Jyn's transformation to a valiant Rebel inspiring others was worse than Anakin's in RotS.

Jyn's transformation isn't even remotely as bad as Anakin's swing from "WHAT HAVE I DONE?" to child murder in less than 10 minutes screen time
Imagine you're the empire. The rebels are trying to steal something from the archives. They don't know for sure that it's the death star and they probably never will because they blew up the freaking base. Imagine they did know that it was the death star because an empire ship heard the broadcast and also accepted it. Now...
Imagine how large the death star is. Even if they did know there was a weakness in the design. How long would it take to really find it. The death star is blown up within ~3 days of RO ending.

I'm definitely in the boat that had no idea. I probably haven't seen the originals in 15 or so years, and longer than that since I've really watched them with focus. So, without fail so far, ever person I talk to that has seen Rogue 1 that is less familiar with the OT or has not seen it in a long time does not even realize that Tarkin was CGI. I ask then what they thought of CG Tarkin and they don't even know what I'm talking about. It catches both of us off guard.
It seems that those of us that are more familiar with Peter and already know that he is CG are much more likely to find fault.
That's very interesting. That knowledge must be giving many of us more judgmental eyes, scanning for hints of what we already know is true. Is it my memory of how Tarkin looked under different lighting and different acting that is tipping me off?
I'm kind of amazed that so many people have no clue. Makes me think that maybe CG Tarkin isn't getting enough credit.
Random thought; Rogue One is the Star Wars equivalent of a Gundam OVA.
Was Saw's henchman a species we've seen before or was it just really well designed? It looked very familiar.
I thought he was the same species as Plo Koon
Yup. Shit was weird and unearned. Wonder if they had cut some character interactions between them. The most unearned thing in all of Star Wars is probably when Baze calls Jyn "little sister" for like no reason towards the end. Just awkward as hell.
To me bad fanservice is when you just rehash the same plot elements (TFA did that in spades) and throw awkward references that don't fit (the Special Editions did that). Rogue One didn't do any of that.

In the theater, I was really impressed that they managed to make someone look close enough to him. Afterward, I see all the complaints about really blatant CGI. I didn't notice either instance, I was just happy and impressed to see returning characters.
I'm in the other boat. I'm not a particularly big Star Wars fan, and have only seen the original trilogy twice. Most recently about 10 years ago. And I had no idea Cushing had passed.
As soon as Tarkin turned around, I knew it was CG.
Unfortunately, the bolded never happens. You have to put up with the Morning Zoo dipshit on every episode. He just talks less on some of 'em

Yeah, they totally ruined his appearance. He looks like himself in maybe 2 or 3 shots. Terrible.I just cant get over how damn puffy he looks in ROTS compared to Jedi

The Clone Wars series can help with that. Along with the Rebels Season 2 finale.Anakin ruined vader for me. I would like to forget that he existed. I only see 4567 and rouge as the movies. May be 1 if i need to. Fuck emo anakin.
It happens in the Empire Strikes Back during the Battle of Hoth.So you know when the star destroyer gets disabled and that retro looking lightning/electricity ripples all over it that's straight out of the old films? I swear that happened to a star destroyer in the OT at some point too, but I can't find it. I know it happens to R2 a couple times when he's zapped, but the star destroyer eludes me. Am I just going crazy or am I just missing it?
In Empire when the Rebels escape from Hoth. One of the cannons disables a Star Destroyer and it gets frazzled. So you know when the star destroyer gets disabled and that retro looking lightning/electricity ripples all over it that's straight out of the old films? R2-D2 and C-3PO make sense when you realize they're there just so they continue to appear in every Star Wars movie.
The Clone Wars series can help with that. Along with the Rebels Season 2 finale.
At least, unlike Rebelforce Radio, it doesn't randomly turn into some Rush Limbaugh bullshit for no reason.
I hope the empire isnt featured as the main antagonist in the Solo movie.Makes one wonder if Han&Lando will be first without them. It might be hard to find an opportunity for an appearance. Kasdan wouldn't care either way, but Lord & Miller might want to do it.

Too OP, Hera woulda 1-hit the Star Destroyers or the shield gate. And if it had carried over A and B wings from Rebels, it could even have people similarly complaining that "they weren't supposed to have those ships yet!"
[nerd]That took out an Arquitens Cruiser.Too OP, Hera woulda 1-hit the Star Destroyers and the shield gate.

An Imperial Star Destroyer is far, far, far tougher.

I forgot B-wings are mini death stars now.
No just that one,
The Rebels B-Wing was just an experimental prototype with many flaws that have also been pointed out.

They managed to do a good job with ion torpedoes, but yeah, B-Wing prototype probably could have helped out there. Or just B-Wings in general. It would mess it up more than anything else they had.
It's even painted red!In the proud Gundam tradition of prototypes that 10x stronger than the mass-produced model.

I assume all the A-Wings were destroyed before the movie thanks to being used by the perpetually unfortunate Phoenix Squadron.I can pass on B-Wings but an A-Wing or 2 would have been okay considering how heavily Rebels features their use 2+ years prior.
Im just glad Y-Wings were handled well, they have always been my favorite.
