Less than a month after bringing the heat to fans at the Destiny 2 Gameplay Reveal Event, Bungie and Activision have brought the highly anticipated game to the masses at E3, along with a slew of new goodies! First off, there's a new trailer, which you can watch right here.

There's also news to share as well! Destiny 2 is now slated to launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One earlier than expected, and is now scheduled for September 6. Also, the PC version will launch on October 24, and is now available to pre-order on Battle.net, Blizzard Entertainment's online gaming service.
Additionally, you can see the Arcstrider Hunter in action for the first time, featuring a super ability that summons an Arc-empowered staff that you can use for close-quarters melee combat. If you happen to be at E3, stop by the Activision Booth (South Hall #1001), the Sony Booth (West Hall #4322) to play an array of gameplay activities on the PlayStation 4 Pro, or come by the NVIDIA booth (West Hall #5230) to experience it on PC.
But don't worry if you're not at E3, because you'll soon be able to experience Destiny 2 for yourself. Players who pre-order† the game will be able to participate in the console beta beginning first on the PlayStation 4 on July 18 at 10am PDT, and on Xbox One beginning on July 19 at 10am PDT. After that pre-order early access period, the beta will open up to all PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players on July 21 at 10am PDT, and will conclude on July 23 at 9pm PDT. The PC beta is planned for late August, and we will have more details soon.

But that's not all! The PlayStation 4 timed exclusive* content for Destiny 2 has also been revealed at E3, which includes a competitive multiplayer map, a three-player cooperative Strike, a blue and white colored ship, legendary armor sets, and an exotic sniper rifle.
We hope to meet plenty of fellow Guardians during E3, and we'll look for you in the beta next month. There's still plenty of Destiny 2 information heading your way, so stay tuned throughout E3 and beyond!

This is depressing.

PC is the platform where bugs are more easily found and they delay both BETA and release?

Why is this allowed in the industry? Damn you, Bungie.

I was expecting a worse date for PC honestly...October 24th isn't terrible

I figured the PC Beta wouldn't be with the consoles so no surprise there. I'll just have to get a PS4 code by the 18th then so I can try it out.

Yeah it's clearly just not a priority. I don't care what they say.

Goddamnit, 70 bucks here.

Luke said they're going to try to get all versions aligned in terms of timing for events and things as quickly as they can.

Can they do it quickly enough that the game launches aren't two months apart?

Edit: I shouldn't complain, at least it's not the trending 'don't mention PC details at all until a week before release and then announce delay' approach we're seeing with AAA cross-platform releases on PC everywhere else

This sucks. I wanted everyone to be on equal footing when doing the raid/learning the new meta and all that stuff.

raid could very well not be released until after the PC version... they're always released a week or so after the main game/expansion, and although a month+ would be a bit of a stretch, it's not impossible...

Amazing, Destiny 2 costs 1800 Argentine Pesos for PC (about 100 dollars). That's the Standard Edition, mind. The other ones cost even more.
I'm sure they'll sell a lot with this pricing strategy.

"The team's working as fast as they can to get it done at the quality bar that we think the PC build needs to be at."

Those were his exact words to Geoff on the YT stream.

I have no doubt everyone involved is working 18 hour days already, it's AAA video game development after all

My hope is that they can move the release date forward if it reaches that point faster than they thought. A month and a half delay is rough, i'd just end up getting it on a console if I had one to buy it on.

This also might be the most expensive game I've ever seen on PC.

And we're not even priority.

Crazy days we live.

It's a wait but it's not too bad. I hope the beta goes well because I'll definitely wait a month for 60fps/Mouse aiming.

Now you know the prices Activision will use in Steam when they add the Argentine Peso.

I don't like any of this. Coming in a month+ late on PC is really going to hurt the experience. Xbox One X coming out 2 months after the game and still 30fps = lulz. PS4 exclusive strike and exotic again is dumb.

Such a bummer that they are still letting Sony steal content from other players, for an incredibly long time.

Happy that the delay is only 7 weeks, I was fully expecting 3+ months.

Still, though, another October game? My poor, poor wallet.

Well, see, if you buy it now then it's technically a June game and not an October game! You just gotta trick your wallet.

I'm building a new computer in a few weeks. My wallet weeps even in June.

I don't quite get why they decided to move it up randomly by two days. I think they know a ton of their fans already took that Friday off from work/school too.
