Thanks all
On this Sony TV on Amazon one seller has it @ £300
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IF52BE4/
Could not resist it at that price. I am waiting for it to be cancelled though. Seems too good to be true
Order dispatched!!
Am I in the clear?
Mine has dispatched too!
Do not buy from this shop, brought a t.v., was dispatched within an hour then a few hours later was refunded and I thought amazon was bad.
They're gonna send us a 21" Bush TV aren't they?
EDIT: Yeah looking like they will still cancel so not getting my hopes up. There is a tracking ID listed in the order description, but when I enter it on the Royal Mail site it says it's not a valid tracking number.
Yeah when you book a delivery you get the tracking, until it's left the warehouse and booked in with Royal Mail it won't show on the system. Hope you guys get them though would be a good result.
version 7.0 (Nougat) is coming to both 2016 and 2015 models and of course 2017 TVs. Sony launched the first Android TVs in 2015.
Version 7.0 will introduce new features such as picture-in-picture, multi accounts, multitasking menu, app recording, better HDR support, Vulkan 3D engine, bug fixes, and more.
http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1484553703It was also confirmed that YouTube HDR is coming to all 2017 4K/HDR models. In addition, Sony will release an update to TVs launched in fall 2016, meaning Z9D (ZD9), XD83, SD80, X80D (XD80), X75D (XD75), and X70D (XD70)
If this is systematic fraud, like, whats the endgame? The particular storefront has been generally well reviewed within its niche, so why dump all that for the chance to hold some hundred quid for at short while? Its just...weird.
So, uh, their entire storefront kinda vanished. At least the prodicts they were selling? Welp.
Is the 43'' a better TV than the 49'' if you don't care about size?
After several months with this TV (the 43" version), I gotta say that it's a terrific display. I use it as a PC desktop replacement as well as for consoles. I don't like that I can't simultaneously output audio to the speakers and optical for different situations, and that I have to do it in the menu, but it's a minor complaint (which has been a thing since their tube Trinitrons decades ago). In terms of build quality, colors, HDR, scaling, 4K, lag, etc., and especially for the price, I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend it if you're in a similar situation.
I've found it in the UK for under £600
Anyone ever used/heard of this site/store before, are they trustworthy?

Gotta cosign this. I was initially worried I may have jumped the gun on a 4K/HDR set, but after using this for a couple months... It really is an awesome TV for the price. Especially great if you are using it as a monitor.
PiP at last.

Spent like an hour a few weeks ago searching the menus for it.
You guys think this tv will go on sale soon since the new '17 sony's are rolling out? I mean $650 is cheap already but I can dig it going lower. Also, does anyone use this thing as a dedicated computer monitor? I've got my gaming PC in my room with my PS4 hooked up to a 23 inch monitor on a standard sized desk. I wonder if 43 inches will be too big sitting up close.
I'm trying to figure out where I am going to put this when I buy the inevitable A1E.
I think you could use it as a computer monitor but only if you have that much desk space to push it back a lot. Like 5 or 6 feet at least.
It's probably too big to have just 3 feet from your face.
I really see myself sticking to Android TVs in the future. I love my experience with the X800D. And that is coming from a primarily Apple user.
I wonder if it would be possible to sideload Youtube HDR on to an X800D. I think the X80D is a different model?
So in regards to the clouding on my set, I noticed it changed after I cleaned it. I did some looking around, and Rtings mentions a method using a microfiber cloth to almost "massage" the cloudy portion of the panel. They also say that it's particularly effective if it's an edge lit panel like these. I ended up taking a microfiber cloth and gave it a feather light once or twice over in a circular motion, and it actually worked pretty well. Must be a by product of having such a thin edge kit display...
As far as I noticed this is not PiP between HDMI input sources, but a PiP between any input source and some Android application [which has to be manually supported by the devs]. This is for watching YouTube thumb window during PC/console/TV use and not for seeing what is happening on some other HDMI input.
Lastly, Sony confirmed that HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), which is the third HDR format, will come to all 2017 models via an update later this year. Sony did not comment on 2016 models. Update: Sony confirms that the HLG update will also come to 2016 TVs (ZD9/XD83/XD80/SD80/XD75/XD70 and XD94/XD93/XD85/X94C/X93C/X90C/X85C).
Ola,
So i got the KD-49XD8077 and can anyone recommend me wich presets works best for HDR.
I just used the normal HDR syched with the ps4.
Now Horizon looks fantastic in HDR only the colours are a but washed out. What preset works best on this tv my fellow gaffers
Make sure enhanced hdmi is turned on in the tv options and your ps4 is connected to port 2 or 3.
also , you can lower black levels a bit.
Got that covered.. still looks washed out.
Someone here plays horizon? How does the tall grass (for sneaking) looks on HDR? Is it bright and poppy red? Or is it not much different then non-HDR

I had the same initial reaction. I have an x800d.
HDR, in my experience with this set, provides more realistic lighting. I never really got the sense of colors popping vibrantly from the screen with HDR on. What HDR does for me is provide a better sense of depth to the picture. Colors look filled out, deep, but not overly saturated. It makes the image look more like how we would see things in real life.
I've only really played one HDR game on PC (Shadow Warrior 2) and this wasn't my experience at all. The difference was so huge I couldn't believe it. So bright and colorful. Maybe it's different depending on the individual games implementation of HDR, I don't know how it works.

Trust me, when HDR is on, you'll know it.
