I would advise getting an LED USB backlight strip for the 49 for dark room use. In a well lit room the 49 looks fine as far as blacks.
Jesus it's that bad? smh

Make sure the seller is reputable and that returns/exchanges are easy if it ends up being DOA or exhibits problems when you receive it. Otherwise, you should be fine.anyone ever order a tv off ebay before? Pretty good deal on the 43 inch right now. $583.20
Thanks guys.http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/a20c636
43 has VA

49 has IPS
What is interesting is that they are now claiming 10 bit panel (8 bit + FRC), which they never said before.

Posting them is pointless really. You don't see what it actually looks like.Unsurprisingly, all of the HDR shots look worse (as they do in pretty much all threads on the subject).
Honestly, I have both the KS8000 and X800D. HDR is very similar between both. If you think HDR looks like shit on a certain game on this set, it will look pretty similar on the other set.
Every time this thread gets bumped I die a little cuz 4k tvs/monitors in Japan are not a thing x(.
Have had the 43 inch for about a month.
Primary purpose was to use as a pc monitor but I may also hook up my ps4 once if I feel like I need my gaming in one room.
Honestly for the price it's fantastic and rivals the JS8500 I have in PQ other than its lower peak brightness and lack of any dimming (also glad my expensive at the time JS8500 is still relevant, at least in my eyes).
I've been switching screens for my PC for the past two years, I'm finally satisfied.
thats odd.
what with them being the tech capital of the world n'all.
any reason why they dont have them?
i thought japan was already starting 8k tests this year? lol.
No updates here. Order is still listed as 'dispatched'.
Same. Except the tracking no longer exists. At least when using royal mails tracking. Not 'information' not found'.
Still no update here; and it's supposed to be delivered this week (I paid for fast delivery).
Nothing here either. Me bank is on the case and I should get the money back over the weekend.
Edit: best thing about all this trouble, is that I stumbled upon a great local deal for the KS8000(well, 7000 here in the EU), and that one is on its way and should be here Monday. Roughly the same price as you'd pay for the X800D, too.
Unfortunately the card linked to my Amazon account is a debit card; so I'm not sure what bank protection I have (it's a Nationwide Flexaccount). Unless the company issue a refund it sounds like I'm gonna have to go through the long game of the Amazon buyer protection unfortunately. I was always prepared for that; but I should have made sure I paid with my credit card really to offer some extra protection.
Good work on the KS7000.
Did you encountered any resolution issues that is caused by EDID? What GPU do you use?
been having trouble w/ the remote lately. I've dropped the remote on the wood floors a couple times. So i thought i was screwed.
but apparently its just the batteries. I've had the TV less than 3 months and the batteries already dead. I guess its the voice remote function, which i admittedly use a ton.
just odd.....since i can't recall ever changing batteries in a tv remote in the first year...maybe even 2 tbh.
glad thats sorted
Anyone else find the sound muffled and just... not great? On 10 and under here, and it's tinny and muffled. Did I get a dud set?
This is a response to everyone if you have purchased any item between 24th Feb to 1st March they was not sold by us amazon account was hacked and a fraud was committed by someone. We have raised this with amazon and have put the account on suspended mode until this issue is resolved.
By Peacock Retail on March 2, 2017.

Try changing the HDMI sound output in the PS4 settings to Dolby Digital and raise the volume to around 35 or so. I was impressed with the sound--as far as TV speakers go--when I did this. I am referring to Horizon on the 43" set.
Same, any picture/color/brightness settings to use or should we be using default? I did the basic setup info in the op.

I don't think HDR color data would transfer to the photo anyways, so using a photo comparisons for HDR and Non-HDR content doesn't work, unless I'm mistaken.
is the TV normally suppose to wobble a bit if you move it?
