oh my gosh, you might have to go do something else first!

This game is huge. Come back to it later. I'm glad the game doesn't hand you everything you need on a silver platter.

Fuck your patronizing superiority guy. I don't need you telling me what this game is. I've been playing it now for over 70 hours. I wonder if you roll your eyes every time a boss room spawns more arrows too.

I have a problem with any puzzle that takes you halfway through and then penalizes you for not having enough consumables to complete said puzzle. A key item requirment would have at least incentivized me, not having any nearby arrows though is tedious and isn't impetus to go explore something else instead.

In this game? Yeah. If you aren't prepared, it's your own fault.

Go get some more arrows. You'll be fine. The fact that you've been playing for 70 hours and ran out of arrows is kind of crazy though.

Jesus man, warp to a town, buy some arrows, warp back. Coulda done that in the time it took to bitch on Gaf.

fuck your guys how can you run out of arrow after 70hr

Well shit. Using the guide, I managed to find all but 3 Korok seeds. Time to comb over this map again.

Also, does anyone else have Yiga members constantly spawning in? It seems like every minute a Yiga member spawns in for me. It is incredibly frustrating because their drops aren't worth it and neither are the weapons. In case it matters, I did finish the quest that involves
the Yiga leader.

lol, I was doing this maze thing. Got frustrated and just started climbing the wall to get my bearings, randomly dropped into a hole back into the maze and landed right beside the shrine.

I don't think I'm being too unreasonable to ask that a Zelda dungeon based on a puzzle requiring a BUNCH of arrows could at least supply SOME for convenience sakes. It's not a wild concept for a Zelda game.

If you're running out of arrows in this game, getting more should be your priority, you need them at all moments. The game gives you a fast travel to that shrine so if you really really want to do that shrine right now you can be back with arrows in 3 minutes. Come on.

I think that starts happening as a result of your spoiler.

I don't think you're being unreasonable. I almost ran out of arrows in a shrine too, but I tried to use bombs where I could. The game doesn't rain consumables on you like past games. I'm 55+ hours into the game and I'm always low on arrows. If you want to stock up, you have to go out of your way to buy all the arrows from whatever merchants you find or "farm" them off enemy archers, which are things I certainly didn't have to do in past Zelda games. I don't mind, of course, but I can see where you're coming from.

Yeah. I just did that. I have 66 now. I guess I just wasn't buying enough arrows (and for some reason automatically assumed they capped at 20) sorry for the attitude guys.

If this were a standard Zelda game, I might agree, but not in a game where fast travel points are everywhere, arrows are everywhere, and most of the "dungeons" are bite-sized. There is absolutely no excuse for not being prepared in this game, especially after 70 hours. Your next task should be to stop everything else you're doing until you've amassed a lot more arrows, which will take you almost no time.

Ok cool.

I knew some of the shrine quests were missable but really disappointed to see that side quests are as well. I can't unlock the 'Find the Fairy Fountain' side quest in Kakariko. I've already visited and unlocked all fairy fountains and despite taking a picture of the one near Kakariko, I don't get a prompt from Pikango related to the quest.

Is it? I got that quest a while after I had unlocked the Fairy Fountain. It could be tied to completing one of the Divine Beasts. Have you done those?

What the best place to farm
flame proof lizards? I need to gather 10 to get the fire proof armor from that guy. Does he really give you the full armor or is there a trick to it?

He just gives you the
torso piece
. Gotta get the rest from the store in
Gerudo City
.

Literally right there around him is the best place to farm them

If you've found the Horse God Mountain (it'll be labeled on your map even if you didn't go to it) to the South, there's a fork on the road there. One path goes up the mountain, one goes to a stable, and the other goes to a little wooded area where a person hosts a horse archery mini game. If you agree to play, he'll sell you about 100 arrows at a good rate. Then back out before actually playing the game and carry on. I pop over there on the regular.

That Southern Mine zone is just thick with lizards. Especially to the south.

Goron City you mean.

In past Zelda games Nintendo made you think you were exploring a massive world when you were really following a scripted path to a specific place. In this game, you actually are exploring a massive world.

You're right. Lol. I dunno why I even said that because I haven't been to Gerudo City yet.

