Dude, you're going about this in 100% the wrong way, lololol. Can't believe you even got your way to work.

Hint: It's a
magnesis
trial.

lol, i know it wasn't the correct way to do it at the time i was doing it, but i thought it was pretty fun throwing bombs in the water to launch the balls

edit: so after receiving all of the runes in the beginning of the game should set me up for every other shrine in the game?

'bout to throw my Wii U out the window.

The hint is given by the painter in the stable near lurelin village in the faron region

for a more detailed answer
It's in hyrule castle near Zelda's room on the tower

Missed that stable. I'm at the castle so I just read your second spoiler. Thanks.

Is it possible to create food that has more than two effects? Or is it only health recovery +1 bonus all the time?

Seems like every combo I make with more than one effect food ends up as straight health recovery with no added bonus.

Nope, it doesn't seem like there's much value in combining a bunch of different ingrediants in my experience. My go-to process when cooking is to do 2-3 base health ingredients (apple, meat, etc) and then 2-3 of a particular buff ingredient (chili peppers, stamella shrooms, etc.), I don't usually use more than two different kinds of ingredients in a dish.

There's an internal counter of how many of each type of enemy you've defeated, the game respawns harder varieties of that enemy accordingly.

Awesome! I noticed that too. The white bokoblins are tough! But the stuff they drop is ace.

I feel like I may be entering some of these shrines too quickly.

Found a shrine with those orange glowing balls in water...spent like 20 minutes throwing bombs in the water to shoot the balls into the air to get one into the basket. That worked, then it opened a gate to the second room with the same set up, only this time there's an orange glowing button or something on the bottom of the water and now the basket has a metal gate on the top. I'm guessing there's an outfit for link to dive in water? Because as of now I can't do that.

Don't want to spoil anything for you, but I found this one really early on and you have
all the tools you need already.

Fuck I need to go back to get it then.

...

I don't remember which shrine it is...

do some other shrines and get 13 hearts then abuse the fact that the
master sword doesn't break, should help some anxiety with it. You'll have some down time as the master sword takes time to recharge when other weapons would have broke at that point

Are blood moons glitched? Had my first one, several hours passed, then had 3 within 10 minutes of each other while exploring around
Hateno
. No fast travel, passing time, etc.

I get them frequently and when I get one I usually get another one (or another two) in short order.

A typical evening playing I'll get as many as a dozen bloodmoons. They're so relentless and do disruptive that I'd take a point off my score were I reviewing it.

The
rito
divine beast was really disappointing.
no quest lead up to the dungeon and it was super short with a trivial boss fight
. Oh well.

I found the Spring in the Snow yesterday and wow. As if the game was't already cool enough you find a gigantic dragon on top of a mountain? BotW delivers too much
.

Alright I am resigned to do this and I don't want the exact answer but I'm in DB
RUTA
at the 3rd puzzle. I feel like I have tried and looked at everything. I even scaled my way past it and
unlocked the shortcut up the waterfall
. Am I just overlooking something obvious?

It seems like the wheel needs to actually spin. i have tried to stasis the ball and then some how lock it but it just hits the top for a split second then falls out. I just feel like this can't be the solution because you will break all your weapons just trying a few times.

So found the Fairy Fountain in the south last night...
Horse God is a good dude! Best dialogue in the game by far, super cool design, and he brought my dead horse back to life. Well worth the 1000 Rupees.

So that puzzle everyone posted a gif of, where the area gets flipped upside down?

Yeah fuck that puzzle, even using that tactic had a difficult time. Also, forced motion controls in 2017? Ninty please

Yeah, beat that last night.
The other three have actual quest lines, strange that the Rito one got left out in the cold.

Many people get stuck here, I know I did. Look at the map.

More explicit hint:
Move the trunk using the map.

You're probably having the same problem I did. I'll say this much:
The dungeon maps in this game do a little more than just providing a layout. Explore the map screen for a bit and see what you can uncover.

The former owner of the beast told you that by downloading the map you can
control the beast.

I showed up here not knowing what was to come. I had depleted my warm foods and I had almost no arrows at that point. Have to come back to it later.

Ty will try with the map. I thought I was opening these and that door would open but I figured out how to open it super fast once I realized it wasn't going to open by activating something.

e I believe. 100% not worth the effort :/
Yeah. Unless you absolutely need a certain armor to be super high level. You can probably get it to level 2 or 3 without having to use any of those mats but using all of your other materials.

That armor only really seems to have a special use against a specific enemy though, and I'm not at a part I need to fight them as often quite yet

I definitely got confused at that. Because it was the first one I had done.
Seems like the message I got from trying to activate the main terminal indicated 'mechanism not ready' or something I thought whatever was on the map screen wouldn't work yet.

What's the material you need for dye?

No specific material, just stuff that is the same color that you want to dye.

So black is nice because you can use flint. While is a little harder, all I have are diamonds (yeah right!), Silent Princess flowers and milk lol.

Totally worth the white ninja tho.

did a shrine yesterday, forgot what it was called, but there were a bunch of fans blowing wind, two metal boxes, and an orb that you have to get in a certain spot in a certain way

really enjoyed that one

Zora's Domain
last night. Starting the
quest to take down the beast
. I need to get the
20 shock arrows but this Lynel fucker keeps kicking my ass. I think I can sneak around him and get what I need but I feel like I should fight him. I'm not too far into the game and this would be my first dungeon
. I have 4 hearts and
Zora's armor
. I assume I'm just not ready for this battle yet? Maybe I need to find better weapons? I love the freedom on offer here, I just wish I knew more about what to equip myself with and when.
I had no idea what to expect from the fight but quickly realized I'm clearly not equipped correctly
. I have some random shit in my inventory from exploring but nothing amazing yet.

Probably just any material or ingredient with the desired color. Red must be the easiest, because you can just use 5 apples. You can use Chuchus for Yellow, Blue, Red, White...

You can get tons of white material at snowy areas like the northwestern one or Lanayru Mountain from Lizalfos and Keeses.

I think I might be taking my time a bit too much, I've played about 15 hours and I'm still in the second region.. Hope I don't get burned out half way through

Same for me actually, I think I've played close to 20 hours soon and I still haven't even completed the first dungeon. Just have done plenty of Shrines and exploring. I don't see myself getting tired of the game though and feels like I could play this the whole year.

I hope I get this bug so I can load up on
Guardian Shields and Swords
lol
I had it to a point where I could very consistently trigger blood moons. Which would have been helpful if not for the fact what I needed was being kept out of reach because the blood moon resets everything.

You don't need to
fight him. Just stealth grab the arrows. I fought and killed him, it isn't worth it.

So from easy to hard, how would you rank the dungeons? I've already done
flying wind one
so need to know how to proceed next.

easiest to hardest
1) bird dungeon

Very short and the dungeon is painfully simple and straightforward. The boss doesn't even seem capable of hitting the player. I beat him without taking even one hit.

2) goron

Dungeon required a little tinkering but nothing too bad. Boss was simple, and, again, I didn't even take one hit.

3) zoro

A little trickier but still not bad. Boss was pretty easy.

4) guruden

This is the only dungeon that I found difficult (I basically just fumbled around for 2 hours until I accidentally got through it) and the only boss that was even slightly challenging. I still beat him on the first go, though
