But he trained on an island. Think about what Goku did to get to SSB. Goku SSJ should be leagues above the SSJ from the Android Saga. I would except if C17 reached this level on the island with his training. But SSB is too much!

I even thought that the Freeza Power Up was silly, but accepted that he never trained before and got stronger. Same thing again with C17? Not with earth's gravity level.

I can't wait to see the reactions when Roshi fires a Kamehameha that makes Goku go "Wow, Master! Your so strong! I had trouble even keeping up with you in SSB form."

Kuririn talked about training with Roshi for the Androids. The anime added a scene afterwards where Roshi refused though, but there's just no follow up to that comment in the manga.
But Goku is the Super Saiyan God and Vegeta is clearly Whis's preference for next God of Destruction
That's cause they haven't meet 17 and 18 really yet. I mean if 17 is as strong as SSBlue Goku training by himself, and Freeza turned gold by training only 4 months, clearly there are beter options than Saiyans.
And on more than one occasion, Beerus commented on how troublesome the Saiyan's personalities are.

And that will still make more sense than 17 but that will never happen. This arc is clearly for Gohan, Buu, 17 and Krillin.

Not really, they were getting a bit too overplayed in the last arc. Give them a rest for a bit, it'll make their comeback funnier

They're not as present as they used to.
But then again the next big development with them is probably Mai x Trunks, and since Trunks is not a main character in this arc I guess it makes sense that the gang would stay in the background.

Don't worry. They'll be the ones taking care of 17's island in a hilarious one-off episode right before we find out who wins the tournament of power.
They were in the Bra episode, I assume they will go with them to the tournament (if they can bring anyone)

They were around in the episode that took place while Goku was hanging around in Bulma's home.
Besides, Toei doesn't seem to like Trunks x Mai, so if Toriyama hasn't written any actual development for them this arc they'd probably get nothing, just random comedy scenes.
It always saddens me when I see a Dragonball fan who hasn't read/watched the original series.
It gives context to so much, makes you appreciate the world and characters of DB much more than DBZ ever did.

Future 17 accidentally destroyed the mystical island where present 17 trained.
I really hope that when all hope seems lost, Roshi uses the evil containment wave to slam Jiren out of the ring. Roshi getting the big win and being the protector of the universe would be great.

Tien's gonna give SSB Goku gonna get that Cell treatment when he busts out the x100 Tri Beam. I'd be fine with it cause that move has always been portrayed as the most effective bang for your buck outside of the spirit bomb.
