What system are you buying Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild for?

Something seems to be up with Amazon lately. I've been using them regularly for over 15 years, but all of a sudden, they seem to be having a lot of issues, particularly when it comes to pre-orders.

Ive ordered an amiibo from them and they sent it to the wrong area code. Not to mention when i pre-ordered Color Splash i didnt get it on time.

If it werent for the Twitch benefits and prime discount i wouldnt keep prime.

Funds are limited at the moment so I don't think I'll be buying a Switch at launch.

Will more than likely wait until comparison videos hit showing differences between the two versions and if the damage isn't too bad on the Wii U I'll pick it up on that.

Not the biggest Zelda fan so getting a completely new system just for this was out of question.
Only 3D Zelda I've liked is OoT, liked most of the 2D ones though.

The preview coverage and EDGE 10/10 has piqued my interest though and I'm getting this for the WiiU.

saw this in the other thread...sorry to bring bad news..
Apparently the Edge review says the framerate can get even worse in the WiiU version... Getting even to the "tens"

For some reason I though this game would be smoother on the WiiU, since it was originally developed for, but Nintendo probably decided to push the Switch to the detriment of the WiiU.

Is just one outlet, will wait for other, but it's not a good sign

:(

I posted that, but they said it happens only during very specific situations. I read somewhere else the quote and though it was more frequent.

I think this is to be expected in an open world game.

Still buying obviously.

I own a Wii U but for a certain number of reasons I go for the Switch at launch.
First system I buy at launch in my life, so it's also an interesting experiment.

Since Edge is currently our only source for Switch vs WiiU comparisons, do they mention any other differences in how BoTW performs (draw distance, lighting, textures...)?
I currently have the WiiU version preordered but given how epic this game's gonna be I really don't want to get a subpar experience.

Got the same Amazon email, am I screwed or could this just be a temp issue that resolves itself before release? Might just go digital at this point.

Mine also says shipping on March 31st. I had this on order since January 13th. I really do hope that is a typo.

Just changed to 1 day shipping and now it says:

Not yet shipped
Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date.

Hope I didn't just fuck up my order.

I received the email from Amazon. Unsure whether to pre-order at Best Buy now. I'd like to wait and see if Amazon comes through (especially since I have a prime discount), but I need this game on day one.

I did that earlier in the week and it updated to a March 3 ship date. It sounds like Amazon isn't going to have enough stock to fill all pre-order.

For those who still have a 3/3 delivery date, when did you order?

I'm torn. I have a Wii U but I want to get a Switch eventually so I may just wait it out.

Hopefully my brother-in-law who also has a Wii U will let me borrow his copy if it's good.

Fuck that. Not taking any chances. Canceled and just ordered on Best Buy. They seem to still have them.

Ugh... the choice of playing this on a potato vs another potato. Even though i own a Wii U i think i might rather wait ten years for emulation.

I did vote WiiU but now I'm actually getting a Switch and the only game worthwhile on it is Zelda.
I'm kinda glad I am now, because I can get the DLC without worrying about digging my WiiU at the end of this year.

Buying the WiiU version and will play it on PC with emulator.

WiiU already has an emulator that is capable of running most stuff without issues.

I am going the WiiU route. This is the first Nintendo console I haven't bought on launch since the NES. I'll pick up a Switch eventually. But the WiiU still has many hidden gems I've yet to play. And, being mid 40's, time is at a premium these days. I am happy to stick with the WiiU for the time being.

I'm getting the Wii U version at launch. Or at least I hope I will get it at launch, I will be quite cross if it's not in the mail that day.

Won't buy a Switch anytime soon, it tend to take about 3-4 years until I feel a console have a good enough game library to be worth buying. Didn't buy my PS4 until a few months ago.

Now that it has been confirmed the WiiU version has worse framerate I can't see one single reason anyone would get it over the Switch version unless you can't actually afford the $300 for a Switch.

The DLC making it tso that you'd have to keep the dead system hooked up for another year was already a major knock against it, this just seals the deal.

Can you point me in the direction of said confirmation please?

CEMU, which has host based timers. It's much better for someone like me who owns a WiiU to get it for that console, rip it and eventually play it on CEMU in 4k. I'll just live with the drops until CEMU is ready.

Edge review. See post 380 in that thread.

Still say it only happens in busy sections like severe weather and nprarely affects gameplay.

In any case I'll wait for the games to be out and read a lot of impressions before deciding to get it or wait until (if) Switch becomes worth it to me. I'm in no hurry as I'm more hyped for Horizon and Mass Effect anyway.

The Edge review. They state the WIiU versions frame rate drops into the tens, not so for the Switch version.

Oh shit thanks I didn't want to read any reviews, well so much for buying a Wii U and this next week. I'll just wait for the switch to become easily available.

Did the Left Joycon desynch issue get fixed? That's a good reason.

People actually think they are going to be able to play this game in a newly developed emulator with 0 bugs and graphical glitches? Not happening.

Going to give it a month or two and see where opinion on Zelda lands. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword were both hyped to the moon and neither did much for me. I'm also not thrilled at the thought of buying a clearly rushed system at launch.
