ah right, recent port

the SE store version isn't a steam key I take it?

It is a steam key but you can't refund it via Steam. So you're stuck with it if you don't like it. I dunno if there is a refund procedure via the SE store (prolly not).

Whoa. The Void is back on Steam and only $1.99.

Man, Steam sales suck so much now. Like, I know a lot of developers are on this forum, and I'm not knocking the fact that you aren't doing some sort of absurd discount. I want you to be able to sell things at a price that helps you keep the lights on and live well. I am specifically lamenting the loss of daily and flash deals which made the whole process so much fun.

I used to have a blast checking Steam each day of a sale, just to see what limited time offer I might grab. A lot of times, I would try to find something to buy each day which lead to me buying things I would never look at now (The Longest Journey series is a great example of this). Now their is no joy to it, and the deals are lackluster so I end up walking away empty handed.

Does anyone else think Steam Sales seem to get lazier every year? There's Cards and a bit of art that doesn't even cover the whole background, and that's it. It's not even christmas themed art, it's to do with the Steam Awards thing.
They just put out a massive update to Dota, so big that it has required a handful of smaller hot fixes since. That's their priority. This is more of an obligation than a priority.

Spending money is never fun for me. Neither is having to keep track of daily deals and others. This is easy and convenient, and makes the whole process as painless as possible. I far prefer it.

-50% everywhere in my wishlist.
At least my wallet is safe for a while.

The only -67% that I want, Bully, doesn't work properly on Windows 10. :^)

A couple of interesting indies for you to take a look at.

Sethian is a sci-fi puzzler, which sees you talking to an alien computer in an alien language, attempting to find out what happened to the aliens. But first, you'll have to figure out how to even talk to the machine. It's a fascinating little game that sees you challenging the aliens philosophy and concepts in an attempt to understand them. It's not very flashy, but if you're after some intriguing sci-fi mystery and want a real brain tester, I'd highly recommend Sethian. Just look at this gameplay.

Seraph is a side scrolling/character action game that sees you controlling an angel and blasting your way through a variety of procedurally generated levels. It's main appeal is that you don't actually aim in the game. You instead have to focus on acrobatics, dodging and bursting and rushing through the corridors and wider areas, evading enemy attacks while using your abilities to get them into the right positions and finish them off. It's a really stylish looking game, and the feeling of cartwheeling over enemy attacks and shooting them full of bullets is pretty good.

Wow, Seraph looks really nice! Thanks for the share!

I'm fine with no flash sales, but I do like how Steam used to have arg's and get us to actually play the games we bought in order to get the holiday items some of them would include.

I have nearly 100 games on my Wishlist, and out of those, there's maybe 2 that seem like good enough discounts to actually get. Most of them are the same discount prices as usual, or are actually in some cases more expensive than usual.

I was hoping to get the Elder Scrolls Online. It's been £6.59 before, so i expected it to be £5 in this sale, which seemed reasonable. It's £9.99.

Yeah, I have a pretty long wishlist and not a single game is at a "new low". Indies seem to be holding off on the big discounts. Good for them...though it means I hold of buying, for the most part. Particularly since they still wind up in bundles.

any story-oriented or art-based games that you guys reccommend? just wrapping up oxenfree,

looking for things like Abzu, firewatch...those styles and artistic games :)

anyone?

No dailies or time-limited offers?
Same discount for the whole sale?

Once the discounts all appear after this initial setup server issue period, yes, it should be the case that games are the same price the whole sale. It's possible award winners will have a deeper discount if they win, but we don't know for sure.

What's going on with Steam? Wow..this is really like losing my virginity..I can't get in and I'm confused of what's going on.. *sniffle sniffle*

If you like reading, check out The House in Fata Morgana. No gameplay, but nice art and a phenomenal soundtrack.

My cart:
  • Cities: Skylines
  • Final Fantasy V
  • Pony Island

Now deciding between Xanadu next and Phantom Brave. And looking for something good/great <7,50€.

I mean it's a gamebook, so presumably if you like that genre and you like Judge Dredd it'll be OK.

Don't have an opinion to Judge Dredd and no use for a gamebook. I'll pass. Thanks.

So wtvr happened to that weird Bioware stream and the 5 free gifts they promised to give out? Did they just cancel that stuff or has it not been revealed yet?

I'm probably going to pick up a bunch of the final fantasy games I am missing, Been meaning to get them for a long time now.
