Nintendo Direct on April 12 (3PM PT, Switch/3DS, mainly Splarms)

http://boards.4chan.org/v/thread/372872764/nintendo-direct

I'm saying atleast it makes some sensible sense. Unlike the other 4chan rumor has things in it that aren't possible.

No, the other rumour if anything makes more sense, nothing in it is out of the ordinary or impossible.

Nintendo releasing 80 VC games at once is completely ridiculous if we go by their VC strategy that they've stuck to since the very first iteration of the VC.

?

In which universe does 80 VC games make sense? There'll be 10 games when VC launches and then they'll do 1-2 new titles a week as per usual.

? Nothing in that first rumor is surprising or outside the realm of possibility. It's so by-the-numbers that it seams really plausible.

I would think Smash Bros for new 3DS is a fairly insane prediction. 80 VC titles sounds a bit more plausible to me than Smash Bros for new 3DS, when the 3DS already has this Smash and it plays fine on the new 3DS.

For the record I believe they are both bunk.

Did the person making that second leak forget that the direct is mainly focused on Splatoon 2 and ARMS? Did they also forget that the 3DS is a thing?

Scroll down to see the full "leak", they split it up into multiple posts. Plenty of 3DS content mentioned there. Doesn't make any of it real, but it's there.

Though i guess we can draw an example from Animal Crossing New Leaf: Welcome amiibo. That was a rerelease of an already existing 3DS game, kind of like the supposed "Super Smash Bros for New 3DS". It isn't outside of the realm of possibility but I don't quite believe it.

New 3DS even has enhancements for Smash like faster loading and C-stick inputs.

Honestly, it would be so weird that it wouldn't shock me if it happens.

So which one is the more credible leak? I can't open either of them for some reason.

Just assume they're both equally wrong and expect ARMS and Splatoon 2.

But wasn't the "Wecome Amiibo" version of AC basically just a way for them to re-package things? Smash for N3DS would practically be a brand new game.

I would think Smash Bros for new 3DS is a fairly insane prediction. 80 VC titles sounds a bit more plausible to me than Smash Bros for new 3DS, when the 3DS already has this Smash and it plays fine on the new 3DS.

If Smash Bros. does get an enchanced port with new characters that the original 3DS can't handle, I can see Sakurai doing a N3DS only port with the new characters because "handheld parity"

Leak seems fake based solely off the Splatoon info. The "Splatterstamp" thing they detail just sounds like the Splashdown special.

HOPE THIS IS TRUE! I'm sooooo thirsty for VC

I'll most likely be driving home when the Direct starts tonight! Oh no! I'll need to put my phone/watch to Do Not Disturb. Twitter notifications would drive me up a dang wall.

As none of our current control options for Switch have analog triggers, we can't have Gamecube VC just yet. They'd need to give us support for the controller adapter and/or a wireless GC controller. Give me Wavebird 2.0 Nintendo!

True, but I could see Gamecube VC games and that Wii U adapter support coming in the same announcement.

none of them are remotely credible. it's just a fun game to point your personal BS detector at them.

To be fair, 4chan rumors have been pretty accurate for Nintendo stuff for some time now. The problem is there are usually multiple different ones from different people, and only one is legit.

Most of these supposed leaks just have too many other games. No way they are going to release that much additional information in a Direct dedicated to Splatoon and Arms.

Based on what was announced I'm literally only expecting Arms and Splatoon 2 information. Did they actually say to expect other stuff or are people just getting their hopes up?

"Pretty accurate" is a huge stretch for two leaks right out of hundreds.

No way in hell. First of all, that Direct would be like 90 min. long to get through all that. Secondly, it's mainly an Arms/Splatoon direct. We might get a couple other things but not all this. E3 directs don't even have this much crammed into them.

I'd like it to be real, but it ain't.

It's a worldwide Direct, and those always- I believe without exception- have at least one new announcement. It could be a 3DS game though, so don't expect much.

But yeah they will talk about a bit more than just ARMS and Splatoon 2, especially if that 35 minute runtime is to be believed.

Metroid II being one of the rumored games makes sense because they just gave people 30% off vouchers for the metroid games on my nintendo for 100 silver coins, so it falls in place.

On a side note seems like all of the other Nintendo leakers are MIA these days.

A lot of them got a lot of backlash from that January presentation, I don't blame them for backing off for a bit.

Better to post anonymously and not get endlessly harassed for getting some info wrong.

If there are virtual console releases, I pray they can somehow pull purchase data from Wii-U/3ds accounts.

I mean... Nintendo absolutely has the data on the games we've purchased, it's just whether or not they plan to do anything with it! When VC does eventually hit, I expect an upgrade fee for titles we already own.

I like that they don't even show the date modified column despite the fact that's piss easy to change on OS X.

Speaking of OS X (wait, it's Mac OS now isn't it), the original directory leak that turned out true was taken from a Windows desktop. The leak that used Mac OS (or was I still on OS X back then) was the parody I made.

Never even heard of Ever Oasis. Looks kind of dope.

Wish they would start doing simultaneous 3DS/Switch releases because I LOVE(D) my N3DS, but it's so hard to pick up post-Switch.
