Anyone recall if Leia's theme played when it showed her? I was too busy cringing at the CG I guess.
I got more feels with Jyn seeing her dads message on the hologram than I did any of the emotional beats in TFA
It didn't. The film's finale is on the Soundtrack as "Hope," and it's not in there.
I don't know if that makes any sense or if I should just go back to this way of doing it.
Most of the acting was b-grade shit as well, i blame this on the horribly written lines they were forced to say though.
b-grade horrible

B = Horrible.
You guys are weird.
That shot looks really, really cool.
But I don't see how that would've made any sort of sense for the road of events to lead up to it, and how it would've been concluded. I guess if the AT-ACTs were in front of them as more Shore/Stormtroopers come from behind? ¯\_(ツ_/¯ I know I'm not creative enough to come up with anything but it strikes me as nonsensical.
Cool.Nah, to each their reach. If it works better for you to go in w/ no concept of the music before it hits your ears in context - do that!
such a waste of good actors.. i felt embarrassed for them
A bunch of nerds talking about a new Star Wars movie in an off topic section of a gaming forum. It's gonna be sketchy.
You guys are weird.
What happened to?THE POWAH
If you mean of the Dearh Star they mentioned several times they were only firing with a very small portion of its power
There's always that one guy with his arms crossed and a frown in every movie crowd. I wonder if they all post on GAF.
Loved the movie, but CG Tarkin was really off-putting. Looked like a stop motion wax mannequin of the actor, or maybe I'm being hyperbolic.
Didn't mind CG Carrie Fischer.
Were 3PO and R2 supposed to be aboard the Tantive IV?
What happened to?THE POWAH
It seems the entire finale was played out differently. The whole rebel fleet thing and space battle were likely not in the original version of the film, the plans had to be ran across the field (same as in the Battlefront scenario for Rogue One), where a ship is waiting to extract the plans off the planet.
It's clear the finale was not to take place on that tower, there is lot of footage and pics of the data being carried out of the base and being on the beach, with Krennic even being on the beach and fighting in the water too. The whole structure of the finale feels like it was altered since you could literally just erase any scene where characters on Scariff mention the "fleet battle" above them, and you notice that the two battles have really nothing to do with each other. The whole shield gate aspect for all we know was added in later to create a convenient way to add a whole space battle to the finale while only needing to alter some of the ground scenes to fit the new finale
-To go along with the above, Vader's "quip" about Krennic choking on his words. If I were the type of person always cringing at stuff, it would have made me cringe. I get too many quips from Marvel movies as it is already, as soon as it happened I thought 'Yep, Disney was definitely in charge of this film.'
Kinda surprised to see the angst at Vader's choking line. He used that kind of sarcasm all the time in the OT, as has been pointed out repeatedly. Was it because he made a pun?

I love these takes where people are bringing hot fire as such.
"THE LIGHTING. HORRIBLE. PRETTY MUCH THE WHOLE SCRIPT. B-GRADE"
Dude what.

I might have gotten there...but the dad's message was drawn out way too long, and we spent way too long zooming in slowly on her crying face. I don't like sad scenes where they're too obvious about what emotion I'm supposed to be feeling. Add the generic sad music they queued up and I was out.I got more feels with Jyn seeing her dads message on the hologram than I did any of the emotional beats in TFA
Yes. For me, anway. The pun made me shuffle in my seat. Thinking back on the film, I would have gone bananas and cheered if the first time we were introduced to Vader was the hallway scene. Have Tarkin summon him as we heard in the film, then when we get to that scene and the saber kicks in...bam. I would've loved the already great scene even more. But I'm sure most would be pissed to have so little screentime for Vader.Kinda surprised to see the angst at Vader's choking line. Probably. Imagine if in ANH he had said "Don't FORCE me to change your mind!" or something to Motti.
What are you talking about, b grade is a legit term for low production. You can't tell me you liked heavily lit, super flat Vader.

I'm talking about the fact you very obviously have no real idea what in the fuck you're talking about.
Stop fronting.
I don't know, maybe it was because I was already put off by his voice that the line got to me.Vader makes quite a substantial quips in the original trilogy, too.
So after seeing this does this change anyone's feelings on the Han Solo standalone? Or really just the standalone idea in general?
nobody knows more than you.. you make sure of that with every post
You seem to have a problem with people holding a different opinion than you about movies. Why do you take it personally? Not everyone is gonna like Rogue One. Why be a dick about it?I'm talking about the fact you very obviously have no real idea what in the fuck you're talking about.

I can mostly agree here. The framing in particular I loved the hell out of, especially with Vader keeping his back to him as he choked him. It lost me RIGHT at the end. Something about Vader's helmet looked...off in that scene. And when he turned to the right and lifted his head up to deliver that line, it made the helmet stand out even more. It looked too long at the neck and really bugged me.I didn't think his line here was THAT bad lol
But I guess I can see a case being made for it. The execution was good though.

Lava planet castle... seriously? Horrible
man this was terrible
struggling to think of anything i liked about it
