Let's not get crazy here. It was still light years ahead of any game
uncharted had more realistic mocap performances; their faces didnt move all over the place all the time. Real people's facesn't don't move this much.

You don't. Just like you leave the Wilhelm out of this movie.
I'm surprised to hear something positive about the 1st half since that's what is the most bashed aspect about the movie.
I think it would be really odd to only show the back of Leia's head.
What they should have done is have her speak, then show a shot of her face looking hopeful at the end. The CGI didn't look too bad when the characters weren't speaking.
So just got back and man I really loved it. This was better to me than The Force Awakens. When Donnie Yen's character was dying, my eyes just started watering, I couldn't help it. If this is what we can expect from these self contained stories, then bring it on. I'll be going to watch it again in a few days.
Boy, Han and Vader could have been tight if Vader just knew that his childhood bully was offed by this guy...
Then Vader would be like "No shit! By the way, that gold protocol droid? Is that C-3PO?"
"Fuck, yeah man. Why you ask?"
"Oh shit! I built him when I was 10!"
"No fucking way! Shit... well you want him back?"
"Hahahaha naw bro. Here let's get you out of this torture chair."
We have no reference to compare the other races to. We know how a human should look and move. You see motherfucking aliens and starships and a calamari talking snd you guys complain about Tarkin and Leia
My girlfriend also didn't notice that Tarkin was CGI and just thought they found a really good lookalike.
I think only those of us used to this stuff noticed.

So was that massive temple structure on Jeddah made in the likeness of Obi Wan??
Can we all just take a moment to be happy for Jimmy Smits? He's finally in a good Star Wars movie.

It's just some Jedi.

The only problem I had with the movie was the Tantive IV launching from the cruiser, plans on board. Vader very clearly tells Leia in ANH that the plans were transmitted to the ship: "Several transmissions were beamed to this ship by rebel spies. I want to know what happened to those plans."
It's as glaring a misstep as Chewbacca ignoring Leia at the end of TFA.
Otherwise, loved everything. Great movie and by far the most beautiful Star Wars film. Felt like the best of the Clone Wars show & EU books. Great stuff.

Just realised... the chances of an Alec Guinness Force ghost in episode 8 just massively increased. The force ghostyness could help mask the uncanny valley aspects..
Wish he had more lines but yeah good for him. Now if only Ewan Mcgregor could be in a good Stars Wars film. His vocal cameo in Force Awakens doesn't count. Can we all just take a moment to be happy for Jimmy Smits? He's finally in a good Star Wars movie.

I'd prefer them to just age up Ewan. It was a bit different with Tarkin, what with only Cushing really playing him.Just realised... the chances of an Alec Guinness Force ghost in episode 8 just massively increased. The force ghostyness could help mask the uncanny valley aspects..

I'm watching TFA right now and the movie is so visually bland compared to Rogue One. The visual information packed into every frame in Rogue One was an amazing treat as a SW fan. The character and set design was fantastic
I swear I heard it, but that was probably me just wanting to hear it, lol.
Most people didn't even realize Tarkin was CG until people tell them the original actor died in the 90s. It really isn't that bad.

TFA is still far more visually interesting and accomplished versus anything else but Empire..
I could not disagree more. Visually interesting in what way? This is the best-looking SW movie ever, in my opinion. Just talking aesthetics and visual detail.
I could tell the moment the mouth opened. They tried their best, and I won't knock them for giving it such a good effort, but it was clearly CGI.
And there was something really off about Leia's eyes.
Wait the cantina guys were in Jeddah and Jeddah blew up...
