Horizon: Zero Dawn | Screenshot Thread

This game is on a different fucking level graphically. There is nothing that compares, Jesus Christ.

Stupid question but how do you take portrait screenshots? Haven't found the option, best I could do is add the black bars. Are they just cropped?

Anyway, lttp, but here are some of my shots ^^ Photomode, sometimes slightly using the "vibrant" filter. Regular PS4.

Use View Roll. Roll it all the way to 89º. A toggle for Portrait mode and Shutter Speed options, to get that sweet motion blur for action shots, are two things PM needed to be perfect.
This might be asking a bit much, but I'd also love to see sliders for changing Aloy's expression. Or at least some preset options to choose from.

Is there a no-kidding definition or specific technique for how open world games make the environments appear very large, when in fact they are very small?

I'm talking about how they trick the eye into thinking the mountains or canyons look like they should but they are maybe a fraction of the real world size. I imagine its something like they do in Disneyland or Universal Studios by making the castle or Hogwarts look to scale but everything really just gets smaller as it gets higher. I started thinking about this a lot while playing this game, it really has a great sense of scale, which is part of why the graphics are so impressive. It must be a mix between some science and art.

I love the illuminated fog in the game. Looking over the landscape from an elevated position is always breathtaking.

And the jungle just looks like artwork at times...

Btw I'm still browsing this thread (just reached page 8) and I just want to give shout-outs to Eggbok in particular, I absolutely love your shots, dude/girl. <3

Perspective. For a given focal length (and, as consequence, field of view), you can manipulate camera/subject vs. camera/background distances to make the size relationships between subject and background change (as well as apparent distances).
