Who will buy Zelda BOTW WiiU ?

What system are you buying Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild for?

Something seems to be up with Amazon lately. I've been using them regularly for over 15 years, but all of a sudden, they seem to be having a lot of issues, particularly when it comes to pre-orders.
They couldn't even deliver Gears of War 4 to me and spent an entire week lying to me saying that "the developers are having trouble with a Friday release" despite no other stores having any issues.

CEMU, which has host based timers. It's much better for someone like me who owns a WiiU to get it for that console, rip it and eventually play it on CEMU in 4k. I'll just live with the drops until CEMU is ready.

May take a century until CEMU is ready for that.

Good luck finding them. They are discounted and practically not being sold anymore.

Yeah...the people talking of buying a WiiU for it don't seem to take int account....you can't buy it new anymore. It has been removed from store shelves and online stores. You can only really find it used online places like ebay now.

Too early to write that as some sort of issue that will be there at launch, not to mention if you play in handheld mood or with a pro control its a non-issue.

Well, for me personally, I can't justify spending $300+ on a system that I Know will only have one game I want to play on it until 2018. (With Nintendo's recent track record Mario ain't coming in 2017, I just don't believe that). And don't want to wait until then to play Zelda.

Uh....what in the world are you talking about with Mario? Nintendo has never delayed a Mario game. And every report we have had is that Mario is effectively finished.

This post is pure absurdity with no basis in reality.

"Dips in FPS!" Meh. "You'll have to sweat and toil and set up a Wii U in Winter to play DLC!" ... Actually it'll still be there, right beside the TV.

Did people's minds break when this happened with Twilight Princess or something?

Going to give it a month or two and see where opinion on Zelda lands. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword were both hyped to the moon and neither did much for me. I'm also not thrilled at the thought of buying a clearly rushed system at launch.
I have this strange feeling that while TP and SS did nothing for me, this has looked banging since day one previews.

Maybe in USA but I guess everybody isn't from USA! :p For exemple in my country you can still find the Wii U in every shop, and at a good quantity. :)

Yeah I think that Edge review isn't helpful at all; "dips in fps during weather effects, rarely when it matters"? Doesn't sound like a big deal, especially when the Switch version apparently has frame drops as well.

Nintendo has been synonymous with delays for a little while now. Whether more recently with the Switch itself, the new Zelda being delayed for years, or Star Fox. As a consumer, this is what I'm now used to with them. Just because Mario hasn't been delayed in the past, doesn't mean it can't be or won't be. I'm not against a delay to make a product far better, I have more than enough to play on back-up, it's just something I expect with Nintendo.

And I doubt Mario is finished. There would be no reason not to release it to boost Switch sales (Unless it's artificially being held back for the holidays since Mario is ALL they have to release in that time frame which is equally disheartening) Either way, Nintendo would likely have +1 on Switch sales from me if Mario was being released sooner (me and a lot of people I know would have bought the system with at least more than one reason to)

After reading the info from Edge about the Wii U version I'm kicking myself for canceling my Switch and Zelda pre-order. Just going to have to wait it out.

I think I'll keep my switch & game preorders until digital foundry comes out with clear framerate results, then if the switch version is even 10% better, I'll keep the switch, if not I'll return or sell the switch at cost.

almost 99% sure im getting it for Wii U.

Has there been any recent discussion on the differences other than the 720P and audio differences? Has the framerate been a topic of concern for the Wii U version? Ive heard that the Switch version has framerate issues as well, so it doesnt sound like itll be that huge of a difference between the 2.

Bought the master edition on Switch, but i will pirate the wiiU version, im not buying the switch for now, and i can't spend more money on zelda games xD

Man, the fact that you bought the Master Edition on Switch doesn't give you the right of pirating the Wii U version, you should feel ashamed...

Umm...
Well for ROM's, if you own the game you can technically can get the ROM...

This just seems ill advised though...

I decided to hold out on the WiiU version purchase.

(Especially since BB refuses to use coupons on pre-order games).

Anyways, gonna see how it performs on the WiiU - if it does well and not REALLY bad in FPS, I'll get it on the WiiU , if it does perform bad and/or no more WiiU copies left, I'll wait and buy the game whenever I get the Switch which may be next year or so.

lmao, I respect the honesty at the very least

I myself am a lapsed Nintendo player, so this will be my first time owning a Nintendo console since Gamecube. First Zelda in 15 years. To say I'm excited would be an understatement. Most day one Switch owners are also Wii U owners, so there's some disappointment in having ports of Mario Kart, Splatoon etc., but for someone such as myself, I'm finally getting to play some great games I've been missing out on. Buying Zelda on Switch is a nobrainer for me.

Currently in talks with friends whether we are going to buy a Switch as a group.

I would buy Zelda for me when that happens, the other guys would just get it for Mario Kart.

I'm going to wait until the Switch has more games. With all the accessories and such, it's pretty pricey and I'm not willing to shell out that much money for it...yet.

That being said, I'm getting the Breath of the Wild Special Edition for the Switch and the Wii U version day 1. I'm really glad there's a Wii U version.

So the game is still not available on the EShop for pre-order/pre-load...

When does Nintendo put those up normally? Also I imagine that there's not any kind of pre-order bonus?

On my defense, the master edition cost $200 us dollars here = 130.000 Chilean Pesos.

What they say?

Frame rate is a little uneven on the Wii U version, dropping to teens in very busy sequences like heavy weather effects. Rarely when it matters.
And yes Edge did get to play the Wii U version as they were playing using Nintendo UKs hardware (hence why they have a review despite going to print before receiving the Switch). I'm not sure if they had to go to Windsor (or some other location) to play the game or if they could stay in their office Bath or London (given how old Edge is they're probably based in Bath).

I think it is pre-load in Europe only which is odd because Europe usually misses out on pre-load completely.

I think I asked this question before, but no one has answered me, I will ask again: Will the Wii U version has pre-load? If anyone knows about this matter, please respond.

Haven't played enough games on my WiiU yet, so might as well cap it off with Zelda. No sense getting a Switch at launch with such a paltry selection of titles, when I still have a big backlog on Xbone and PS4 as well.
