie?
That would be... crazy, right?
My brother didnt even know Tarkin was CGI. Im interested to know if people who arent familiar with SW notice the CGI.
Technically they didn't recast Mon Mothma for this as it was the same actress cast in the role from Revenge of the Sith.Read my above posts as to why Tarkin and Leia were CGI while others weren't.
They didn't apply makeup or CGI to Ewan McGregor either, Mon Mothma was tastefully recast as well.
If the acting, the makeup, the costumes, dialogue and direction are good, you don't need prosthetics or CGI to get the audience to understand who the character is supposed to be.
Don't assume that what was done in a film that is a companion piece to another, that literally takes place at the same time, at some of the same locations, would serve as precedence to what they'd do in a film that is set in an entirely different place, tells a different story, from a different time.

They had a stand in Tarkin in one of the final shots of RotS as well, right? Not that I remember dialogue or a close up, but I believe he showed up.
I always thought the fish-like alien was Ackbar, turns out it wasn't him.
I just got back from seeing it. There are a few things I liked about but overall it was pretty terrible. I can't believe some people actually like it more than The Force Awakens.
The horrendous CGI on Tarkin and Leia almost ruined the movie for me. It completely breaks the illusion and magic of watching a film when the only thing you can concentrate on is how fake it looks. Just leave those characters out of it if you can't do them CGI.
There were some very cool locations and a few interesting characters (all the interesting ones died though, so whatevs).
That's Admiral Raddus, inspired by Winston Churchill.
He's supposed to be a Mon Calamari from the cold region of their planet...hence, the different skin color.
At least he pulls off some nice tactics instead of stating "It's a trap!".
Jyn >>>>>> Rey
also the pragmatism of Cassian shows how much Rebellion ain't fooling around and that's something fresh. K2 wasn't a retread of different robot tropes, instead he's his own character. And again, it didn't ape ANH but rather fleshed it out.
The color leaders weren't the same guys (in-universe I mean) right? Since I remember one of them dying in the base dogfight.
So maybe my brain isn't working, but who is the "Jedi that helped him out greatly during the Clone Wars" that Jimmy Smits was referring to when talking to Mon Mothma when they decided to help out with securing the plans? He mentioned a 'she' so it's maybe some Clone Wars animated show character?
Jyn was flat and delivery was bad. Maybe the script didn't give her much to work with. I don't know. I didn't like her. Cassian was my favourite character in it but I didnt believe his change in tact to helping Jyn, it was a bit sudden and strange. Just for the sake of moving the plot on. And he should have had a better death rather than miraculously get to the top of the tower and defeat the villain with a single shot. It was just a bit silly.
I liked the Rebellion being much more fleshed out. I can't believe I'm saying it, but the politics of the Rebellion was interesting.
It was supposed to be Obi Wan, but I don't recall them interacting at all until the end of RoTS.
I could have sworn he referred to the Jedi as a 'she' though in that exchange though. Though I could have misheard. Test dialogue exchange kept bugging me the rest of the movie, kept guessing who Smits was talking about.
Btw, Blue 1 was the moustache general, right? and he's the one to have the fleet move to ... uhm ... Plan heist planet (i keep forgetting the name)

Red 1 and Gold 1 were the same guys as in episode IV. Both died in Battle of Yavin. Blue 1 died in this movie.
she starts out really dull but I feel she gets going in Jedha. She goes from the rebel not being about her to being about her connection I feel was done well. At the very least, she had a stake in the plot which makes me like her more than Rey.
Yeah him suddenly going alive was lame, but he dies anyway so I guess it's okay lol
Ahh right, I guess they managed to escape before Vader's battleship came in.
Hmm wait, wasn't Vader also participating in the dogfight, or was it just a trooper? Since I thought it was the same look Vader had in ANH.
Is Obi Wan in this?
Or just mentioned?

Nope, Vader was never shown to be in a TIE cockpit. Maybe, in the grand scheme of things, the fact that he personally uses his own TIE advanced to fend of the Rebels should still be something special in ANH.
It was VERY cgi ish and very distracting.
They try to make Tarkin human so he overacts and over tics to the point where they really need to dial down his facial mannerisms about 50-70% and tone down all the distracting face movement so it looks real. The final shot of him shooting off the death star has that atypical villian pose, what with they even placing him/sceneing the CGI character so you get the atypical villainous glint in his eye and that arched brow from an CGI film. Bad bad bad. No human actor will do that. You'll spot it more once you know what to look for. Everytime he was on screen, I was like urgh.
CG Paul Walker looked better than CG Peter Cushing and CG Carrie Fisher.
The Jedi is Obi-Wan, the "she" is his daughter. They're talking about two individual people.
"i would trust her with my life" is what he says last, i think.
It's basically "yeah, we should take the plans to Obi-Wan Kenobi - and the person who should take them there shall be my daughter, princess Leia"
It's the whole reason she's part of the fleet that comes after Rogue One.
