Killer Instinct Season 3 |OT| Super Microsoft All-Star Bros for Xbox One & Windows 10

My buddy's saying I need to own S3 for cross-play, is that accurate? Doesn't seem right.
 
I'll reserve judgement on Shin Hisako's theme until I can hear it on it's own and clearly. Based on the combat videos posted by the official Killer Instinct YouTube it might be one of my least favorite themes in the game. It's all over the place and no portion of it really catches me.
 
Quick question, does Xbox Live credit work on the Windows 10 store?

I've been trying in the past to get KI directly through my debit card but for whatever reason, it doesn't work so I'll just get a pre-paid card if it works. Would have given up but man KIWC has got me so excited, I can't wait.

EDIT: Seems they do work. Kan-Ra, HERE I COME!!
 
Aww man, I hope that's not the case :(

It SHOULD work but I could see why they wouldn't want trial members to be able to access those discounts.

I haven't heard it, but I really feel like S3's soundtrack is largely crap. "Cellar Dweller" or whatever his nickname is and the other guy don't have Mick's touch.

Yep, the mixes on the official soundtrack don't help either, they don't focus enough on the highs that the in game music has. Hopefully we get Gordon back eventually.
 
I know KI is part of the play anywhere thing, but I remember they're being some issues last time I checked. Like you had to log into your xbox first to get a save file or something like that so that the PC version had all your purchases on it.

If I buy the S3 combo breaker pack off amazon which says its for xbox one (forza horizon 3 digital code says w10 and xb1) can I still redeem it on PC through the xbox app or on the MS website and still get the benefits on PC? I don't have an xb1 anymore is why I'm asking.

A: Yes. Any piece of content purchased for the Xbox version will be available on the PC version (aside from KI Classic and KI 2 Classic) and vice versa. Full Cross-buy, both ways.

You can use cdkeys.com, but it's offering it for 3.79.

Personally used (EDIT: Name doesn't even show up on GAF, that should give you an idea lol) and found a reputable seller. Usually don't buy from that site but considering no good site was offering it at such a low price, I took the plunge.

It's more confusing than it should be, atleast I'm making it that way.

I'll give a rundown.

-Bought some sort of KI edition that had S1, S2, and some other stuff on XB1 in 2015.
-Logged in to KI on XB1 to receive update and make sure everything is synced up before launching KI on W10.
-Launched KI on W10, all content is there (I do not own S3).
-Sold XB1 late 2016

I should be good then right? Since I've launched KI in mid/late 2016 on my old XB1 and I've already got my content on W10 anyway. The Season 3 combo breaker should be fine if I only have W10 version now right?

The total number of people playing online has increased since launch without decline. If you just want to pick it up and run matches online you'll be fine. It's like any other game where there will be peak times and times where your running into a lot of the same people every few matches.
If it's offline tournament play your looking for then it's always been a fairly low entry performer. Even during peak of popularity the majority of people play online. Luckily the netcode is solid.

If everything is synced up, then yes. You just need to buy the stuff you don't actually own which is the season 3 stuff in your case.

Yep, you can select it from inside the W10 game too, to be extra sure.

Yeah I mean how live is the "local" community? For tournament and stuff like in Combo Breaker, NWM, and just regular locals, etc.

Guilty Gear Xrd - Revelator - My not be the most active game online, but it has a great local scene in most places.
 
My only regret is not having gotten into this game sooner.

It's SO MUCH FUN. Every character just feels so damn powerful and unique, almost every match feels fresh and enjoyable.

Currently having a lot of fun with Orchid (THAT THEME), need to start getting the frame data down and practice some setups.

General RAAM also seems like a lot of fun but I think Kan-Ra is probably gonna be my secondary.
 
All I know is that Shin Hisako is definitely someone I want to try and use after seeing her breakdown. I can easily see her being in top 4 a lot since she is so mobile and able to maintain her pressure so easily from any distance.

I haven't played in nearly a year but I fought the same people in gold and killer over and over again so I don't know how well the population is below that, I'd assume much greater.
 
Is there a faster way to unlock parts and colors than leveling up in story or something? Helluva grind for someone who works a lot of hours to do.

I don't recall if that stuff is purchasable with gold but if so you could always use real cash to get them. Assuming your like me and hate doing that I suggest playing through survival. If you have double XP already (can't remember which versions of season 3 gave you that) then just buy one additional booster. If not then you can buy a 2X booster for quicker unlocks. Just bait the AI by hitting counter breaker during your first auto double over and over to get higher XP payout. On easiest difficulty. You can also break multiple combos, they almost always throw heavies.

It's slow. You can use KI Gold for most pieces. If you do the daily activity stuff KI Gold adds ups over time.
 
Given how much has gone into building the core game I doubt they'll scrap it all for a sequel at this point. I do think they'll have some type of update to coincide with the release of the scorpio.

I played Shin Hisako for a few hours and she has a lot of potential. First time I have really spent much time with the game lately.

Not sure what the long term plan will be. I will just say I'd be truly surprised if they actually made a full blown sequel. KI has always struck me as the little game that proved it's merit but MS still doesn't see as viable enough to give Gears or Halo level funding to.
