Chicken Waffle Tenders Returning to Popeyes This Month

I swear the Popeye's in my area is using the batter meant for the Chicken Waffle Tenders for their normal chicken items. They were noticeably sweeter and more crumbly.

Had some on Tuesday, they continue to be godlike. Service at my local Popeye's was on point too, gave me extra cups of honey-maple sauce.

I would be okay with this.

I'm not a fan of the sauce so much, but the tenders are so damn good. It's been too long, definitely need to go soon.

It wasn't so much the sauce itself, but the fact that I didn't even ask and they were all, "here have some extra just in case!".

I would never expect that level of service in a KFC (were I to ever set foot in one).

Yeah that's true. Sometimes I've seen them charge after the first couple sauce cups, which is lame.

I gotta about 30 minutes to go to the nearest Popeye's but that's a great way to spend a weekend.

Although the last time I had them I went into a food coma while in the restaurant. So good.

Oh, as a big fan of the Chicken Waffle Tenders the first time around, I was definitely okay with it! I didn't know they were coming back, so when I tasted the chicken, I was immediately surprised that it reminded me of the Chicken Waffle Tenders. So seeing your thread confirmed my suspicions.

How are these tenders compared to Cane's?

I'm a huge fan of Cane's chicken, but I like these just as much. It's a going for a different, sweeter taste, though. The Maple sauce took me a while to get used to, but it grew on me.

Can you get a meal with five strips or something? I remember I had these before and liked them but found that just the three strips wasn't enough for me.

Yeah, I had no clue either. Was watching a basketball game and saw a commercial for it and was completely blindsided. Had to check if there was a thread, there wasn't, and here we are :P

The last time I had Popeye's was the last time they had these available, which was at least a couple of years ago. Had these yesterday and they're just as good as I remember.

Had Popeyes for the first time a couple months ago, have been going there weekly ever since. Super excited to try these.

Made a trip today for these. Worth it. They were a bit more crunchy than I remembered which was nice.

on paper it sounds like the most amazing thing ever but i found them to be pretty underwhelming. per popeyes standards

location was kinda sketch though. wouldn't be surprised if they did the batter wrong or something

I ate some yesterday. Meh. The sauce was underwhelming and the tenders looked cutting room floor. Will stick to raising cane

Just ordered the five piece combo and these things are too rich. They forgot to give me the sauce but I don't think I could have stomached them.

Should have stuck with spicy

Omg how did I almost miss this. Been waiting for these to come back since 2014 lol. Got an order in front of me now!
