Yep, Crash 1 still feels like Crash 1. Analog is alright, but dpad feels right for this.

Same here, but then I'm of the minority opinion that the first is as good as the second, with the third being the slightly weaker of the bunch, due to the non-platforming levels.

1) It was said that the bosses and vehicle levels all default to whoever was in them originally. Only Crash rides Polar, Coco rides Pura, Crash goes underwater and rides the motorcycle, Coco rides the jetski, etc. I believe there was some ambiguity of whether the two could swap in Crash 3's biplane levels.
2) I'm about to find out now

Yup, died a bunch of times to easy stuff on analog then went digital and it feels perfect. The game looks and runs great. The extra little touches making 1 feel more like the latter entries, in terms of trappings, works really well. Just about done with island 1 and I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

So much Crash left to go.

I'm going back to it now that I've done a couple levels in 2 and 3. Those are the ones I grew up playing so it's nice to be pretty fresh on the first. We only played the first couple of levels back in the day. It seems a lot harder than the other two.

Hoping the game will be delivered today. Tried to ask what part of "One Day Delivery" using a 2 day service was and got off shore support being typically shite. Of course when I asked for a call back from higher up I was promised it and it didn't happen. When did Amazon CS turn from good to a bunch of cunts?

For the bouncy boxes, remember that you can just casually hold X to reach greater height.

You don't actually have to time jumps when you hit the box to get more height on them; if you do it that way you'll miss your jumps a lot kek.

And this goes for getting more height off tnt and regular boxes too.

Eugggh Amazon here too. Hadn't even reached my county until 11 last night. We'll see, if it's not here I'll just buy it somewhere else and return the Amazon copy. The good thing is it's fairly cheap everywhere.

the majority of the gems require getting the coloured gems from later levels first. There's only like three gems you can actually get on the first island (N.Sanity Beach, Boulders, Hog Wild) that don't require getting a coloured gem first.

I defeated Ripper Roo. The trophy popped. The animation played out. But Crash was over a Big TNT crate at the moment of Ripper's defeat so Crash was standing on top of a non-exploding Big TNT through the mini-scene afterwards.

Which lead him to drown after that when the TNT went over the waterfall (?).
