Who will buy Zelda BOTW WiiU ?

What system are you buying Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild for?

I will rather than waiting until we get a good sale for a switch and games. Never an early adopter anyway so getting a switch with zelda early on was out of the question.

I'm going to buy it. It should hold its value as a collectors item and it gives me a legitimate copy to be able to emulate at higher resolutions Via Cemu

Me. No interest in a Switch at launch, I have a Wii U, and I must play BOTW day one (unless for some terrible reason it ends up not being good). That leaves me with only one choice.

The same people who bought Twilight Princess on the GameCube, I guess.

I don't think so, these people are much older now and probably earn more money and can afford the better version on Switch.

People who bought a WiiU will most definitely buy a Switch someday anyway. This time the version on the new console has real advantages too whereas the Wii version was mostly the same as GCs.

I still have a Wii U pre-order. I should cancel that since I sold my Wii U last year. Or I keep this version hoping for it to be rare? 🤔

I'm sure the version will be fine.

Wouldn't the USK logo affect collector's value?

I will only cancel my Switch preorder of the game if the lighting really ends up better on the Wii U version.

Do we know if Nintendo will ship review copies of both versions at the same time? Will also be interesting to see how many outlets review both versions side-by-side.

Also the New 3DS is $199. The Switch is much more powerful and can be played on a TV or on the go.

The New 3DS XL is ridiculously overpriced. It should cost between $129-149 and not a penny more.

The Black Friday $99 New 3DS deal sold out everywhere immediately in large part because it actually represented a fair price for what you were getting.

And to get back on the topic: I already pre-ordered it.

Already preordered on Amazon. I have no idea if or when I'll get a switch. I've hardly scratched the surface of the Wii U I got just over a year ago.

Most likely. Going to wait until impressions/Digital Foundry performance comparison, because 720-900p isn't a big enough difference for me. If it's significantly worse, I'll wait until later in the year between Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey to buy a Switch and play it on there.

If it manages to work really well on CEMU then I'd easily get the Wii U version.

My Bestbuy preorder discount means I'm paying 2/3 the price I would normally pay.

I'll stick with Wii U and CEMU thank you very much.

I'm planning on camping out early morning at my local walmart to grab a switch as I was unable to get a preorder.

If I can't grab the switch, I'll grab the Wii U version of Zelda. Can't wait for the second wave of switches

Yup, got it for $37 or something via Best Buy with GCU and Visa Checkout. I personally have no interest in the Switch whatsoever outside of Zelda, and I already own a Wii U. If the Switch ends up being a hit and if I like the game enough to replay it, I'll get it on Switch later to play with the better res/etc.

Best Buy missed my release day delivery for Nioh so I might switch Zelda to store pickup...

Getting it for Wii U would be a nice little send off for the console. Also, playing with the Pro Controller would be lovely. Probably gonna go with the Wii U version if I can't get Switch quickly enough

Definitely getting on Wii U. The trailer at the Switch reveal gives me chills. Must play, no reason to buy a new system that already looks to be in trouble just to play it.

provocative. Do we just say I'll get it on the Wii U because I have a Wii U and no Switch preorder? Or do I say something intended to incite an argumentative response?

Welp, your reasons are your reasons.

Yeah I have it pre-ordered for Wii U. As is I don't find the Switch to be an attractive product and I'd prefer to wait until the library has built up a bit before considering one (I would have enjoyed the Wii U considerably more had I done the same with that too).

I have it on order at £38 from AmazonUK on WiiU, I doubt I will be getting a Switch anytime soon.

It is too good a price currently, if I hear bad things close to release there is a good chance I will cancel and wait and see, knowing Nintendo there will only be one print-run for the WiiU version, AmazonUK are sold out and I have seen it sold out on a couple of others sites, everywhere else it's £45+.

99% certain I'm going with that.

Unless some report comes out saying it's by far the definitive version on Switch (beyond 900 vs 720), I'm going with the Wii U version. There are just no must-buy Switch exclusive games for me until Mario Odyssey. And the Switch is overpriced in Canada, so I'm hoping for at the very least a bundle with Mario Odyssey by the time that game comes out.

I'm getting it. Not planning on getting a Switch until later in the year.... ya know, when there are other games to play on it other than this one.

I am getting it but not to play it but to add it to my Zelda collection since i collect pretty much everything Zelda and i don't want to break my full US release collection. I don't care about importing a importing a japan version for that collection though.

I have a Wii U version on pre-order for day 1 pickup...
Though if I can get my Switch pre-order delivered day 1, I'll get the Switch version...

Gonna take time off from work to play Zelda... :D

Totally getting the Wii U version. I'll only buy a Switch when and if Nintendo gets their shit together and puts out a proper Metroid and F-Zero.

I'd love to support Nintendo for all of the great years of gaming they have provided me over the past 35 years but given the fact that there are literally no preorders for the Switch left, unless Nintendo is able to meet demand on launch I will be buying the WiiU version.

I pre-ordered a Switch and BotW, but I will also buy the Wii U version without a doubt. It'll be interesting to compare the two versions.

When Twilight Princess came out, I bought it at launch with the Wii, and as soon as the GameCube version came out (about 3 weeks later in NA) I bought that too.

I definitely am. Can't preorder a Switch, not at all interested in trying to brave the crowds to try to get one on day 1, and my Wii U could use one more good game in its rather small library. The two versions don't even look all that different.

I'll get a Switch when it's been out for a while, and preferably when it's bundled with a game.

Has Nintendo mentioned anything about pushing out a mandatory firmware update? Cause if they release BotW without forcing a new update ALOT of people are gonna just pirate the damn thing considering how easy it is.

I'll be playing it on Switch. There's something special about playing such a huge game on a new console. It's also an awesome swan song for the Wii U.

I am. Not getting a Switch at launch to play 1 game and abanon it till December when they decide to release something else.

So instead of spending $300 now and playing the better version of Zelda, you'll spend $300 in December.

Oh and there's Arms, Splatoon 2, MK8 Deluxe, Xenoblade, Mario Odyssey and whatever else they unveil between now and E3, for 2017.
