Came back watching 10am show. I was literally exhausted after watching it (and having a big meal afterwards), I fell a sleep and just woke up.
Loved the movie. 1st part was okay. I can definitely see why others would mention that it doesn't work or what not... but after seeing the ending, it just felt a bit pointless to dig into each characters stories.
I do have an issue with K2 though. I loved the droid, but seeing that droid hitting, killing other human beings - it rather made me uncomfortable. Looks like Disney's droids have much higher sense of self id, such as chopper and K2. R2, of course was feisty one, but I don't remember R2 shooting a blaster to kill another human being.
Also loved every bit of cameos in the movie, as much as some were pointless - such as Mos Eisley duo, and R2/3PO scene - but seeing all of them, in bits and all, were still very nice and kept me aware for the duration of the film.
Darth Vader did sound a bit older, but still it's that commanding voice of JEJ, which I loved - I would not have any other way. Costume, I noticed that gap around the neck but didn't bother me too much either. Vader-castle seemed a bit overly done, but well, who knows what goes inside of Vader's mind, especially choosing to live in Mustafar, where he lost his limbs and wife! LOL.
But the final scene... Vader wrecking havoc, I literally wept with nerdgasm, and in the end of the movie during credit, I had to hide the fact that I had tears in my eyes for reasons that I do not know.
One thing I don't get though... is why Organa and Mon Mothma are looking for Obi-Wan's help though. Leia was in desperate situation when she reached out - not sure going to Tatooine was her original intention - I thought she was going to Alderan or Yavin after getting that plan, and was pursued by Vader, and had to evac at Tatooine - maybe she knew Obi-wan was at Tatooine from Organa? Was she supposed to "pick-up" Obi-wan after retreiving the plan from Rogue One on the way back? Seems like too much risk to take for one person.
From my point of view, Organa and Mon Mothma was looking for help to destroy the Death Star from Obi-Wan. Delivery of the plan, I thought, was Leia's part, and reaching out to Obi-Wan was to come 'after' delivering the plan to rebel base.... and the purpose of reaching out, somehow got missed...
