Call Of Duty WW2 reveal 26 april, website up [UPDATE: Leaked screenshots]

Wait thats gonna be the real name?

MW
AW
IW
WW

There is so much iconic imagery from World War II. They can do better than generic soldier staring on the front of the box.

Don't expect much beyond that

Advanced warfare was my second favourite COD. But honestly im glad they're moving back to more traditional movement. Also excited to play a new WW2 game.

I'm the most interested I've been in a COD since the first Black Ops, so I'll be watching this. Doesn't hurt that AW was the last good COD either.

I really, really hope they can include some perspectives and stories that haven't been told in other games. Like, I'll play through Normandy or Stalingrad again, but I'd be one thousand times more interested in a campaign about segregated American units on the Italian Front or the Soviets' war against Japan. One aspect of CoD 3 that I loved was the inclusion of Allied perspectives which aren't seen very often in media.

So seems like now WW era will be popular for 5-6 years for COD/BF and then gamers start complaining about too much WW era shit, and then they go back to modern/future warfare :)

I never thought I would be saying this but I'm legitimately excited for a new WW2 shooter. It's amazing what taking a break can do to create pent up demand. This game is no doubt going to sell like crazy.

Also does anyone else think that the title implies that going forward they will do a different theater of war. Like next year (or next Sledgehammer) will be Call of Duty Vietnam for example?

Off topic but Infinite Warfare's campaign is one of the best in the entire series. Give it a go if you ever, somehow, somewhere end up playing it.

I am trying to think of another franchise that started out doing a thing, went away from that thing for a long time, then go back to the original thing but pretend its like the first time they did said thing.

This could make me buy a CoD game again, first since MW2.
I loved CoD 3 so hope it's like that with current graphics.
