I just hope there is far more to the game then say riding to each area/town, explore the empty place, then get attacked by the zombie horde out of nowhere.

I'm sure it won't be that simplistic, though.

What I mean is, sure there should be more to do there than tha gameplay sugests, but the tone is that one. Serious gritty stuff

Days Gone came at the wrong time, IMO.

Zombie games were already getting a bit stale, and the PS4 already has one of the best Zombie games in TLOU Remastered and TLOU2.

Unless it does something super different - more than just having large mobs - I'm not sure why I should be excited for it. The story doesn't seem super notable, and we've only seen one chase scene of gameplay.

Thank god I'm not you.

It's not that bad actually lol.

What kind of games do you like or want to see because it is pretty rare to see someone that was disappointed by last year's conference as the vast majority loved it.

I absolutely loved the new Spider-Man, I'm a huge fan of Insomniac and they are probably my favorite western studio. The rest? I thought the new God of War looked awful, Days Gone didn't do much for me, Kojima's new game didn't have gameplay so who cares, Horizon looked cool but it looked cool before, Detroit is David Cage so LOL. I'm sure they showed other things, but it didn't do much for me outside of Spider-Man.

But that's like my opinion man, I know I'm the minority when it comes to last year. And as for games I want to see, I'd love a lot from Japan and the new Sucker Punch game. More from the new Spider-Man game and that's it. I'm an easy guy to please. But more than anything I want to see gameplay, I'm tired of CGI announcements of games I'll be playing whenever.

Sony as a whole is becoming TLoU actually

Jim Ryan even became a zombie-like creature and has been giving brainless answers at interviews

Going to be alot of variety in Days Gone

Brutal sandbox combat

Exemplifying true, free-form gameplay, Days Gone offers freedom to explore, strategize and play "your way." Every challenge can be approached and completed in an almost infinite number of ways.
Unique enemies

In addition to human Drifters, marauders and militia, Deacon must face a wilderness overrun by Freakers – mindless, feral creatures, more animal than human but very much alive and quickly evolving.
Unique setting

The harsh high-desert of the Pacific Northwest offers a large variety of environments in a single geographical area. One minute Deacon can be riding through a pristine forest, a snow field, a lush meadow, and the next, be in the harsh desert lava fields.

Isn't Detroit in third person and serious? Damn another TLOU game.

Sorry. That was childish. People say they are tired of Zombie games but how many AAA zombie games are there? I've only played TLOU and Dying Light. I'm not even gonna bother playing those early access games that's all over the place.

Detroit will at least have David Cage humor thrown in.

The PS4 does not have and exclusive open world zombie game and no this is not the wrong time at all.

THANK YOU. People had been saying this for the last 10 years, similar to the whole Oh god another World War 2 game, we need something new. Every game is saturated everywhere but in the recent years, Zombie went away, even the survivor early access genre is focusing on battle royale. 5 years ago, maybe.

Deep Down or whatever it's turned into... March 2018

Gaming isn't the same without a ARPG in March. Maybe that's why FROM, allegedly, isn't showing anything as well... The next 9 months is loaded with games... It'd be better for Sony to spread it out.

This would be under the impression that its exclusive to Sony's console, which we don't really know.

Either way if it was coming out next year at any point, it would be shown this year. I just don't think its that close to being ready yet which its unlikely to be shown this year.

And unless something has changed between February and now, its not showing up this year.

The PS4 does not have and exclusive open world zombie game and no this is not the wrong time at all.

It didn't seem super open world in the demo, so forgive me for missing that.

Hopefully they can make it stand out - I'd be more interested if they had a more unique protagonist, personally.

I really didn't like the Days Gone presentation from last year, though I'm giving it the benefit of doubt since I assume it was a early build. Hoping that this year will be better.

Really excited for Spider-Man. I remember being caught by surprise when Arkham City was revealed years ago, open-world with really cool camera angles and traversal mechanics, I thought it was absolutely amazing. Hopefully Insomniac can demo something that has the same kind of impact on me.

Days Gone is the type of game to sell 5 million copies with a 10 page NeoGAF OT. It has the potential to be huge and I think everyone here will continue to sleep on it.

Yep. After the success of For Honor and Wildlands we gotta stop thinking GAF is the measuring stick for a games interest or success.

Lets hope Sony distances TLOU2 and Days Gone by a year or two. Let Days Gone have the spotlight and convince people that it's something special. This E3 they have a chance to do just that.

Normally in the events section on PS4 there will be one for Sony's E3 conference to join but not this time, Ubisoft is doing for there event but Sony isn't this time. Pack your bags everyone, no leaks no registering through PSN. Sony are not hyping this conference so I'm expecting no new announcements. MS on the other hand are killing it with hype, it looks like they finally got their cheque book out and ate Sony's lunch.

I'm going to be honest here, I REALLY can't tell if you're joking or what.

GAF being meh on a AAA game is usually a good sign that it's going to sell well :P

Honestly, I think Days Gone will do just fine. It has plenty of traits the mass market loves and a very competent developer behind it. If it gets solid reviews and marketing, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it sells as well as Horizon.

I think for Days Gone to win favor at E3 it needs to surprise people. Like, people think they know this game which is why the reception is maybe not great so far, so they should use that to their advantage. They should focus on gameplay features that make it distinctive, and not on story as it will be very hard to win people over that way. Also, making it playable would be huge.

A linear narrative focused game vs an open world game. About as different as games get.

It'll sell more than horizon I'm confident in that

Well it's the weekend. We're nearly there. Glad nothing's leaked this far. It there's still time :p

Would be really nice to keep it that way though. It's rare these days that conferences aren't spoiled earlier.

Have you heard anything about the premise of the game?

Joke post?

We have seen one gameplay trailer for the game and we're writing it off? Zombie games are not stale, they will always have a place. All you need to do is make it unique in some way, come up with a new way to interact with the world other than killing zombies. Don't be so narrow minded.

lmao this is kinda depressing for sony gaf, the xbox thread has a hype train and people teasing stuff on twitter and we here have basically nothing :P

Eh, that's partially true, but honestly over the last 2 years I noticed that Phil likes to be vocal on twitter but ultimately their conferences always underdeliver [imo of course] while Sony often likes to sit quietly and then drop the bombs during the actual conference.
