Sigh, that's what I get for not finishing the game. One day though, it will be completed.

And this plays to a bigger point... to those of us who beat the game... who cares about adding cutscenes and lore to the game now??? Who cares??? Too little too late, in my opinion.
Best thing to do is let us play cool stuff with the guys and meet up with Iris, Cor, Aranea and Cindy. Let us get new outfits but even that is becoming dumb as time passes on.
Here's my question: how the heck did we fight a demon Ravus, after the human Ravus died? He was dead, we saw the body. To my knowledge nowhere else does the game hint that demons can be created from dead people.
And XIII...9 has odin too!![]()

Eat lasagna. I bought enough ingredients to eat at all 5 camps. The elemental damage nullification trivializes most of the hard fights. Jormungand type bosses on floors 29 and 60 have all their fire moves nullified, leaving just their basic melee. Coeurls instant death attacks are nullified because they are considered lightning. Arachnes also use mostly lightning attacks. The Nagas on floors 50-60 are the most dangerous but they aren't bad.
The first 30 floors are easy. Floors 31-40 are the hardest by far because of Iron Giants. You need to fight 4 of them at once in one room, then survive several more with your weakened team. Make use of mega potion infused spells to full cure Noctis. Experienced my only non Type-F game overs on these floors. Once you reach floor 40 the rest is cake.
It never says they must come from living people either, though. We see that they completely vanish and reappear as daemons. Maybe that involves dying. What isn't explained is why he was the only one to keep his clothes, haha. But there's a small difference to Ravus, compared to any other generic daemon. He didn't seem "infected" in the normal way, it seemed like it was just his prosthetic arm that had the magitek daemon bullshit, plus being from the Fleuret line, probably had some influence on it.
Of course, the amount of "maybe" and "probably" means that the game doesn't really explain it, but it didn't jump to me as anything more than "cool boss moment".
Yes that was the afterlife. The campfire scene was before the final fight. Can someone explain that ending?
Did Noctis die and the scene with Luna and Noctis was just the afterlife?
What about that final camp fire scene? Did that take place before or after the final fight?
After Altissa, the story/plot got really confusing.

I really don't understand why they killed Ravus off-screen. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a fight or a cut-scene that ended up cut.

Heck they had pieces of paper around his body to explain his character pretty sure they removed alot of Ravus. Probably see him die during Promto dlc alongside rest of empire
13 also has Odin

Prompto DLC has the most potential for story development if the main villain is Verstael, I really hope they go that route.
They might even add a cutscene of the main character acknowledging the events of the DLC to make the narrative a bit smoother. It's not unprecedented, Dark Souls has a new cutscene in the main game if you do the DLC in a certain order. That said, it has no dialogue or anything like that, so it was certainly much cheaper to make.
GAF you're missing the most important conclusion we should be discussing.
ARE WE READY TO PROCLAIM OLD RUGGED NOCTIS THE MOST HANDSOME JRPG PROTAGONIST EVER, LET ALONE FF? Because I'm this close to making a thread about it.
A year or so ago I this thread that got shit on about a distinct lack of diversity in jRPG protagonists and to make my point I asked GAF to find me one non-user-created, non-Mario jRPG protagonist that had any facial hair. It took pages and pages until someone mentioned Front Mission. So you can understand how pleased I was when they show us old Noctis with a beard and I couldn't get enough of his "tired of this bullshit" demeanor.
Such a welcome addition. I'm tired of the same cookie cutter 17 year old sword wielding jRPG protagonists with a hot childhood friend in love with him In many ways Noctis seemed like another tropey MC but in more way than one he subverted the cliché. And he couldn't have done it without dat Voice Acting.
I mean, you say beard like thats actually a beard.
Is there a place to read on the lore and back story to the FFXV universe? I really want more of the game lol
Question: Why are some places on my map dark and others light?
Also, how are dungeons foundjust by wandering around? Any tips? I foundbut I'm only maxed around Lvl.50 and getting wrecked.Costlemark Tower,
Didnt realize this was a FF XIII spoiler thread, I was planning on finally beating that game soon :|
Just finished the game. I actually really liked Chapter 13. Not on a gameplay level, because it was the pits, but on a narrative level.
The earlier chapters were all awesome adventures with my bros. Stuff sucked sometimes, but otherwise we ate and rode chickens and had fun. Then, suddenly, Ignis is blind. (Also, Luna's dead, but who really cares about that?) The next dungeon with blind Ignis was frustrating as hell because you had to keep waiting for him, and Gladio kept grumping at you, but I ended up legitimately feeling like shit because I wanted to fix Ignis and the group's relationship but seemed powerless. It worked specifically because it really helped put me in Noctis's shoes.
Then, Chapter 13. Everything really sucks, you're all alone, and nothing is really fun anymore. But you keep stumbling ahead because you made it this far and want to see things through. I really felt the desperation and hopelessness after getting fond of the companions and Noctis's power and the routines of the earlier game.
I'm somewhat disappointed that they're saying they'll change it to be more entertaining. Life sucks sometimes, and makes the happy parts brighter.
I.... I'm not sure I'm following. Noctis sports a beard at the end. It's not a full-on Dumbledore beard but for a JRPG protagonist it very well may be and I'll take what I can get at this point.
Dont forget they dared have a JRPG protagonist get to the ancient age of 30-something! This was a franchise who changed protagonists in FFXII so they could shoehorn in a clean-shaven 17 year old wuss argumenting players wouldnt be able to relate to the rugged older dude because #JRPGs.
FFXIII came out 8 years ago. You had your chance to be unspoiled.
Wow! Last night I spent 5+ hours completing the most tedious thing ever in a Final Fantasy (or any) game - The Pitioss Ruins.
The concept of it was amazing and I really enjoyed the atmosphere too, however, Noctis is not designed for platforming. His animations, his precision, his control, all are really poor for platforming purposes. Even with these controls, it might have not been so bad but the main problem was that it was too damn long. You can't save anywhere inside either. It really needed to be cut down to 1/2 or 1/3 its actual size, or allow saving everywhere. It doesn't have any enemies, so no reason why it should not allow saving.
Damn! I'm impressed and angry at the same time. GGs, Tabata.
I wouldn't have had as much of a problem with Ch. 13 if they made it shorter, or cut it into two chapters. Idk, I feel like that would at least alleviate some of the frustrations that I had.
Heh, been thinking the same. Absolutely loved his design. I'm straight, but dude's a handsome mofo with that design. Teen Noctis looks goofy, tbh.GAF you're missing the most important conclusion we should be discussing.

"Old" Noctis is especially dumb when the dude's only 30 years old after Chapter 13. Man, the genre really has to diverge from the usual trappings of teenage heroes who are somehow the only ones capable of felling empires and deities. :/
So yeah, I support "old" Noctis. More 30+ yrs heroes, please.
Didn't the Crystal make him (and his father) age faster?
It's a shame that there aren't more dungeons like this though, especially after I discovered that the 'vault' dungeons are all the same.
Ultimanias always have more lore than the games.Reading up on the timeline. WTF? When was some of this covered or mentioned in the game? The whole Solheim and Ifrit part mainly. The other stuff was covered in the anime and movie which made sense.
Noctis is destined to kill all the women in his life. R.I.P. Aranea.
There is an ultimania for FFXV?Ultimanias always have more lore than the games.
His in-game version looks more like Young Noctis than the CG renders. The real mystery is why does young Noctis look Asian, but Old Noctis suddenly look White? Hmm.

That's where the timeline is from. There are two Ultimanias, Battle+Map, and Scenario. There is an ultimania for FFXV?

How is that White?
