My favorite Wrassling Podcast is back after a five month hiatus. New Generation Project Podcast. Survivor Series 1992. Not a show you'd normally take a look at when covering the New Generation except that in the end it is a very interesting bookend to the insanity of their next PPV, which is Survivor Series 1997.

How long are the podcasts, usually?
They've been creeping up in length.
Before this hiatus they were getting in the 2-3 hour range when they started they were in the 90 minute range. Not ridiculous like The Lapsed Fan but not a quick overview like Review a Wai. More in depth on the why's and less gag driven like TLF.
Goddamn, if only he could wrestle good matches and really pay these moments off.
That's good. Definitely fitting for background noise during work.

If he could wrestle great matches he'd probbaly be retired. Granted he is not THAT bad. I mean he's better than Sin Cara and at least understands basic ring psychology.

Whoa whoa, tell me more about this podcast? New Generation is probably my favorite era and I often argue it's criminally underrated because the later parts get lumped into Attitude Era.

Miz has been a lot better in the ring lately.
Besides all that it literally doesn't matter if he completely flopped in the ring when he gets the reaction he does for the matches. Remember the type of nuclear heat he generated whenever he got it on with the likes of Sandow and Dolph? Go and watch those PPV matches and you'll hear the crowd go fucking nuts. Hell he had flashes of that earlier in his career when he had the crowd begging for a King title run and turned Alex Riley into the biggest babyface in the world for about three weeks.
Come to think of it I now wouldn't even mind Miz and Dolph terrorizing the tag team division after mania.

No, that's fine. And the match with Zigglers career on the line was great. I'm just saying I'll usually skip through a Miz singles match.
I'll defo be skipping that WM match unless comments say how great it is.
Miz's in-ring work is a little underrated. He's never going to be putting on Meltzer 5-star matches but he's competent enough to put on a respectable match with some good storytelling in it. And, if the WrestleMania 32 main event is any indication, you don't need to be a great wrestler to make it to the top.

Bryan still can't admit that HHH was right to call the audible and end his match with Orton after he suffered a stinger, even after everything that happened to him since then. He clearly has no regard for his own well-being because he loves wrestling too much.
Yeah. it was also annoying that Cena calling him out on stealing Flair's/Bryan's offence when he did it for story-line reasons. Still, I did like that someone finally brought up the fact that he debuted by almost beating Angle in the face of him saying he was treated like everybody else at the start though.
I definitely agree that a lot of people make it sound like The Miz is the worst wrestler ever. Dude is average, but not a disaster.
I think he's just never really learned the pacing of a match somehow. When he's in there with someone who can take charge, he's fine.
Three British guys go through all the PPVs from King of the Ring 1993 to Wrestlemania XIV. One show every other week rock solid for the past few years until this hiatus. One runs the show and does all the backstory and setup and match calling while the other two provide color analysis. They also go into WCW from time to time to help explain the story starting with Hogan showing up there, the formation of the NWO, stuff like that. They just finished Badd Blood and a Baywatch/Thunder in Paradise twice in a lifetime (The HBK episode of Baywatch) before announcing their road to Survivor Series 1997, which starts with SS 1992. Then they took this break but are back now.
Yeah, calling it a Death Valley Driver is a bit of a stretch.

And Miz's matches against Ziggler were also pretty good.
I was listening to some podcast in 2014 that compared Cena to the Ultimate Warrior and they thought that Warrior was better in the ring. People have some strange ass opinions out there.
I'm really hoping that becoming a father gives Bryan some perspective and makes him realize he needs to hang it up
Which makes the Ziggler/Miz matches even more surprising, because Ziggler is even worse with match pacing
Ziggler and Miz usually had good matches even when the crowd wasn't there earlier in the decade. Might be because they're good friends outside of the ring and maybe they train together a lot or something.
Miz also had fantastic matches with Dean.

I feel he's good at hitting some story beats in match but the impact of all of his offence is worse than Ziggler's. Still, it works for his character. He's pretty much the only mid card/main event heel on the roster who has an incentive to cheat in all of his matches.

Oh man this is going to be perfect for me. That WM is about when I'd consider the AE to fully come about, despite the McMahon promo being in December of 97. I wish people would realize that 97 was still New Gen and the 95->96->97 evolution is one of the best in WWE history.

Nah, Zigglers longer matches are usually fine and he can take control when needed, like that Elimination Chamber match. His TV matches suck because he gets all his shit in and he has too much shit. Fame-asser, superkick, stupid elbows, sleeper, zig-zag...
Yeah Miz isn't bad in the ring, but he's rarely ever better than "ok enough" which stands in glaring contrast to a lot of his promo work. Even the in ring character work barely has any juice to it. It's just standard heel stuff. He's not talented enough in the ring to match the quality of his mic work and I never expected it, but I did expect more than just a longer Raw match to finish a given storyline. I don't think it's unreasonable to be disappointed in that.
He is competent, you're right. My prob with The Mizzz is he's not believable. I know that's not a problem for some of you, and some of you are Kevin Nash about it, but that's my main prob with the guy.
