Fuck the Ewoks, they have no bearing on the best SW movie in existence.
Side question, but I don't know where to ask this. Are planets like Tatooine and Corsucant destroyed in The Force Awakens?

They never said where it was in the movie, period. And based on the previous films, it's fair to have assumed it was Coruscant. They never said the place was Coruscant.

Nope, never said the name in the movie. All that happens is you see an urban planet destroyed, then Finn says "That was the Republic!" They never indicate in the movie narrative where it was.I'm pretty sure they said it was Hosnian Prime.
Why would you assume that? Star Wars blows up planets all the time. It was confusing after the movie online, everyone was asking if it was Coruscant or not.Wouldn't the more logical assumption be that this is a new place in this new system?

How big a fan are you of the Expanded Universe? I've noticed that people who generally only like the movies didn't care for Rogue One, but people that have been really into the Expanded Universe material of novels, comic books and video games dug the hell out of it because the focus is on the world building and military action that takes precedence over the Skywalker storyline that the movies follow specifically.
Saw it a second time today. Movie still holds up.
Ive seen it in 2D and 3D now. I actually think 3D adds a lot for this movie.
They said the name once, but it was really quick, so I don't fault people for being confused. I was, too. I thought it was Coruscant. The problem is that it was named AFTER it got destroyed, so as soon as you see it, you start thinking, "Oh man, that's Coruscant!"Nope, never said the name in the movie. Didn't like it that much. Aside from the visual spectacle, I don't feel like I want to see this anymore. The first part of the movie had a very interestig buildup, but then the second part was just really predictable, no suspense, not anything. They just go there and start dying because they have to.
That's the plot>character coming into play and why I didn't like it. The movie is telling me to feel things without earning it.
Weird
That's exactly how I would describe TFA

I'm still salty about the pilot's death. He was just waiting around in the ship and one asshole lobs a grenade at his feets without even knowing he was in there. All the others I can make my peace with it but him, I can't accept it. He got captured, treated as an hostage, mind raped and this is the end he gets. He's like Steve Buscemi in the Big Lebowski.
How do you incorporate that detail without tipping off the fact you're getting Leia at the end, though?
Same reason Mustafar is the only planet not named.
Welcome to the resistance.I just saw it. I'm baffled with the reactions here. I thought it was one of the best Star Wars Movies. Yeah, the start was abit slow but man it was good.
Most reactions in here have still been positive.I just saw it. I'm baffled with the reactions here. I thought it was one of the best Star Wars Movies. Yeah, the start was abit slow but man it was good.

the empire occupies jedha for the kyber crystals
just like bush invaded iraq for the oil

They did nothing in my opinion to make me give a shit about anyone. So when they actually died, I didn't care.
Coworkers said they were tearing up when Donnie was walking up to the button and I was like "why? because he has a catch phrase that he repeated all movie long?"
People have been 50/50 on characters it was weird the first time I saw it i was like oh well but I saw it a second time and the feels hit me for some reason can't explain it hahahaThey did nothing in my opinion to make me give a shit about anyone. So when they actually died, I didn't care.

That really bothers me.
In RO you go "huh that planet looks like Mustafar, must be Mustafar" turns out it is Mustafar.
In TFA you have planets that look exactly like Tattoine or Coruscant and serve the same purpose but aren't.
That's confusing for most of my friends
Destroying Coruscant would've had a much bigger impact than destroying not-Coruscant
I'm still digging two tubes really liked that character was hoping for more scenes of himMan one thing I really loved was Saw's group,
I always said if I was in Star Wars as a rebel i'd steal and wear customized Imperial gear.
(barring something like personal Mandolorian armor)
Dude with the black scout helmet looked awesome.
