II was relieved to see this post. * have my ps4 and switch connected to an HDMI switcher and once I turned my Switch off and started playing on the PS4. the screen kept momentarily going black. No idea why the Switch keeps doing it quite so often though. I could imagine it "phoning home" a couple of times a day, but not every 30 mins.

Yeah let me know if you find a solution. Honestly even if this happens a couple of times a day its unacceptable.

My docked and sleeping switch keeps causing my tv (Samsung KS8000) to switch over to its input even when nothing is happening.

I'm trying to watch Netflix on my Apple TV right now, and every few minutes it just changes over to the input my Switch is connected to. The screen stays blank, the Switch doesn't wake up, it just changes to that input for no reason. Reallllly annoying.

Yeah i posted this on the other page, i have a KS7000, its a wonderful "feature" samsung added to their 2016 TV's aprrantly.

A warning for anyone else using the switch on a 2016 Samsung TV

For some reason that stupid auto HDMI switching feature they seem to have when an HDMI input goes active (not anynet+ thats turned off) seems to randomly turn to the switch input when its sat in its dock in standby,

Only way i can find round it is to connect the switch to the TV through a HDMI switch and keep the HDMI switch on an inactive port, then switch it to the Switch input when wanting to play.

Ok, thats a lot of switches in one post, i'm confused.

.

Messing with a coworkers switch... those shoulder bumper JoyCon slide on pieces are real bastards! Someone didnt account for tolerance stacking (or maybe they did with anticipated wear) because those fuckers do NOT fit well lol... It really does feel like you're going to snap either the bumper piece or JoyCon every damn time. :/

Download speeds are slowwwwwww.
Shop had sold of of Zelda and I have a night to myself as wife of out, so decided to download.
An hour and a bit later and I'm just over 50% :(

Lol who would try this

With mobile screens it's always such a wild card. Some drops are totally fine a million times but one bad drop, catches the angle right and the screen shatters or spider webs into a million cracks.

Nobody try this lol.

Lol, at least i try ;)

So, I haven't had a chance to read through the rest of this thread yet, but has anyone been able to successfully import a Mii from an amiibo? My Switch seems to think none of my amiibos have data on them.

Decided to take the plunge, my Switch should be delivered Monday. Can't wait, it's my first Nintendo since GameCube.

Haven't read up too much on it so have a couple of questions please GAF.

Can I use the pro controller in tabletop mode ie not in the dock?

I may get a digital copy of zelda, how big is it, what size SD card should I get?

Hm...i accidentally put the joycon grip on backwards and its pretty damn stuck.

Happened to me. Call Nintendo to walk you through removing it, cause it's gonna feel like you're gonna break it with how much force you need to put in to clear it. Better to have official support guide you with the process.

Very annoyed.

Went to my local Wal-Mart this morning. I'd called, and they had two units left, which I was going to pick up for myself and a buddy. I get to the electronics section, and there's only one unit left (sorry, buddy), and I approach the woman working there and I ask, "Is that switch claimed by anyone yet?" She said no, and told me to go wait near the console.

Another employee comes by, unlocks the case for me, grabs a copy of Zelda for me, and I'm on the way to the register. My step gets a little lighter--I'm pumped! I didn't think I'd possibly get one on launch day, especially after working all night and missing the midnight launch.

Out of nowhere comes this old lady shrilly yelling, "HE WAS BEHIND ME. I WAS IN LINE FIRST. THAT SWITCH IS MINE." and on and on and on. Fuck, dude. That lady was nowhere to be seen.

But I'm not going to get into a yelling match with some old woman at Wal-Mart at 7:30 in the morning, so I just said fuck it and left. But her attitude and approach was so bad, I wish I'd just said, "Sorry 'bout it", and bought the damned thing anyway.

Called a few more places, but that was the last Switch in at least 50 miles.

Guess I'm waiting for the restock.

Awesome update!

I walked into Best Buy late this afternoon, just to poke around and kill time more than anything else. I hadn't called them when I was hunting for consoles this morning, because I figured if anybody would have sold out their stock, it'd be the local BB Happened to see a friend who worked there who told me they had a ton in stock.

There 8 behind the counter still, somehow. I managed to snag 2, one for myself and one for a friend who had offered to pick one up for me when he tried (unsuccessfully) to attend another midnight launch.

Set up wasn't too bad. I am downloading the zelda update now, so hopefully after I take my pupper on a walk I'll be ready to hop in!

Enjoy, everybody!

EDIT: The official Nintendo Carrying case is the fucking stinkiest thing I've ever smelled in my life. What the actual fuck.

Does the parental control app allow for a game-by-game overview of play time or does it only give a time played and games played without distinguishing for time between each game?

I'm trying to but it doesn't fit the grip. Am I supposed to press something?

Try looking at the grip from the top and line up the joycon with the rail that way. I had a little trouble myself too, the joy con was going in slightly slanted.

Edit: nevermind you got it. lol

Never mind, I got it. I just have to put it in the rail lol

Has anyone tested if you can still use the headphone jack when docked? I don't have an AV receiver, so I often used the Wii U pad's jack for headphone audio. Hopefully they don't shut the jack off when connected to the TV...

I know I said the analog sticks on the Joy-Con controllers were right in the middle between the Vita and the Wii U Gamepad, but I just held the Gamepad again for the first time since holding the Switch, and holy crap, the Gamepad's sticks are way better. The Switch sticks are definitely a lot closer to the Vita's than the Gamepad's (though still better than the Vita's).

Seems like a huge oversight not to have at the very least a front facing camera. That would even work docked. A lot of software can take advantage of cameras.

Seems my right joy con is dead. It was working earlier but I stuck them on the console to charge and now it won't even power on.

Already made the mistake of putting a wrist strap on backwards. If you value your joycons, please do yourself a favour and pay extra attention when putting them on... trust me.

Also, is it possible that constant docking and undocking of joycons from the console could over time cause harm to the joycons/console/both?

I've done just about everything I can think of to replicate the left joycon problem and I cannot. I even tested as far as 20 feet away.

Yeah indeed a very low bassy frequency. But I don't hear it without headphones.

Even weirder I discovered it is only the left speaker - right one isn't affected. I love the system but how do I get the feeling like I'm a beta tester lmao.

So how is the battery life playing undocked? That's been my biggest concern since the Wii U Gamepad was shit for power.

I'm happy with the battery, i can play way longer than i did with the wiiu tablet.
It's still 70% and it feels like i played 2 hours.

Also the sound quality from the system itself is high quality.

Lots of binding of isaac.

I kind of feel that I would rather have a small box, or at least making the standard Switch boxes able to hold lots of games by simply having more slots. Chances are, I'm just going to shove all the games I get into one case for ease of access / keeping
