Horizon Zero Dawn Is Now Being Adapted Into A Movie Instead Of A Netflix TV Series, Confirms Sony

Kids will drag their parents to watch Mario, Sonic, and Minecraft.

Not fucking Horizon. And without the kids, no one but a few video game fans are gonna care about this. Why make this shit, why aren't any Sony people shutting this obvious flop down.

I called it

"Aloy, you play as her. She wouldn't win an Emmy for this role but this is 100% going to be a movie."

This is why I have no hope for the live action Zelda film. I expect trash, and I doubt I'll be proven wrong.

I can't wait for the meltdowns with this one. It's gonna be hilarious.

The thing with a HZD movie is that they only have time for a shallow story, a CGI fest without any substance. It will be real bad.

Somewhat disagree. Aloy(and the audience) slowly discovering how the world ended, how Sobeck saved it, and how Faro fucked over everyone, involved almost destroying humanity's chance at coming back deserves more than a 2 hour movie. Imagine if every 1 hour episode opened with 10 minutes in the past.

Also, TV is expensive these days. Shows like House of the Dragon, Loki, Severance are over $20m/episode. This is going to be so CG heavy, it's going to be expensive no matter which medium they choose.
That's also a valid point. A start-of-the-episode flashback scene like the earlier seasons of The Arrow would have been cool.

Yeah that first season showing how everything on the island tied back to Oliver's mission back home and the people he interacted with was really cool.

When they get to making Forbidden West, they could do a similar thing, but this time focusing on how the Far Zenith group left earth, how their civilization grow and eventually collapsed in space, prompting them to return to earth to steal the various subsystems that restarted life.

I hope Aloy constamtly turns to the camera and tells you what she's about to do.

The directing is going to be interesting too:
"Remember to always talk as if you are out of breath, and your tone should always be at some mid point between bored and annoyed".
"Sorry we'll need to get another take of that, you almost seemed likable in that last take and the Playstation people said that just wouldn't do"

Horizon really feels like such a forced franchise. I think the first game only got by on robot dinos. The game sucked so bad, the story, the characters, the incredibly woke nonsensical plot/world. I suppose the actual fighting was 'decent' when it wasn't bogged down by ubisoft levels of generic moment to moment gameplay and systems. But it had cool robot dinos, so i and pretty much everyone i know was sold on that. By the time the second game released, i only knew one person who bought it, and they had nothing good to say about it.

So I really don't think this movie could possibly be for, except if general movie audiences fall for the same trick of cool robot dinosaurs.
