So what's the best recipes to sell for money that aren't too involved? Right now I'm cooking 5 apples at a time to sell for 50 Rupees each.

It is, but as I said, it's not moveset progression, which is kind of a dealbreaker for me.

Yes, this is something I also thought a lot about. Breath of the Wild offers many different ways of interacting with enemies, especially from a distance. But when it comes to 1-on-1 straight combat, Link's moveset is quite limited. Which is not a flaw per se, it's just a design decision.

I wonder if Zelda will ever have a more action oriented combat system, instead of the more puzzle oriented direction the series has taken since the jump to 3D. Breath of the Wild seems to be a step towards it, whilst Skyward Sword was purely puzzle oriented. The other 3D games were somewhere between BotW and SS while the 2D games, particularly Link's Adventure, were more action based.

Eventide Island:

That wasnt difficult at all! It was fun though :) Also, the Rito mini game afterwards is basically free gold rupees! Wtf!

Ugh this stupd shrine quest
where you need to get a snowball to cast a shadow, I keep making the snow ball too big where I couldn't get it to the right spot and would smash it trying to get it to cast a shadow

So I was looking for a stable and it starting raining. Twice I crossed path with different npcs on a horse that were just speeding in the rain, I could not talk to either of them but on both cases I followed them for a bit and they were looking for cover! I could only talk to them when they stopped and one of them even told me that he was going to rest because the rain was too much for his horse, the other one was wondering if shield surfers also practiced under the rain.

Ive seen on food npcs look for cover while in towns but I didnt know they would do it on the open.

there are 2 ponds of water near the platform thing ñ, i put a big snowball on the second one. I had to guide the snowball from high up using stasis and a small weapon.

Are you quite sure that snowballs are the only cold things you can create up there?

Why dont you
just use a little one but hold it yourself while being over a pillar of ice using Cryonis?

Finished all the way up, only ganon left, 120 shrines done

now I know I could have beaten his ass easily 50 hours ago but something tells me i should upgrade some armor first.
I already have 4 star barbarian and 3 star ancient armor but I think I'd like to upgrade the Tunic of the Wild to beat him.
Armor Upgrading has been a fantastic meta game so far, I 4stared the Rito, Gerudo, Goron and Barbarian Armor and id has always been motivating and fun, but honestly the mats for the Tunic of the Wild don't look very fun. and it's not like the TP Tunic would be any easier with the 33 star fragments it needs

I wonder if the DLC will be a new version of the zora beast, zelda mentioned at the end it was broken, maybe it will be repaired with a new interior layout and transforming gimmick or something.

I choose plan d

made the snow ball big enough where I can still lift it, and stood near the cliff with it over head and waited

Anyone know of a reliable farming spot for Energetic Rhino Beetle? I see people saying Rokk Woods and the beach south of Lurelin but they've given me next to nothing. 2 beetles in 2 hours. There's got to be a better way

Do you have your sensor set? I found 12 or so on the little cape running south and east from Lurelin. I don't know if time of day matters, but I was searching at night.

I will! I've never played Zelda and I didn't know what it was like. Definitely gonna drop it and do Nier Automata instead.

I'm not bashing the game or anything, I understand that isn't what it's going for. But I bought it at a friend's request [so I can give it to them after] and just mentioning I didn't like it.
BotW is the only Zelda game that doesn't have any move progression, in every other Zelda game you constantly get new items and new abilities as you play the game.

Ok, I'm doing it.

Now that weekend is here, I'm going to try to beat my 12 hour marathon record from last weekend. Also gonna try to cross dat 100-hour mark, hopefully w/o completing my third dungeon.

It kind of makes sense in this game as Link
trained to be a knight like his father, and he was choosen by the master sword. So he is already great at fighting and has nothing else to learn.
Technically Link is at the end game skillwise compared to other zelda games. Its also true in gameplay as there is nothing stopping you from killing the final boss right after you finish the tutorial.

I feel like while it's not traditional progression, this isn't true in practice, there's mechanics that only come into play as you go, like
masks offering enemy immunity, armour set bonuses, enemy health visibility, elemental weapon mechanics, boomerang weapons, arrow types (especially ancient arrows being quite rare until late), the plus rune abilities, the dungeon abilities, etc. I'm sure I could think up a few more. I'm sure some of that could be called out as a technicality, but it's a bit undervalued that all these things are not things you immediately have and can do.

