Nintendo Direct on April 12 (3PM PT, Switch/3DS, mainly Splarms)

Most of us were already thinking May for ARMS. But with Splatoon 2 getting a fair bit of focus in this Direct, I wouldn't be surprised if Splatoon 2 ended up coming out in June. Though to my knowledge, there was a listing saying that Splatoon 2 was gonna be in the 2nd half of 2017, so July could be a possibility.

they could announce a July release window and another weekend of testfires

This is what happens when Nintendo explicitly mentions 'main focus on Arms and Splatoon 2'. 90%+ of this list won't happen, even at E3 alot won't be mentioned.

Prepare to be disappointed.

I always do lists like this. It's the best of the ND hype, I love making absurd lists, and also reading other people's absurd lists, like Nintendo Direct Bingo's.

Nintendo Direct Hype is the best hype.

ARMS - May, two new characters revealed (out of 12), new modes

Spla2on - June, new weapons and modes, story details

Smash Deluxe announced
While I'd absolutely love a Smash 4 Deluxe reveal in this Direct, I still feel like they'd want to save that bombshell for E3. That said, we're starting to see more signs of Bayo, Cloud, & now the 2 Corrin Amiibos being a thing sooner rather than later.

At last !
Give me CPU in Splatoon to play offline please...
Since there's no way they'll make it splitscreen let's at least have that if possible.

I imagine we'll get an announcement of the final three 30th Anniversary Zelda Amiibo. Those being Majora's Mask (Fierce Diety?), Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword.

Not overly enthused with either of the two headliners at the moment, but considering I was expecting jack til e3, any update is appreciated.

Would love if any surprises somehow had ANY connection to the Bayo-stuff being revealed tomorrow, but that'd be too much like right...

smash 4 switch.. would hardly be a bombshell. it would sell for sure but it wouldnt be something to make the headlines at e3. also it would be a good stopgap between arms and splatoon 2 or splatoon 2 and mario odyssey

Hopefully we get an ARMS online test too.
This, please. I'm curious to see if Nintendo goes with rollback or delay-based netcode for ARMS (please be rollback).

Oh right, I almost forgot about those. With the Best Buy listing for those 3 Amiibos, I'd be shocked if we didn't get them announced in this Direct.

Why? And please don't say because USFII is coming in May.

Lol ofc it's not because of that. It's simply too late in Spring, they won't talk about everything the game has to offer in the direct and they need more time than a mere month to communicate about it. I expect a mid-June release.

I can totally see the Smash logo appearing at the very end of the direct.
It's time for more Amiibo as well.

I'm thinking we may see the 3 unreleased Zelda 30th anniversary amiibo. Best Buy did recently list 3 new (Zelda) amiibo for a short time before removing them.

June for Splatoon 2 doesn't seem realistic to me, especially considering "Summer" usually means Q3 which means it could release anytime between July-September and still technically be a summer release.

I kinda want it to release later so I have time to play games in my backlog first lol

I think they will reuse the one from the first game...
We already know it's going to be new just based on the couple of snippets we saw in the reveal trailer.

All aboard the Nintendo Bowser hype train.gif. I love Nintendo Directs. Guess this will be the last Direct before E3 live showing

That's my only worry is that they'll want to show it one more time at E3, but I'm hoping they'll have a demo for people to play and advertising is good enough to ship it before E3.

They already confirmed it's a new story mode....you know because this is called Splatoon 2 aka a sequel aka a new game.

Anything Smash would be hype, especially if it meant new characters. Of course, if it's just the Wii U/3DS roster + all of the DLC characters, then you'd have more of a point.

even with some additional characters (springman, inklings anyone?) I dont think it would generate as much hype as a new smash. so yeah a direct would be a good way to announce if its just a port with some characters.

if its a new game from the ground up then e3 would be ideal

You guys are getting too hyped over this presentation and you all are going to be severely disappointed when its mostly gonna be splatoon and arms.

I'm hoping that this direct sells me on ARMS. I like it, but it hasn't brought me in like Splatoon and its first trailer did. Looking forward to Splatoon 2 though and the possibility of getting some Switch online info.

I expected nothing until E3, haha. This is very welcomed!

My guesses, that could happen:
- Arms (obvious)
- Splatoon 2 (obvious)
- Mayo Katy 8 Deluxe (releasing in April)
- Fire Emblem Warriors (new info)
- Fire Emblem Echoes (coming very soon)
- Pikmin 3DS (new info + final name? + expected launch date?)
- Ever Oasis (new info)
- New 3DS game
- New Switch game
- Switch online info
- Virtual Console
- Third parties we already know
- New info for E3

May not happen, some I would like to happen, some don't care (trying to be realistic, the megatons will be in E3):
- Smash 4 Switch announcement
- Mario Odyssey new trailer + info
- Bayonetta 1+2 Switch (tomorrow @ Steam (only Bayo 1), the day after tomorrow at Switch (both))
- Xenoblade 2 new trailer + info
- Shin Megami Tensei Switch new info
- Persona 5 Portable announcement
- Pikmin 4
- Pokemon Stars/Eclipse (I like the eclipse name, and sounds much better) for Switch
- Another Wii U port
- Level 5 new games for... 3DS
- Netflix, Youtube,... for Switch
- Skyward Sword HD for Switch
- Some new third party ports

I lost it at "trying to be realistic". O_O

There will be Arms, Splatoon, Pikmin 3DS, Fire Emblem Echoes, one new game and maybe they'll bother explaining how the online works and when VC is coming.

I was really let down by what I played of ARMS, I'm not feeling the motions controls at all. I hope they'll talk about the buttons controls as well.

It was confirmed to be a new campaign. Plus Splatoon 2 is a sequel, not a port. Why would it have the campaign from the first game?

Seems like I'm wrong, I was under wrong assumption then. Whend did they confirm it to be a new campaign?