I did my first maze, the one in the snowy region. It was pretty interesting as the game rewards you for trying to cheese it (running around up top and getting treasure/better vantage points) but is still designed where you have to run through it as well to find the exit.

Still trucking through with zero dungeons done. I'll do them... one day.

Unlocked the
NES-era outfit
via the
8-bit Link
amiibo.

It's so on point in this game IMO. Too bad there's no button
to make Link say "Excuuuse me princess!"

Really? I didn't think any quests were missable. There's quite a few quests I've completed before reaching the person who assigns them, and for everyone one I was immediately given the quest then given the quest cleaared notification. Are you sure you don't need to have talked to someone else or done something else as a precondition?

70h in, just arrived in
Rito
.

I cannot believe people don't like the soundtrack in this game. The somewhat minimalistic overworld music makes the village theme so much more powerful I nearly teared up.

Next Animal Crossing better have an orchestral soundtrack.

Neither did I, but I've got through my quest list about 4 times to make sure I'm not missing it. I have the camera, I've been to the fountain, I've talked to the guy, I've re-tried taking a picture of the fountain and nothing. All he says to me now is something about the gate to Kakariko.

I have official guide and all it says about this quest is to tak to him, follow him to the fountain and go from there. Obviously I appear to have been to the fountain before initiating the quest, so now I'm stumped.

If I'm remembering right there was a guy outside of the horse place near Death mountain that either traded or sold 3 that made you fireproof or something? I bought three from him, then bought the fireproof armor in Goron City. Honestly, I didn't really ever make any elixirs, just food items from mostly apples, meat, salt, and mushrooms which were more than plentiful.

That fourth or whatever quote. I won the Wii U way back when Burger King was doing a promotion on their website. I was able to trade it in for $150 at Gamestop (bringing the price down to $150), and had about $100 in trade in stuff. I've always been a big Zelda fan since the NES days, only non portable one I hadn't played was Skyward Sword and I really enjoyed the other ones (Other than The Adventure of Link.... love hate relationship). Figured $150 hassle free was a pretty safe bet and that if I wasn't a fan I could likely sell it for a good if not better price than what I bought it for.

The new Mario looks reaaaaly iffy to me, but I'm happy they're straying away from the "New Super Mario" style.

So you bought a console for one game and one game only? Thats unique.

I just finished all 120 shrines. The reward is well worth it. Doing all the shrines gave me more of the old Zelda game dungeon feeling than the actual dungeons and I liked them more than the dungeons. Even though the dungeons use some of the same puzzle styles, they end up feeling very different from the shrines, because of the beasts' functions. There were some really good shrines in there. I hope that the DLC dungeon is more like a really long shrine than another beast.

I kind of want to upgrade some of my gear now. It looks like it will be a pain to get some of those rare materials, though.

I also kind of want to get the Korok seeds. Just because there's also some puzzles you have to do to get them and I want to explore the off the beaten path places I never went to. That might take a while, though, because I really didn't get a lot of them in my play-through.

A couple more inputs would have gone a long way in making each weapon style more versatile - especially given that each individual one has a smaller moveset than N64 Link's.

A stab accessible with forward-Y both on the ground and in the air with the short swords, and a vertical slash used by pausing between the second and third inputs of the ground sequence would help round out its moveset; and allowing you to use the ground stab with spears that you get from gliding into an attack normally (through back-Y in the air); as well as enabling a horizontal sweep by pausing after the first input of its ground combo, would help significantly.

I can see the argument that the constrained viability of each moveset helps encourage spreading out and using different weapons, but with only three main styles in the game, it feels like a needless constraint. Also, a shield bash would have been great in a few situations.

I don't think anyone dislikes the village themes

There are a couple that fall on the more mediocre side (Lurelin, Gerudo Town) but the village themes as a whole are some of the stronger pieces in the soundtrack. Though I still think that the original village themes don't quite compete with the ones arranged from existing music, such as Rito Village's take on Dragon Roost. It's the same issue I have with the music in general - it's by no means bad, with several enjoyable tracks; but it's one of the few aspects of the game that fails to be as consistently impressive as the rest when taken in context of the rest of the series.

I got the quest after seeing fairy and opening her up, think u doing something wrong

110 shrines...so close. But I might have to break out a map for the last few, once I do all the shrine quests I'll have to find 3 more somewhere.
