I had no idea this was a thing on steam. More devs should do this

This would be a good trend.

Mom got me one of these for $54 on clearance at Walmart for Xmas. Not great but for $54 it can't be beat...

Acer Sky Blue 11.6" R11 R3-131T-C1YF touch screen 2-in-1 Convertible Laptop PC with Intel Celeron N3050 Processor, 2GB Memory, 32GB eMMC and Windows 10

I manage a RadioShack and it's normally slow as hell. So I'm looking for some stuff that would play halfway decent, in like RPG and strategy.

Yeah, I understand it's going to be old stuff, and that's ok. It runs like Icewind Dale and Baldurs Gate just fine.. I also already have knights of the old republic 2 on steam.

So thinking RPG, civ type, maybe builder game..... Is there anything like a more recent Master of Magic?

For a more recent Master of Magic, Age of Wonders Shadow Magic is a good choice and should run on that. There's also Dominions 4: Thrones of Ascension (or Dominions 3 for something cheaper) and Disciples II, which is less than 1€ right now.

There's a great looking Dell 24 inch 1440p (for that amazing PPI), 165Hz G-Sync panel, but alas...
TN
QA issues
pixel inversion

All G-Sync IPS panels have QA issues as well, not to mention severe IPS glow.

All G-Sync VA panels are curved, which is a non-starter for me

It's like all the monitor makers don't wont my money.

I had the same problem just last week >.<

I was looking for a monitor with similar specs as you, but either they were too expensive or had something is was not happy with.

Ended up buying LG 24GM77 for 277€ after i sorta stumbled on it while checking the reviews randomly. Seems to be a pretty good monitor looking at the reviews, but it's only a TN screen and 24" @1080p (144 hz though).

Well it's at least gonna take 1 more week for it to arrive , i hope it is as good as it's supposed to be.

Thinking of picking up a Steam Controller. I play a lot of strategy and 4x on steam. Anyone have any impressions of Endless Space/Legend with SC? Or Age of Wonders 3 or Kerbal Space Program? Could I add GOG games to steam and use it with them?

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is now in our Sale! And it's cheaper than anywhere else! Grab it now before time runs out! http://bit.ly/2ijSDoI

...its 30% off lol >_> the fuck GMG

Keep at it. If you have any questions, or need suggestions on configs you're working on, please let me know. The SC thread is full of good ideas and information, i recommend checking it out if you haven't already.

the thing about the steam controller is that you have to tweak it if you don't like it, the controller just has so many options, I don't think it's just the matter of getting used to it, your personal preference might be different than the people who upload those configurations, I dislike like most of the configs I've downloaded lol, even if it's just a few minor differences

What are the graphic options like for FF XIII-2? I have the game on my PS3, but if I can get it running at 1440p and higher than 60fps I'll dump $10 into the PC version. No point though if the options just aren't there for me.

Honestly switching back to mouse for endless legend was a worse experience. Controller so good there.

Right now I have Braid, Gemini Rue, Rambo, Teslagrad and Ben There Dan That on my cart. Cheap things that I can put on my backlog with no remorse.

But I'm debating with The Void. I know it's a weird game that got re-added to Steam recently but I don't know anything else. How does it play? Does it have combat? Is it really 30h long? Would you recommend it?

Thanks!

Sadly, nothing has yet topped Master of Magic even after 20+ years IMHO. The closest "modern" similar to MoM is still Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. I think it's $2.50 right now at the sale?

Is Crysis 2 worth it for $7.xx?

I liked it, it's got a bit of a "apocalypse in the moment" feeling you'd get from a lot of recent movies where a city gets torn apart. The sandbox element is a step back from the first games but it's still bigger and more interesting than most of the genre.

I wouldn't say it's standout but it looks very good for its age and it plays with 90% of the modern FPS trappings you'd expect.

How many chances there are for a humble bundle today?

I seem to recall us getting a proper Humble Indie Bundle during year's end in the past, but that would conflict with the Steam sale in a lame way.

So the Dragon's Dogma hype in here got me to tack on a little fundage to my account from my Christmas money.

Bought DD, Thumper and Life is Strange.

I'm done now
:jnc
.

My haul:
DD
Thumper
Life is Strange
Grim Dawn
Rebel Galaxy

That along with the buttload of games I have on Steam already (90+) should keep me for a while, until Total War Warhammer comes down in price more significantly.

lol I'll probably play Overwatch incessantly instead

Need a little advice from Steam-GAF.
- Endless Space. The only issue with that is I already have Galactic Civ II and only scratched the surface with it. Any reason to get ES or just play Gal Civ?

I found Gal Civ 2 to be really dated in a lot of ways and I ended up dropping it after only 2 hours. Endless Space on the other hand seemed more accessible while still being deep and challenging. I'd probably give Endless Space 1 a 8/10.
