Same for me actually, I think I've played close to 20 hours soon and I still haven't even completed the first dungeon. Just have done plenty of Shrines and exploring. I don't see myself getting tired of the game though and feels like I could play this the whole year.
I'm in the same boat but I feel like I just don't know what I'm doing.

This may be a stupid question but is anything in this game randomized besides obvious quest and scripted items? I want to assume some of the weapon drops? What about enemy placement in the world? Are most enemies placed in specific spots a la Dragon's Dogma?

Sorry, I know this has probably been asked a million times, but is the Wii U version decent enough? Really don't fancy buying a new console.

Zora's Domain
last night. Starting the
quest to take down the beast
. I need to get the
20 shock arrows but this Lynel fucker keeps kicking my ass. I think I can sneak around him and get what I need but I feel like I should fight him. I'm not too far into the game and this would be my first dungeon
. I have 4 hearts and
Zora's armor
. I assume I'm just not ready for this battle yet? Maybe I need to find better weapons? I love the freedom on offer here, I just wish I knew more about what to equip myself with and when.
I had no idea what to expect from the fight but quickly realized I'm clearly not equipped correctly
. I have some random shit in my inventory from exploring but nothing amazing yet.

Definitely not worth the fight. I've been playing for like 30-ish hours and I just beat my first one (barely) in a different location yesterday. Intense fight - reward was good but not good enough lol... I pretty much burned through all my food.

You are most definitely not ready to do this fight. The assumption I have is that if you're at 4 hearts you haven't gotten many decent damage dealing weapons to fight this fucker and that you are using weak armor you likely haven't upgraded even once. He likely 1 shots you with most attacks.

If you want to absolutely fight him, either get stronger or bring better weapons and get very good with dodging

I've been playing on the Wii U for like 20 hours. There's some parts where the system is clearly struggling, but the game is entirely playable and able to be enjoyed.

'bout to throw my Wii U out the window.

Had the exact same thing happen. Hole-in-nope. Fuck I was mad

Man, I really need to find Hestu again. I'm constantly running out of slots for melee weapons. But how can I not? I have to have a torch on hand, as well as a Korok leaf, I need an axe in case I want some wood, and I need a two-handed hammer/club in case I spot an ore deposit. Doesn't leave a lot of room for much else, especially after I picked up some sick elemental weapons that I'm saving for a special occasion.

Also, I really appreciate how the towers are handled in this game. Beyond just having them be rare and not filling up your map with clutter, I like hoe either approaching one or getting to the top of one is a kind of puzzle. Some towers have a bunch of guardians you need to get around, or a huge group of enemies to kill, but others are just straight up puzzles, like the one
in the Gerudo wasteland that has wind blowing away from it all the time so you can't glide across the bog that's surrounding it
.

Thanks, everyone. I feel better now.

Pretty much how it went down. Thanks.

I just used a stealth potion and snuck around picking up the arrows. It's really easy that way if you just make sure to keep your eye on him. Plus you can paraglide right down to the dungeon.

No specific material, just stuff that is the same color that you want to dye.

So black is nice because you can use flint. While is a little harder, all I have are diamonds (yeah right!), Silent Princess flowers and milk lol.

Totally worth the white ninja tho.

Well fuck white, I'm gonna dye my Sheikah sneaking suit black.

'bout to throw my Wii U out the window.

I despised this shrine. I had to repeatedly reload my save because I would break every single one of my weapons trying to make the hole. Then I would get really close and realize one fewer or one more hit should be enough to make the basket - but my weapon would break and I would have to use another one with entirely different power and factors.

Worst shrine I've done so far.

Went searching for the Lost Woods tonight. Didn't find it, but I did find Hudson and killed 3 guardians, so a productive night.

The hudson sidequest was my favorite part of the game so far. I actually went to two regions without barely starting the DB quests just to find the right people. I completed it and it's my favorite place to go though...

But, I heard someone mention a
vacation home
a la the Bolson Hateno sidequest. Can I buy another??

Finally got the
Master Sword. I am glad to get a weapon that does not break completely.
My only gripe with this game is that weapons have terrible durability and because of that I barely use my weapons. I understand why the mechanic is there, but man it sucks when you get a weapon and it lasts for maybe 5 to 10 hits then it is done. Like c'mon weapons, in particular metal weapons, are normally not that weak. Other than that I am still enjoying the game immensely.

easiest to hardest
1) bird dungeon

Very short and the dungeon is painfully simple and straightforward. The boss doesn't even seem capable of hitting the player. I beat him without taking even one hit.

