My guess? They're rebranding the whole thing. Probably calling the new model of the Xbox One the Xbox 10.
Edit: Think I posted my thoughts in a diff thread. I'm of the opinion that Microsoft needed to rebrand with the Scorpio launch. "Xbox One" carries a lot of baggage. Plus, they want the Scorpio to be -the- console to buy, not just an iterative step on the older Xbox like how the Pro's being treated. Changing things from Xbox One to Xbox 10 would definitely accomplish that, without creating confusion over the Scorpio being a whole generational step.
I get that. Why not just call it Xbox 10? Why the S at the end?

That's like saying you don't hope the console has better resolution than 1080p because you have a 1080p set. USB-C is the future and you are talking 10 USD you can handle it.

Hmm. Thinking more about this -- this could be a big reveal regarding Microsoft's plans going forward. New platforms released alongside OS releases. Major joining of PC + Console. Go full Apple, where you launch your Xbox 11 with Windows 11 and then two years after launch your Xbox 11 S hardware revision. 2 years after that, Xbox 12, etc.

I'm with you. It isn't going to be called Xbox One 10 S, folks. That is nuts. If the 10 has anything to do with the name, then Xbox One X is the likely answer.

I'm all for it so long as there are solid anti-cheating mechanisms in place, and an effective way of splitting KB/M and controller users up.

But MS has already said they'd allow cross-play, so it's not just "hey, we'll let you play with PS4 players if Sony approves". There's something else at play.
