Rogue One: A Star Wars Story |OT| They rebel - SPOILERS

Leia and Antilles claim they're on a diplomatic mission, like they didn't participate in a major assault on an imperial base just minutes earlier. Like the Empire didn't just watch them escape! I'm sure there other inconsistencies too, but that's enough for me. Rogue One and ANH don't make sense together. They just don't. If people want to justify this schlock by saying it makes for a more exciting movie this way, fine. Whatever. People think the end of RotS is amazing, so clearly no one gives a shit about Star Wars making any goddamn sense. Just gimmie them lightsabers bruh.

Leia is bullshitting Vader, Vader clearly knows they're bullshitting, and he uses their bullshitting as leverage for the Emperor to dissolve the Senate. That was part of Star Wars long before Rogue One came along.

I do wonder what Leia was even doing hanging out in that battle at all, though!

Phantom Menace or TFA (TBD)

You really wrestle with which of these is better? :lol

How many times has anything "Whills" related been mentioned in canon now?

That's the first time for the movies, right? I think it may have come up in Clone Wars. I'm not sure about the comics/novels.

Here's the ranking
-Empire
-Force Awakens
-A New Hope
-Return of the Jedi
-Rogue One
-Revenge of the Sith
-Phantom Menace
-Attack of the Clones

Yeah, that's what I'm feeling.

Sometimes. Don't like Abrams and tbh that movie aint so hot on rewatches for a long ass stretch between running into han solo and his death

But then the other has the Gungans and Anakin lol. Gotta have a good tolerance for schlock to really appreciate the positives that phantom menace brought with it.

Fwiw I think kylo will end up being the best star wars villain in no time. Driver killed it.

I think she wasn't meant to be there and just got caught up in the entire fleet rolling out.

I assume R2 and C3PO were with her and they were all like "woah wtf, why are we going to Scarif?"

Official Star Wars Ranking
Cutscenes from Lego Force Awakens
The Phantom Menace novelization
Caravan of Courage
Menu screen from Star Wars Battlefront
Star Wars Holiday Special

The official ranking is

1) Knights of the Old Republic II
2) Knights of the Old Republic
3) "Who gives a shit?" - Harrison Ford

I wished they could have used donnie yen better. The few fight scenes he was in were the highlights of the movie that really lacked a good lightsaber duel.

Donnie Yen Vs. Vader would have been awesome

It would have been just as easy to write an ending that left the original intent intact without fudging it to fit their new canon.

Its still fits the original intent. Remember in ANH when the empire was worried about what the senate would think for capturing leia? And Grand Moff Tarkin saying they don't have to worry because the emperor absolved the senate.

It still fits imo.

I remember back in the early 00s there was some Star Wars vs Star Trek site that was run by a guy who seemed a bit of a dick on his forums. Practically everything there was based on skewed math that almost always favored SW and happily used any bits of EU as canon while holding ST to the strictest standards. I'd hope that guy isn't still so obsessed, but if he is, I wonder if he's a bit upset at all the absurd EU power levels just being cast aside with the new canon. Stuff like a Star Destroyer getting shredded in half in a low speed collision with another one probably would have driven him mad in the old days.

Hallway scene is the most menacing Darth Vader has ever felt, very well done. The first 3rd of the movie felt a little hard to follow but everything after they land on the jungle planet is excellent.

Never mind number 8 for one second...
Episode I better than Jedi, TFA, and Rogue One?

My jimmies have been thoroughly rustled.

I have to re-watch all of the films but I'd rank the movies with regard to fun as follows:

The Empire Strikes Back
The Force Awakens
Rogue One
Revenge of the Sith
Return of the Jedi
A New Hope
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones

To clarify, this order only means that I have more fun watching one of the Star Wars movies over the others. As for ranking the movies in terms of quality and which I think are overall better, I'd go with:

The Empire Strikes Back
The Force Awakens
Rogue One
A New Hope
Return of the Jedi
Revenge of the Sith
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones

This really is Trump's world now isn't it.

I'll be honest. I don't like Jar Jar as a character.

The reason I like it is mainly because he pisses off fans. I never had any problem with him. I don't like him, and I don't hate him. But the way the mere mention of his name pisses the hardcore, that's why I like Jar Jar. :p

Sure, I'll do one too. Preparing for the little star wars cred I have to vanish.

ESB
ANH
TFA
Clone Wars TV Show
R1
ROTJ
ROTS
Rebels TV Show
TPM
AOTC

Hopefully we can all agree that AOTC is the absolute worst star wars thing in existence. I'd rather watch the christmas special again because at least it's comical.

Is Thor 2 your favorite MCU movie don't answer I know it is.

Where have you people been hiding though so many prequel threads and no one comes in and says the things being said the past few pages it's like an organized on attack on everything sacred in Star Wars.

Brandon still sucks though he started this nonsense.

I usually swing either way on those two, I think the nostalgia factor in The Phantom Menace plays a part, first Star Wars film I seen on the big screen. I'm still amazed that people can place Clones above Menace, they're entitled to their opinion of course, but it still baffles me. Attack of the Clones is dire on every level.

I had to edit into a list since I missed that you had Jedi before New Hope. Which I can't really agree with. Still commendable with all this honeymooning going on for Rogue One.

The prequels, while crap, still have a huge sentimental value to me as I grew up with them as a kid. They're bad, but I could pop them in and still enjoy myself.

Nah, because Thor 2 doesn't make people angry.

And I'm ALWAYS there in every prequel-related threads. Others can vouch for that. I'm one of the biggest prequel lovers in GAF, but that's because I love all Star Wars films, no exception.

I've warmed to Jedi in recent years, (I used to rank A New Hope above it) it's still a very flawed film but when it's good, it's great. The climactic moments are incredible, between the space battle and the Luke/Vader/Emperor showdown. It's got one of my favourite trilogy moments too with the short scene between Luke and Vader on Endor.

Even though to me, I don't really see a reason to rewatch Episode 1 or 2 again, ROTS at least feels somewhat connected to Rogue One.

Haven't seen the Christmas special but Attack of the Clones was so bad that I didn't even bother to see Revenge of the Sith in theaters.

Attack of the Clones is extra painful. Maybe I was being hyperbolic about putting it alongside rogue one. Just this movie ended up feeling so dull to me I got shook

Now that we have TFA and RO, it really does make Episodes 1 and 2 not even feel like its the same universe. Maybe its just me.
