fuck this guy
Well, he could always stick around as an illegal.
No keep that cunt away from here. We took back Piers Morgan man.
Therefor he should join Glen Beck's network TheBlaze next?
Being against "Identity politics" is a way for white guys to disregard women, gay, and minority rights

He was neither humiliated nor shamed on that show. The only one who came out looking like an asshole was Maher. Milo's disinivitation from CPAC, book deal cancellation, Breitbart firing and general life collapse has fucking ZERO to do with anything Maher said or did. Nobody at CPAC is taking their cues on anything from Bill Maher.
Nah, keep him away.Stop sending us your worst people. That's what Australia is for.
I'm honestly surprised about this. I was almost positive they would have kept him on and brushed off this controversy by using the "locker room talk" defense.
On the other hand, he's a gay and even though he's supposed to be "one of the good ones", gay conservatives are at the bottom of the right-winger totem pole.
Russia invented useful idiots. They'll make him the face of homophobic laws.Lol. He probably could. Not like he'd be the first to do it.
He could flee to Russia if the UK doesn't want him either. Although, IIRC how does Russia feel about gay people? Ohh man! This guy is so screwed!

Feel free to disagree but I am of the mind that even though Bill's interview, as a choice and as it was conducted, were very disappointing to me, the clip from the panel – give credit to Larry if you like, he certainly deserves some as well! – all happened on Bill's show and seemed to start the snowball rolling. I know about CPAC and the rest, but what I didn't know was that the Republican party actually had a line that was possible to cross, anymore.
I'll respond to this one
I didn't want to watch the interview with Milo, because I was annoyed that Maher had him on at all. I am a believer in free speech and defend it regularly, but I don't think Milo is a free speech argument, he's a hate speech troll. So we're clear.
I ended up listening to it while out on a hike, since i have the audio podcast version subscribed, and I thought ok, may as well hear what happened.
At one point Maher called him an "impish British fag". which made me wince, 'cause I do not like it when people use that term at all but you can't call that coddling.
At several points he said "I strongly disagree with you on several points" but he didn't really get into it, and he let Milo go on too long.
I think a lot of folks here hate Milo so much that anything less than total destruction in the interview is not enough. And many also hate Maher for other points, many of which I disagree with as well (against Maher). I get where they're coming from but let's not miss the forest for the trees. Maher wasn't nice to him. He simply let him speak and he drives peopel fucking crazy. Again, I want to underscore, I don't think he should have had him on. But some credit is due, even fleetingly, for having him on the panel afterwards, because I'm pretty sure Bill knew what was going to happen to him, even if he wasn't willing to do it himself.
Let's not forget: many people have interviewed this idiot. Channel 4. ABC Nightline. CNBC. (And of course a raft of conservative sources.) Are all of these places "enablers" for speaking to this clown?

I wasn't being serious. The situation for lgbt people in Russia is indeed very dire.I've read horror stories about how gay people are treated in Russia. If he goes there he will likely die.

I love the retroactive credit Bill maher gets for doing nothing, even it was Larry Wilmore and the others pusing back against Milo. Shout to the Regan fanboys that have some sort of principals.
I wonder if Maher will end up buying into his own hype on this one.
No, no, no, no, no.
That interview was fucking awful. Forget "total destruction", I would have been happy if Maher pushed back simply half the time. He barely debated him at all and spent most of the segment agreeing with him. Maher can be a great interviewer and he's demonstrated that many times in the past, which is why it was so utterly infuriating to see him coddle Milo in the manner that he did.
I love that Rick-I almost slipped and called Obama a nigger Santorum is somehow disgusted with Yiannopoulos.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TE1wN1UMhuo Don Lemon discusses the incident with Milo with Jennifer Granholm (former governor of MI) and Rick Santorum on CNN.
Good on Santorum for also ripping Milo (although did he need to throw libertarians under the bus too?)
Thanks Bill Maher

No problem, tone is notoriously difficult to read online. Yep, been a long, long, long time due.Oh. Whoops! Sorry about that. I'm just filled with so much happiness and excitement right now that this asshole is getting exactly what he deserves.

Milo is basically Gay Anne Coulter. It's a schtick designed to piss you off. Don't fall for it.

The fact that your defense of Maher's interview boils down to "impish British fag" and "I disagree with you on several points" is proof of how weak the interview was. Maher's show did not do anything to create an environment of criticizing Milo. Republicans do not give any fucks about Bill Maher; they're not watching his show for any cues to follow on. The blowback came from conservatives who were appalled that he was invited to speak at CPAC. That's it.
And calling Milo or Ann Coulter shticks that we just shouldn't fall for is extremely dangerous. These are real people with real, harmful worldviews that are becoming increasingly popular because there are people like Milo and Coulter out there to promote them.
Barf."You're like a young Christopher Hutchins!"
Demonstrating the bravery we need in these times.Maher helping to discredit Milo:
"You're like a young Christopher Hutchins!"
"Gotta protect women and girls from trans people? Sounds reasonable!"
"Trans people are responsible for the majority of sexual assault? Not sure, but *shrug*"
"I hate whiny liberals too!"
Fuck Sam Harris? He's been a vehement critic of Trump and his supporters. He argues using nuance and reason. He's exactly the kind of level-headed person the left needs to listen to right now, even if you find that some of his arguments make you uncomfortable. I'm guessing your main issue with him is his strident criticism of religion, and particularly Islam, which somehow got him labeled a racist (thanks Ben Affleck). Or maybe it's because he has been increasingly critical of the left for going overboard with identity politics and outrage culture? Left-GAF has been freaking me out ever since Trump won. I'm becoming increasingly aware that many of you support the use of violence against speech, as was the case with the Berkeley incident. Absolutely nothing good will come of that. We (the left) need to pull our shit together before we lose the 2018 and 2020 elections. That starts with taking a hard look at ourselves.
Also, Sam's latest podcast episode was great:
Waking Up with Sam Harris #65 — We're All Cucks Now (with David Frum)

the fact that you ignored my repeated and emphasized unhappiness with the choice to a) do the interview at all and b) how it went, shows that you are blinded by the shine off the axe you are grinding.
Maher probably didn't know who he was dealing with (surprise surprise) but his millions of viewers undoubtedly helped torpedo Milo's career, Milo quickly become an imported/national punchline and was thoroughly thrashed on the show and the aftermath. Hope even crowdfunding sites will ban Milo, good riddance

Fuck Maher.
Really? You try to defend the man by associating him with the identity politics and outrage culture boogeyman fight?
Not the best line if argumentation given the context of this thread
Honestly, "identity politics" is a bullshit phrase that anyone who associates themselves with being left or progressive should be embarrassed of saying.
The thing that cracks me up is when dudes are like "identity politics are holding the left back. Now let's focus on getting the white working man on our side"
I would personally be more concerned with popular self-proclaimed liberal icons like Bill Maher self-righteously embracing bigotry against the trans community in front of millions on TV than anything Left GAF has done.
I had a feeling people were going to latch on to that term. Calling people out for saying or doing bigoted things is good, but making it the center of left-wing discourse has proven to be a political dead end, as far as I can see. As I said, I'm worried about future elections for Democrats.
No.
They didn't. We know who dug up the offending comments and why.
And they sure as shit weren't Bill Maher fans.
Not everyone that watches is a fan, as seen by this thread lol. Anyway Milo sure as hell went up in hits after Maher's show, love that if there's no correlation at least there's convenient and karmic coincidence
what did you think of the Joan Rivers comparison? just out of curiosity.

I won't defend that. I've already criticized Maher for that weak ass episode.
