Just an FYI for everyone - make sure that when you get to a boss that you take a picture of it using your Sheikah Slate camera Rune or else you won't be able to get 100% of the enemy Bestiary compendium
I don't know why anyone would say that because this is clearly a zelda game, but you shouldn't use the dungeons to defend it, because they're bad compared to other zelda dungeons.
They're very simple and short, which is a shame, they're the low point of the game for me.
How on earth. They are a perfect length for me considering the whole game is about exploration and sitting in a same area for a long time doesn't sit well with that. Also, the spectacle of each dunegons setting and mechanic is great. I would absolutely take the set piece of each of these dungeons over the small key gated stuff from the past in the future.
I thought SS did a great job opening up the look and feel of a Zelda dunegon and I'm glad the team went even further with it. I get my puzzle fix from the crazy shrine designs they luckily don't need to justify for the strict setting of a typical dungeon.

I had a small mind-microblown moment last night concerning solving how to get on a platform in Akala
There was a platform full of bokobins, some with bomb arrows. It was quite the fight considering there were no stairs to get onto the platform so I could melee them, and sniping with arrows was a bit tricky because I could get my face blown up by bomb arrows if I was too slow. I ended up using the updraft caused by the bomb arrows setting fire to the grass to float and shoot them in bullet time.
But the real challenge was figuring out how to get onto the platform to open the chest there. None of the grass was close enough to the platform to create and updraft and float to. And there was no way to climb up there either, so I just stood there stumped thinking about it.
Right when I was about to give up, it started to rain and holy shit, the recessed area the platform was on started filling up with the water so I could Cryonis myself up.
These mini-experiences have been consistenly been some of the best stuff in this game
I havent played the game yet, only watched videos. And one thing that absulutely cant stand, is the positioning of the stamina wheel. As soon as it appears i cant fovus on anything else. Does anybody has the same problem and did it change when playing?

I've made steady advances in each of my four previous sessions (all 6-7 hours long), but tonight I felt I really improved as a player of the game.
Ventured into Central Hyrule for the first time, despite having no intention of going anywhere near the castle any time soon. I was at a loss for what else to do so I took a nostalgic return to the Plateau. From there I dropped down North and only then realised where I was. Decided I might as well just head for the relatively-close tower to activate it for when I returned.
While there I found a bunch of Koroks, spoke to some NPCs, gained some loot, practiced my battle techniques on some enemies and took a disastrous tiptoe into the colosseum
I am not ready for that Lynel. I'll return another time.
I then found the best shrine so far in my playthrough - Kaam Yatak. It's so much bigger than any other shrine I've visited so far, had a variety of puzzles, some enemies to battle and the loot! My gosh, the loot is awesome. So much better then anything else I've come across so far.
Best of all I defeated Guardians. The only ones I've been brave enough to take on so far were lodged in the ground in the Eastern Abbey on the Plateau and near Fort Hateno. I did face another ground-lodged one near the tower, against whom I finally struck a perfect parry return against the laser attack. After my first few battles of using bombs and arrows and the occasional, brave swipe of a sword, that one-hit counter attack was so satisfying.
Buoyed by this I decided to engage my first roaming Guardian. I was still too nervous to fight face to face so I climbed a ruin wall where the Guardian's sight was obstructed and took tiny amounts of HP away with bombs and arrows. At about quarter strength I decided to jump down and finally use a Guardian sword I obtained in a shrine. It worked perfectly and swiftly to destroy the Guardian.
I then accidentally stumbled upon another roamer and, having just saved and therefore with nothing to lose, decided to stand tall. I parried a laser, which took about a third of the creature's HP away, then used my Guardian sword to attack. When victorious I got my third ancient core
allowing me to upgrade my stasis ability.
I've beaten Guardians, mapped a new area, completed more shrines, found more Koroks and obtained powerful weapons up to 50 attack strength!
Very happy with this evening. I'm in no rush with this game so I have no urge to dash to Ganon or even complete a dungeon. I'm very happy exploring the world, taking side quests and competing shrines. The big, important stuff can wait.
Why is this the worst thing ever put in a video game?? Holy shit. I play soulsborne games and nothing has made me want to chuck a controller as bad as this. What am I missing here?
Is there a list of % chance of getting a special item from amiibos? Been spending like 30 minutes trying to get special gear. Only gotten a special weapon so far.

Head to Hateno Village. It's early on in the game, just past Kakariko Village. You'll meet someone there that will unlock all the features of the Sheikah Slate.

How do you use amiibos in this game... or on Switch in general? I'm holding my Wolf Link amiibo over the right stick while in-game and it's doing absolutely nothing.
Windwaker set. It's the only amiibo I have that has special armor. Might try for the ganondorf item a well but if it takes too long i might just forget about it.
Im debating whether to buy a Switch with Zelda or not, my last console from Nintendo was Gamecube, all the threads and comments about the game changed my mind about getting one, money is not a problem right now, i am just afraid to spend money on something i will get bored eventually, is it really worth the game console just for Zelda, btw i loved OOT and Majoras when i was a child.
It's because it's the only one that is even remotely complex and has a boss that made me break a sweat.
Lizard only has two orientations to switch into, the bird has 3 and the elephant only has 1 with a moving trunk. While the camel has 3 moving parts that each have 4 different orientations plus the tail. There are more combination of orientations possible with the camel than all other three combined hab

just can't seem to control the seal at all. And I always seem to slip out of the circle when the lightning hits. Then I keep killing myself by being to close when I shoot the legs. One time I got it down to one leg and ran out of arrows, lol..

Yea I feel you on this struggling. Took me forever loading my save over and over to get it. Then I didn't even like how it looked on botw link
Good luck with that sword though. I gave up.
