Dragon Ball FighterZ - Gameplay Footage - 60 FPS Direct Feed

Yeah all fighting games absolutely should be dubbed. Too much banter during fights would go untranslated. Especially from arcsys where character shit talk is at it's peak.

I keep rewatching footage and...

Gohan's intro is awe inspiring so I don't understand how they let Goku's butchering happen.

I get it's an homage to Z's opening creditz, but it looks so stiff, and the base model looks kinda bad compared to everything else in the game.

That makes playing blue Goku mandatory. Or never having Goku as first character lmao.

Maybe that's why, it's so that people pick different starter character.

this is honestly getting abnormal my dude. relax. it's just an understated intro which is fine considering how many dramatic ones there are. I personally really dig it. no one's going to be seeing these after they've played a session or two anyways lol

There needs to be matches to decide which voice sets to use at EVO.

Have a tournament between JP lovers and Eng filth.

No but Goku is the main character and he's also a character I want to play so I admit I'm a bit sore when I see that everything else looks perfect and this looks pretty bad outside of the special effect.

It's jarring to me.

I love that the wakeup super

Is basically this

Not a fighting game fan, but this definitely brings back budokai on PS2 days. Me and my friend put in hours. I'll try to get in the beta to give it a shot.

You should see how he acts if 17 is involved :P

thats always a funny reason (and a common one) people seem to prefer the dub

Nozawa is definitely an acquired taste, especially for those used to the funimation dub. I think she does a really good job and she's really grown on me, but I remember it feeling awkward when I started watching subs as well. She definitely does a better job with Goku Black than the english actor did in Xenoverse 2

I just don't get how people likey Schemmel's overacting

and I can't stand his recent entitled comments, like wtf dude just listen to the feedback!

Look, I watch both subbed and dubbed anime. I can appreciate it when something is actually better. Subbed DB is ruined by Nozawa making Goku sound like he's a 70 year old woman.

I wouldn't say her age is the reason since it's always been like this.

I agree, and I also thought along those lines many years ago until watching through the first Dragonball series where the voice fits and even though its weird he keeps the same voice through puberty its less jarring.

you got grandma Frieza instead

I like Nozawa and don't like Schemmel, lol.

I think Nozawa makes him sound a bit too childish, usually. I prefer the western characterization -- particularly the Ocean dub. I just make do with Schem, because he's kind of an extension of that. The only time I like Schem is when he's edging it up in his SSJ3 or SSJ4 voice. Otherwise, he sounds like an old man really hamming it up.

Cultural difference. Westerners want a manly protagonist.

Europeans grew up with manly Goku and the majority loves Nozawa though.

Maybe because we had the games where she was used, and because most versions kept her screams in.

So Goku had this Bruce Lee / Kenshiro vibe to him, high pitched screams and manly talking voice. Kinda cool actually.

Is DBZ still popular?

What's a DBZ ? Can you eat it ?

Fuck Japanese voices and English voices. Give me Catalonian dub!

Not gonna happen but somiar és gratis

At least we can put the japanese soundtrack on both PS4 and XBO in the background... 'cause the US bso is... unsetting if you have seen the anime with the original music.

Y'all hating on Nozawa are killing me.

One of the best and most iconic voice in anime industry.
I don't want to say the dubs are bad, but they don't fit the character at all. It's like goku has a complete different personality in the english dub.

I grew up with the old German dub, which was fine for what it is. Most of them put in a lot of effort. But I could never return after listening to the awesome Japanese voices.

I grew Up in Latin America, we got a manly Goku that did not need to overact every single sentence.

And I can still recognize Nozawa's ridiculous amount of talent.

I always had to play games with Schemmel's Goku as a kid, and it always sounds so forced and unnatural. Like the voice itself is VERY good but everything about his delivery feels exaggerated.

Japanese Goku definitely took some time to get used after watching the dub for so long.

I would definitely prefer Japanese voices, but if I had to listen to DBZ in eng, then TFS is a lot better then any official eng dub.
Not that they would actually go that route.

Nozawa is a masterful voice actress. It's jarring if you're not used to it, but she has so much range as Goku and the other character she voices it isn't even funny. Goku is supposed to be innocent and child-like, while Sean Schemmel makes him more adult-like. Sean Schemmel also only really has like...two ranges. One is his normal Goku voice, while the other is his "gruff" Goku voice he does for SSJ4. To be fair, his SSJ Rose Goku Black voice is pretty good but we'll see how that transitions to the show.

To me Nozawa IS Goku. Sean Schemmel is a good iteration of Goku.

Yeah, as I said, Nozawa is definitely better at catching the nuances of the character and is honestly the better voice actor, but I can understand why people don't like the voice itself, especially if they aren't used to it

Everyone who says they prefer Sean Schemmel over Nozawa has NEVER sit down and watched an entire Dragonball series in Japanese. You can bet on it. There's a reason why a lot of people have turned to Nozawa when watching Super due to being the only way to be up to date on it at the moment.
