This is a potentially get off the boat and help sink it or slowly drown along with it moment. McCain and Graham and whoever else in the GOP need to decide fast what side of history they want to be on.

Stuff came out during the campaign too. It was a never ending stream of reasons he should not be elected, and he won. Why would his Presidency be any different?

Besides, he'll just fire everyone on the tapes and we'll be on to the next "OMG WTF" scandal and so on. This will go on until his own supporters turn against him. They actually vote.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I've been witnessing how the republicans have behaved over the course of recent history -- unprecedented obstruction, hard lines, not allowing a vote or even speaking to Obama's very moderate, highly qualified SCOTUS pick -- and I simply don't believe they'll do anything about anything under any circumstances. We'll just hit a wall and hope for the best in 2018.

I think one Dem was already saying that 2018 should be about promising to impeach Trump. If more evidence comes out and they still refuse to do anything about it, we might have to wait two long years for a proper investigation.

a) high profile murder or suicide forces the GOP's hand
b) the pressure causes a high-level Trumpster to implode and spill the beans

Otherwise, it'll slide off the GOP

I'm not being difficult, I honestly want to know -- What is the logical conclusion here? They'll be forced by media and public scrutiny to do the right thing because they have shame? No, they actually don't... And their voters live in an alternate reality where none of this is real.

We saw with Flynn that leaks lead to action, I bet this emboldens the leakers to the point where there is enough leaking that something does break.
 
All the leaks are good. Keep in mind this will take months and there will be tons of dumpster fires before we see actual things pan out.

I barely watch the news but I have fallen in love with Maddow she is absolutely on point and brutal. I am more of a newspaper guy but I think i will start watching her more.

At minimum there's going to need to be requirements for presidential nominees to release their tax returns and then the same for every person they want to put into the White House once they are in. If we don't even get that out of this disaster we're fucked. We will have put nothing we've learned into any substantial mechanism to try and prevent a similar situation.
