Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

I'm 41 Hours in and i haven't even started with Post-Game content, n'or did i do the high level hunts.

Randolph + Shadows of lucis Quest lines will surely take another 20-30 Hours

Holy shit... I was just exploring Duscae with my sweet little level 68 and guess what (phone screen, sorry for the quality)?

This game is really full of surprises... but I don't like this one very much at the moment ha ha, this thing is destroying me, guess I have to run away...

So what was up with the Demon Wall-esque monster in the World of Ruin near Gauldin Quay? You can't even go back to kill it and it's level 80+.
Narrative device to show you that the world has gone off the deep end.

My friend clreared Pitioss in 4 hours yesterday evening, watched the whole thing as a veteran of the damn dungeon.

I left when he was done with it, then he went to the car, DIDN'T SAVE, to fly directly in the mountains.

Game went back to the last checkpoint, no black hood. :lol

Killed Adamantoise. Took maybe 50 minutes of spamming Dawnhammer/Armiger Chain. Had to use perhaps five hi-potions, but otherwise his attacks couldn't do squat to me. Wasn't hard, just somewhat tedious.

LVL10 Survival left for the platinum.

lol, I'm so glad I read about saving after that dungeon. The way the car is parked means you'll always crash it on takeoff unless you backup, which is insanely stupid.

Finished it! What a great game, really loved it. Still lots to do on hunts, too.

I'm pretty sure everyone has said what need to be said. Rushed, a mess, etc, but still lots of heart and fun.

What's weird/hilarious to me is how Emperor Iedolas was just offed and identified in an offhanded comment during battle. He's one of the very early characters we see in Versus XIII, had quite a role in Kingsglaive, too. Dead offscreen and killed in a "Huh I think that's the Emperor" manner.

What did you think about the ending?

They also follow up on the conversation a bit later.

The characters in this game are truly amazing.

Whaa sweet lol!! Will definitely look out for that one. xP

Yeah exactly, the VA's and writing bring them to life so endearingly. Even if any one aspect of the game falters for me, the bros and their brotherhood is one that'll persist.

So a while ago someone had mentioned a bit of dialogue from the guys in the World of Ruin that stated Ardyn should be remembered alongside the other kings of Lucis, but I've yet to see anything confirming that. Is it safe to assume that was never said?

The only thing of the sort that I remember was inside the Insomnia Palace. If you look up to the Cosmogony painting with all the Lucian Kings of old at the top, one of the bros (Or Noctis himself, I can't remember) will point out that Ardyn should also be there in the painting. Another bro (Gladio, I think) will remark that he never could've thought Ardyn was of Royal blood.

He did exactly as I did. I regret it fondly.

Anyway it was fresh in my memory, so I made it again in like 1 hour or so.

Oooh, so it's real then? That's a really cool/important piece of dialogue I missed. Gonna try to trigger it next time I feel like going through the end game.

I wonder if there are any implications there regarding Ardyn being part of Noct's line.

Yeah, it's real. I saw it. I thought it was very touching. Despite what Ardyn did to the entire world and his loved ones, Noctis still feels pity for him. You can tell Noctis doesn't hate him. I believe it is Noctis the one who comments on the painting.

You have to look up in one of the final rooms before the Throne Room, in fact I think it's the previous one.

What did you think about the ending?

It felt really great and satisfying. Upon checking I'm sure we'll find some stupidities here and there, but overall I'm very satisfied with it. It's great seeing an ending that doesn't try a sequel hook or building universes or anything. The final battle was great, too--never thought it was Ifrit the one we fought in prologue. Noctis vs Ardyn felt more like a ceremonial showdown than a true final battle but that's kinda expected.

But in the end it's the four bros--the scene where it shows four empty chairs on a campsite got me feels.

They could've removed the Coleman logos from the chairs on that final scene, though. XD

But yeah, I agree. The ending was fantastic, and easily one of my favorites of all time.

I was already laughing when I've seen his clothes on the throne. Gone like in a Hannah Barbera cartoon. Like that. Lmao

Yeah it's really stupid lol. Thankfully I saved my game immediately bc if took me like 5 hours to clear that dungeon, then I crashed the car trying to take off lol. Damn mountain!.

FFXV: Great FF soundtrack, or greatest FF soundtrack?

I love Shimomura but for some reason, the soundtrack isn't that memorable to me. I barely remember it playing most of the time. The Cleigne battle them is amazing tho. I feel like the world was too quiet. Needed more music out there like xenoblade. One theme at night, one in the day for the different sections of the map.

I feel like the weird sound mixing had a lot to do with that. I grew to appreciate it more after I started listening to the music at work.

Could be part of the issue. I've been listening to it on YouTube some and am appreciating it a bit more. I still think the town themes mostly suck though.

Yeah, Altissia was lame. I keep going back to the overworld music, battle music, and more specifically the final boss/character themes.

Eh.. I love the Altissia theme.

Lestallum's theme, on the other hand... Catchy, but it's very repetitive.

What's the best way to power level? I saved all these debased coins because I heard they were useful, but I'm not sure what to do with them.
I finished the game at lvl 52. Great ending even though the story was fragmented.

Great, but not the greatest. It doesn't feel cohesive enough.

I have to agree. At first I was among the outraged crowd, when one reviewer called the game's music "unremarkable", then I played the game and now I get why one would think that.
There was some amazing music made for this game, some of the best and most memorable tracks of the series fo sure...but as so many other things in this game, in the actual game you don't really notice it that much and some music never even played in the game. The music you hear in the game is mostly lowkey and repetitive. I really think they dropped the ball especially in the towns and outposts. The background music is very generic and it got on my nerves after a couple of hours. There's absolute silence when you drive in the car unless you turn on the radio with past games' OSTs. The two beautiful field exploration themes hardly ever play and often get interrupted once they started. Only the combat music truly stands out as well as some of the tracks playing in bigger cutscenes later in the game.
Overall the soundtrack feels like a weird, kind of mismatched blend of several music styles and the best music you don't even get to hear that often. :/

I was level 43-ish? and going after the level 54 snake to get an upgrade part - as if that wasn't enough of a challenge, the same decided it wanted to keep dropping in a level 72 mech out of nowhere...

Yeah, I like the "generic and repetitive" tune. I think it's very charming.

No need to put that in quotes. ;) It is repetitive and generic. It's the stereotypical music that plays in Paris, Venice and Rome in every cheesy film ever. Are you from Europe? For most Europeans it's torture. XD

Caem definitely had my favorite town/outpost music, most of the others I found forgettable.

I really like the simple, melancholic yet peaceful tone of Noct and Luna's themes.

The music during regular combat and boss battles is some of the best in the series for me.

Also Florence FTW. <3

I was remembering when Tabata said the game was mostly about the relationship between Noctis and his father. Well... ok... ehm, perhaps he forgot?

There's more than one. It's just a regular enemy in WoR area. Killing it doesn't give you anything really. I spent about 20 mins killing it, and then encountered a 2nd one a short bit further down the road and said FUCK THAT.

Is the shrinking daylight tied to how long you mess around before going to Altissia? By the time I got around to the lighthouse, the daylight was down to about 5 hours - which was pretty annoying for questing because I don't like running around in the dark. I finished the game and went back in time and since it put me back right at the lighthouse before I left, I still only have 5 hours of daylight.
If I rushed to that part of the story, would the days still be longer, or is that tied to the chapters and not how long I spent in game?

Daylight is tied directly to the story. Going "back in time" basically puts the world at the end of Chapter 8. Daylight usually lasts 5 hours at that point in the story. I don't think there's a way of getting longer days after that point.
