dude has spoiled almost everything...
You stepped into the wrong thread, mate.
I don't know, it made their presence seem kind of weak. Like up until the Master Switch part it felt like Chirrut and Baze really didn't have any thing to do or any real goal besides shoot at Stormtroopers. Jyn and Cassian have the data to get, K-2 has to protect them while they do so and Bodhi has to protect the shuttle then eventually set up the transmission to the Fleet.I never got the impression that Chirrut was doing it for revenge. I don't think the audience needs a blatant reason for Chirrut to join the fight. He's a deeply spiritual man who is deeply connected with the force and the ways of the Jedi. The empire is in direct opposition of that and just wiped out his holy city. We can infer a lot from his character without needing to be told it. His first proper introduction is him taking out some stormtroopers to save Jyn. So we know he already is opposed to the empire. It would be jarring if he didn't join the final battle to stop the weapon that destroyed his home and mecca. And Baze just goes where Chirrut goes like Chewy just goes where Han goes. But I wouldn't be surprised if he just wanted revenge.
There is it's calledI really want a video game now where you play as Vader and wreck fools. It could be real fun. Battlefront doesn't count.
Yup.is it Chopper from SW Rebels ? ( Yavin 4 base )
Does anyone think if Thrawn is still alive during the events of Rogue One? If so, why do you guys think he was not in the movie?
Is Rebels worth checking out?

Chirrut has nothing for a while until he has a switch to flip and Baze has even less than that. Ultimately they feel like they had no purpose at the end.
Overall I think in terms of characterization and motivation I think this movie was lackluster. Say what you want about Rey but at least you could understand her as a character. Same with Finn and even Poe despite him being in so few scenes.
Did anyone come into the movie thinking the whole cast was going to die on screen?
ILM's working on a Vader VR game. That might be what we're looking for.
Agreed, as cool as Thrawn is I'm pretty satisifed with how they did the Imperial Leaders and Officers.Hoipefully. They had a fair amount of Imperials in the film already, they didn't really need another.
I guess I'm bothered because as character concepts they're both really interesting and there is a lot of potential they could have done with them but it really doesn't go anywhere. Them being just another body in the headcount for the mission would have been fine if they weren't hyped up and given such prominent roles.I don't think they all need a role like in a heist movie. They're the firepower, the front lines, the damage dealers. Theyre not there because they are crucial to flip a swtich, they are there because they want to fight just like the other Rebels joining them. Every soldier counts in this mission. Baze and Chirrut are the DPS and I'm fine with that. Remember they went into it not really expecting reinforcements.
Yup.
Is Rebels worth checking out?
UNFORTUNATELYis it Chopper from SW Rebels ? ( Yavin 4 base )
No.Do you guys think the Rogue One writers took ideas from Halo just like Halo writers took ideas from Star Wars?

In the old EU he was out in the unknown regions at this time, but who knows what Rebels will end up doing with him.
Cassian isn't the first Rebel to go dark...

Tarkin. Leia. Vader wrecking fools and his lair on Mustafar. All the characters dying. The shades of grey in the rebel tactics and how they're willing to do the dirty work that we've never seen in the films before.
Quite a few things.
Was he though? I thought he wasn't out there until ESB.
hmmm guess the harsh rebel tactics was new, and so was mustafar lair, but im not a huge SW nerd so that didn't really feel like anything substantial.
Vader was confirmed a while back though? Wasn't he in a trailer. And the movie has the death star, tarkin not being in it would be a twist.
Still feel like a movie that 'spoilers' wouldn't have affected my enjoyment or lack of enjoyment of the film.
The movie is good not for revelations, its just a great 'world war 2' flick.

No, I love Star Wars a shit ton and enjoyed most of Clone Wars but Rebels is pretty terrible. Every season has about 4 really great episodes, though.
I think Tarkin is so important to the story given how close this is to ANH and the focus on the Death Star they almost had to have him. I do wonder if they'll go the old lucas route of tweaking the home releases, and update the cgi on Tarkin and Leia as the technology improves.
I think Leia shouldn't have turned round, as for some reason her cgi was particularly bad. Maybe they didn't spend as much time/money on it as they did with Tarkin since her scene was so much shorter?
Ah Ah that's awesome !!
It's ok but it's not something mind blowing ( Chopper is the best droid ever though ), I don't like the fact that episodes aren't connected for the most part, I love Star war The Clone War series better.
You're talking shit, I thought Clone Wars was sub-par at best that only really started to save itself in the last seasons. Rebels is great from day 1 and only gets better.
Fucking excuse me?
Can we please talk about how amazing that new Outpost looked where Almost-Kyle-Katarn got the information on the Deathstar? Even while it made zero sense and most likely would be destroyed in days?
Just saw the film. It was...okay. It's better than the prequels and VII, at least. So many bad decisions, though, and lots of wasted potential. Way too many problems to actually call it good.
- Oddly poor performance from Forest Whitaker, such a good actor, but mumbles all of his lines and has some really phoned-in delivery.
Completely disagree with this. Krennec had a lot of subtle development. It was clear that Krennec and Galen knew each other on some personal level and it was made clearer when you could see Krennec in the flashback to Galen when he was still willingly in the Empire. He had a clear conflict which was to finish the Death Star, plug all the info leaks and still keep the project under his control and get the credit and accolades for from the Emperor. Even more you could see he harbored some disdain for Galen for leaving him.Krennic, likewise, was okay but forgettable. Just a made-to-order "villain" with no depth or special quality. Unfortunate.
