So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

Update went to bestbuy because they had an online pre order they wouldn't sell me Sunday or Saturday claiming it had to be held. Was the very first customer Monday morning and oh surprisingly an employee bought it. Fml. So mad right now.

That's kind of bullshit.

I'll check my Best Buy over lunch today. Going to pick up Super Bomberman R and see if they got any cases or Pro controllers.

Write a complaint. I'm sure they'll at least throw you some store credit. That's bullshit.

This thread is making feel a bit guilty. I have a switch sitting in my basement waiting for my birthday in April. Someone could be playing it right now... But if they aren't restocking till mid April, I'm glad I'm in the clear. Only problem is, I wish I got the neon one and it doesn't seem likely that I'll have a chance to "switch" it out before my birthday. Sorry to all those still looking. Good luck!

Yeah I was pretty pissed I didn't take it out on the guy behind the counter but I definitely left pretty ticked off lol. Well that was my grand plan to get a switch, I tried not to hype myself up but now I'm pretty disappointed. I could understand if another customer had beat me to it or if the person picked it up last minute but the fact that they said "nope an employee bought it" pretty much pissed me right off. Needless to say, I refuse to shop at that location anymore.

Woke up at 9 am got in my car and drove through the snow (nor easter) stood outside the store until open (15 mins or so, just in case) and was foiled by an employee of all things.

IMO, in person, the grey looks really really nice and feels very high end in your hands.

Yeah, I'm coming around to it. I loved the grey in the reveal and I thought the neon looked too kiddy. But the more I look at the neon the more I think, why can't I be that whimsical and open to fun? But can I pull it off? I don't know...

Probably not. The grey looks very inconspicuous and 'tidy' when docked and guests don't take notice to it when they come over (which I prefer).

Buy the Neon Joycons and sell your stock Grey ones for $60!

Here's my final tracking log from Amazon.es, it moved extremely quickly for me once the package shipped and I've heard that experience is almost uniform for all orders. Regarding customs, I've been watching Amazon.es reports for a week now and haven't seen a single complaint of a shipment being delayed for customs on either end; as you can see, it took almost no time in my case either. Good luck to everyone waiting on Switches from Spain this week!

i would have been livid if this happened to me

That's crazy!

So my work runs a prof am where you can get recognized for work above and beyond. This recognition involves accruing points so that about 1pt is 2 dollars. And you trade these points for merchandise (or visa gift cards).

And today neon switch consoles appeared under the title "NES", so I flat bought one right away. Never been burned before so let's see if this thing comes in...

So work bought me a switch, thanks work!

Nice, looks like it's going to be pretty quickly. My delivery date was Wednesday, but if I look at the path yours took it may be Thursday for me although Sunday could have affected yours even though it doesn't look like it did.

Hoping this snow on the east coast doesn't mess up anything, but it probably won't even be in the states until Wednesday.

Mine was supposed to ship on the 10th, but no movement yet. I tried chatting with support, and was told that "The Switch is not available right now, but will be available from March 18, 2017. This is why you have not been sent on the established date"

I sure hope it ships before that, and am supposed to get getting some more information.

That's a real bummer and kind of a shitty justification without some kind of apology. Hopefully there's a chance that Amazon is as confused by all of the stock issues as we are and they might be incorrect. My Amazon order delivery date is still showing as 3/17 even as my package is out for delivery today, so there's clearly a disconnect at some level.

It's against company policy. Tell the manager you're going to call corporate because they aren't allowed to do that shit

Amazon.es charged my card today for the order I made on Saturday. At the time, it said "back in stock on March 17." Now my order says delivery between March 15 and March 21, but no tracking or anything yet. Weird! I assumed it would take longer.

if they charged you, you're good to go. You'll get tracking in another few days... takes while to get any info on the orders.

Yeah, I called my bank ahead of time and told them what was up and they said they would flag my account so the transaction would go through. Plus my order says "preparing for shipment" but I don't know how accurate that is at all.

Should have done that.

It seems small whenever you look back, but when you’re living it, the wait for a new console shipment is excruciating.
I’m pathetic, I know.

Hmm I had made an order on Thursday, there was a pending charge on the account of like 2$ or something tiny from ES but now that is gone, still sitting at "pending ship" or whatever. I wonder if there was a problem? Looking less likely I will find one stateside retail so I am hoping that this one goes through :-/

I am personally waiting till about summer to fall before buying a Switch. I hope the stock situation is good by then and it will be quite easy to go out and buy a Switch no problem.

.....If I did that at my store I would be fired on the spot...............

I expect the summer to be relatively easier to find a switch then be hard to find again in the lead up to the holidays. Iirc, it was relatively easier to find the Wii in the summer even when it was sold out everywhere.

I've had an Amazon UK pre-order for a few days now. I had no idea Amazon ES had units in stock, now they've run out, guess I'll just have to wait

I'm glad I got in an order with Amazon.es but now I'm in this weird holding pattern point of no return where if I see something pop up like the Target listing a few minutes ago I can't buy it, haha. Feels bad.

How did people find out about the Target listing? Did they actually have any for sale, or was it an error?

I've been following the comment thread on the nowinstock page, it's really active and people are being super helpful in sharing stuff. The Switch was actually in stock for a few minutes earlier at Jet.com and people shared it too.

Also, apparently there's an eBay seller with a bunch of listings for $379 with free shipping to the continental US. Above retail + tax for sure, but not terrible if you just can't wait.

I can't vouch for this, but seems legit to me. 200,000+ feedback, 98% positive. Includes a headset that you could probably return somewhere or sell off. I'd say jump on it if you're considering buying from a scalper.

Package has been out for delivery for five hours now - 10 minutes before my confirmed delivery window begins:

UPS is now predicting errors in the future for packages that don't exist at any location. They're doing minority reports on their own upcoming failures.

Edit: I got confirmation that it's just a bug in their status system and the package is out for delivery in my confirmed window today; I assumed as much based on the weird circumstances, but it's still pretty funny

Just sold out on Best Buy Canada's site in less than a minute. I'm assuming these were unclaimed preorders they stopped holding.

Ugh, these scalpers are so pathetic. Ebay takes 10% off the top, and another 3% for paypal... that's $50 right there. Then, he has to pay shipping. He's going through all that damn work for ~$20, yet he's making people overpay by $80. Pathetic.

That's about how much I would have been prepared to pay if I hadn't preordered. Welcome aboard :)

I don't regret paying the scalper price, Zelda is fucking incredible. I haven't felt this way about a game since I was a child, to be honest. That's worth the price of admission personally.

nice, congrats! My tracking updated, it'll be delivered on 3/15 Wednesday. Woot

I didn't even factor tax into my equation above. These scalpers on ebay aren't even making money if they paid $300 + tax and sell it for $380 with free shipping! $20 goes to tax, $50 goes to ebay/paypal, and $10 goes to shipping! What a bunch of shitheads causing scarcity for NO REASON!

Where are you located? Check the Amazon Prime Now service if it's in your area. Pro Controllers have been available on Prime Now in Austin, TX since last week!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAWKYZ0/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Prime Now isn't supported in my area, unfortunately. I've been searching Target, Best Buy, and Walmart every other day for a week looking for a Pro Controller. Where is Prime Now keeping its stock? A local warehouse?