It's just so awesome how they paid attention to things like....use a normal one handed sword on a black rock and it won't break, use a twohander, sledgehammer, axe, etc...it will break for sure. So many of these awesome little details. And so very unexpected from a Zelda game, that's why it keeps surprising me. I already know if other future games don't really have a few of those things....i'll notice it right away and miss them too.

Can I get a hint as to where to acquire a Noble Pursuit drink that this shrine quest in gerudo is asking for? Tried cooking and elixering a number of different combinations - also tried searching around both towns at vendors and just searching the general area

Noble Pursuit is
booze. You can't cook it. You have to find where it's served

There's a bar at Gerudo town the east side.

Noble Pursuit is an alcoholic beverage.

Shrine puzzle gave me an
explosive barrel tied to some balloons, implying that I should use a leaf to blow it over to the big destructible tower then detonate
. Nahhhh son

still looking for the last 2 memories, the horse statue one and the last one which is a generic forest with no particular marks...still forcing myself not to look up a guide though

Jungle :D
Active sensor when you will be there because some will be on trees.

Hah, that might be kind of fun to do before I shelve it.

Don't worry, we're not against different point of view, you explained your tastes without mentioning any "rivals" and that's good, so we were able to tell you what games might suit you better (we all love games so it's cool to talk to each other without hurting others tastes like you did). Have fun with Platinium games we had a tons with Bayonnetta and Wonderfull 101 :D (just beware, mastering Platimium controls-gameplay can be difficult but when you will they're very deep)

Fuck yeah after like my 20th try I beat that Lynel's ass!

Fighting the Lynel was super fun for me too.

I only had the clothes from the start of the game, weapons with ~30 attack, temporary hearts and a defense++ food.
I died like 7 times until I beat it. Felt like a dark souls fight.

I hope there are DarkNuts and Iron Knuckles in this game.

Don't worry, already beaten even Platinum game besides Nier Automata multiple times, heh. I'm big on their stuff!

And I'm glad Zelda exists, it's great for what it is, even if it's not to my tastes.

Man, the entire
Goron
quest including the village was pretty disappointing compared to the others I've done (
Zora and Gerudo
). Here's hoping the last one is up to the quality of the first two!

its not. Zora and gerudo are the best
Rito is the worst. Is almost non existant

So I did
Zora
first and I did
Goron
second. I'm curious what I should do next between the two remaining? Which one is easier? Which one gives better rewards?

(Reward spoiler)
rito for easier exploration, or gerudo for a nuke

Just finished the game, I have to wonder - am I playing the same game as you guys? It's decent, but by no means something astonishing. There's just so many things that I found incredibly mediocre about it. The story, voice acting, animation is incredibly mediocre and C grade at best. Zelda and the Goron's especially, just seems incredibly amateur.

As for the gameplay itself, four relatively short dungeons and a castle which you basically take the waterfall up to the top and fight the boss. Can you go the long way around? Sure. But why? There's no experience, drops are useless, the weapons that you have are likely to break on a single Minotaur, and guardians all over the place makes it just a hassle.

And that seems to be a recurring theme I keep running into. Why bother? If there's a group of enemies or a small base, there's no reason to even approach. If you need money (which you rarely do) you're better off blowing a couple ore up.

I'm likely going to go ahead and sell the Switch on Craigslist while the market is good for it. Was hoping this would be a game I would want to replay over again but... nah.

Oh hey, that's clever. I shot a bomb arrow at it.

(Although I also had the barrel over in the vicinity, so that helped.)

When you play the game as you mentioned, as a series of checklists to be completed and production values, then BOTW isn't your cup of tea as it goes completely against that mindset.

Everything you mentioned takes backseat to just the whole exploration and general experience of the game. The fact you can do pretty much whatever and at your own pace is what makes it unique.

Theres a lot more gameplay content than that, shrine trials have quite a bit of variety and use things like environmental puzzles and mazes. Yeah theres not a whole lot of incentive to do all of them but they're fun.

Different people like different things. The game really isn't about dungeons and fighting. It's about personal exploration and discovery. Maybe that doesn't grab you though.

It's really more of a successor to Zelda 1 than it is a successor to modern action adventure games or RPGs. That's what's so remarkable about it, in my opinion. I didn't think anyone would make that kind of game anymore.