2) goron

Dungeon required a little tinkering but nothing too bad. Boss was simple, and, again, I didn't even take one hit.

3) zoro

A little trickier but still not bad. Boss was pretty easy.

4) guruden

This is the only dungeon that I found difficult (I basically just fumbled around for 2 hours until I accidentally got through it) and the only boss that was even slightly challenging. I still beat him on the first go, though
I agree with this.

This has made it where now I have a bunch of strong weapons in my arsenal and if I see a bunch of enemies they're so dtf (down to fight) but I just nope the hell out and run past them. Unless it's for a side quest or mission I am not fighting fuckers and risk breaking my weapons.

So now all of those cool encounters in the overworld I'm running past because id lose more than I gain

Bought the
house
in Hateno. Pretty disappointing. Can't even
fast travel
to it or use it as a
stable even though there's a stable outside.

Is there an in game clock to see how many hours you have spent playing the game? I'd like to know how much time I've sunk already :)
You can go to the WiiU home menu and access the Daily Log.
There, if you click on the game icon it will tell your total time played.

If someone knows of an in-game timer, please tell us.

Definitely agree, it's funny too because the difficulty of the bosses in the dungeons does not match this at all.

Zora had the easiest boss, then goron, then Gerudo, then Rito being the trickiest boss

I broke 4 of my best weapons trying to get that extra chest, at that point I just left. First Shrine to make me abandon. But it´ll be back!

So can we all agree that Octoroks are by far the most annoying enemies in the game? Where did these fuckers learn to aim?!

On a side not: fighting the stone minibosses with a fire rode is the most satisfying thing to do! Simply lit the grass around it on fire, let the hot air carry you above him and shoot him in slow motion with arrows! :D

I swear to God that their bullet home on you when you aren't facing them. I have been practically on the other side of a mountain and been hit by one in a river on the opposite side.

Considering almost every enemy encounter drops weapons you never really lose more than you gain, i have noticed that enemy weapons seem to somewhat scale with how many shrines you've done. Because at ~60 completed the random skeleton lizalfos drop royal bows and shit.

If you chop off the plant or whatever they're hiding under they pop up to say hello, and I just use the bow for ones in water. Trying to kill them with shield is too bs

By the way, someone told me you could use the
Gerudo Vai set
to withstand the heat from the volcano area, but you, in fact, cannot.
The set I mentioned only gives heat-resistance, while you need Fire-resistance for standing near lava.

Last night I was playing and thought "I be people on the internet are mad about Octoroks, they are so annoying in this game!!"

Doing the
blue fire
quest for
robbie.

Rained halfway through so I found a shelter and started a fire so I can rest through it. Took multiple rests to finally get a session with no rain.

Almost reached
robbie's furnace with the blue flame
and it rained again.

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU *incoherent angry noises*

I showed up here not knowing what was to come. I had depleted my warm foods and I had almost no arrows at that point. Have to come back to it later.

Haha the same happened to me. I didn't clear that part, just wanted to share my awe at what was there.

This is exactly what I do, unless it is absolutely necessary I do not engage in battles on the overworld. Which sucks because that is where the majority of materials to upgrade stuff comes from. It is a shame, if only Nintendo tweaked the durability values just slightly so they are a bit more durable, I would not have as much of an issue as I do with it.

rain doesn't effect the blue fire though

For everyone complaining, I personally fund the sparse use of music very effective. It helps capture the essence of the desolation and the expanses of wilderness.

Im most definitely losing more than I gain unless these random low tier scrubs start dropping the shit they're dropping for you. Because I snuck into a dangerous area and came out with like a royal claymore, royal spear, royal sword and already had like two giant elemental swords.

I've done quite a bit of shrines too. Maybe I need to do a bit more before they drop shit that's worth it for me

.

I bought everything for it, too, in the hopes that those goofy carpenters would GTFO, but nope. Still chillin like they own the place.

Question about the Sheikah armor set. I see in the inventory screen when I wear it that I get three "pips" of boosted stealth. Is that the maximum amount I can boost my stealth by, or can I go beyond that with food/elixers?

'Cause I'm not very good at stealth in this game. At all. So any help I could get there would be really appreciated.

Yeah, the dungeons
have a weird difficulty. The Camel and Elephant are so much harder puzzle wise than the bird/lizard. All were a lot of fun, but it seems like almost everyone does the hardest ones first. Which is odd from a design standpoint
