Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy |OT| N.Teresting and N.Tertaining N.Fographics With-N

This is such a joy to play. The difficulty in Crash 1 feels perfect to me. I'm a bit worried that 2 and 3 will be too easy now, I forgot exactly how they played.

Crash 1 is a solid foundation with extremely rigid level design and depth perception issues.

The moment you play 2 and are able to slide jump you never wanna go back to 1.

Youll definitely see the trophy percentages for 2 and 3 be higher than 1.

I've definitely been missing the slide jump in Crash 1. There's been many times I'd wanted to use it.

Right I'm missing something here because how the fuck do you Platinum the first level time trial?

What's worse is that I know younger me wouldn't have a problem but fucking hell the box bridge while invincibility is on = nope.

It's really sad, that's the kind of game that would really benefit from running at 60 fps. The jump timing it sometimes so tight that 30 fps bothers me.

Finally home.
Gonna play this beauty ALL WEEKEND FAM!

Dayum I loved Crash back in the day but there's no way in hell I got far in this game. Playing the remaster, I'm pretty far in Crash 1 but I can't even recognize most levels past world 1 lol. The difficulty level increased n sanely fast.

You also get extra health if you die too much and there are hints on the loading screens so yeah, it's definitely been made easier. Still much harder than people might be used to these days :)

The extra Aku Aku was always in Crash 1 after a few deaths afaik.

I feel like the hints on the loading screens are more of a QoL improvement than something that makes the game easier. The trilogy has quite a bit of nonsense that youd have to look up or do by chance.

Like telling you about the wumpa path in crash 1 to get to more boxes is much appreciated.

Oh, The Lost City is the hardest of the colored gems? Thank goodness, I thought they were all going to be that stressful.

Only took me like 4 tries, but it was waaaay too tense, especially the last two boxes.

Well, now that's a relief

Just when I went here to ask, I managed to do a complete flawless run (Even withou dying on the bonus stages)...

And then I messed up my last jump and couldn't activate the last 2 crates. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The last section of The Lab and the bonus stage for that level are pretty annoying. Thankfully the level is shorter than lost city.

After 20 years, I finally got all the boxes in fromtiger/coco level. YESSSSSSS.

Why, why, why is that intro unskippable?!

Who the fuck thought, "Yes, this is acceptable " and let that pass...

That also needs to be patched. Many games these days don't allow me to skip logos when I start the game which is also bad.

Yup, too me a good amount of times. Thankfully I found it a lot easier once I got used to using the directional buttons.

Analog control does not feel good in this. And usually I play 2D games with it, since I got so used to it, but this made me go back

Only played Crash 1 so far (first time):

- long load times
- unskippable intro
- native fortress level is fucking hard
- seem to have a lot of cheap deaths

Man, I thought I'd be having a better time playing this.

My god, nothing beats this feeling of conquering Crash 1

I love how Castle Machinery is designed to fuck with you, but it ain't shit after the hell you've gone through already. Damn I love Crash Bandicoot

Platinum on Crash 1 (14 plat, 12 gold relics), 100% on Crash 2.

I will take a break before getting relics on 2 and starting 3. Don't want to burn out and I was definitely starting to get frustrated at the end of 2.
For some reason I found Crash 2 harder than 1. Ended the first game with 98 lives, barely have 5 lives in 2.

Seriously, what is that factory level in the last warp room? You have to:
-get to the no death route
-go into the death route and die to save it (or risk losing the path in the rest of the steps), making you give up all masks
-finish the normal route
-go back to the death route through obstacles that are very difficult to go back through (if you didn't let a specific enemy live you can't go back)
-finish the death route to get the green !-crate.

Even the bonus level is weird. You have to get a !-crate then go back, but have to get past some nitro crates to get there. I only got past it because of a bug: Crash definitely touched the nitro crates for a second but they didn't blow up.

Phew, need a break.

It straight up tells you how to defeat some bosses (even the final in the first game). To a new player that would definitely be harder without knowing what to do beforehand.

Crash 1 actually has really cool atmosphere and the remade visuals are beautiful. I enjoy the challenge, but sometimes it's a bit much. Overall it's grown on me a lot.

Crash 3 might actually be the worst of the bunch. I don't know if VV ran out of time or the source material just didn't hold up, but it feels like a straight to dvd sequel. It's so bland compared to the other 2.

I was just trying to finish slippery climb normally but after so many tries I ended up actually getting the red gem! It completely took me off guard when it popped up lol

So many vehicle levels in 3. So many. I remember as a kid actually just wanting more levels where I ran around and jumped on stuff.

Crash 1 is such a motherfucker of a game. I hate it and I love it. I've revisited it a couple of times in recent years so it's not a complete shock to me, but nothing can really prepare you for the depths of this game's depravity. Now that there's a sweet, sweet Plat on the line I'll probably push myself to 100% it for the first time in my life. Then never want to play it again, I imagine.

The visuals are gorgeous. Like, almost too gorgeous. They nailed the CG look so hard that it feels like I'm playing a target render. It took me a few levels to get over the dissonance I was feeling.

Haha. I lost my last life out of 17 when I saw the end if that level yesterday. During the five last lifes I was already yelling at the tv, and my girlfriend asked me after I finally threw these controller on the table "are you heaving fun playing video games?"
Yep. Up to that point I was. Gonna give it a new go today when im not quite so sleepy.

The remake thus far makes sense and feels really faithful. My guess is that the load times will get patched, and that we eventually will see a 60fps mode patches into the game.

Finished Crash 1 yesterday.

Not gonna lie, didn't really enjoy it. It's just so frustrating on many parts. It does hold a certain nostalgia value for me though, since it was the first Crash game I ever played, but apart from that it just isn't a very good game.

Started Crash 2 today, and already enjoying it a lot more!

Also, DO NOT press the touch pad when on pause menu. It will quit the level/game. Such a weird design choice (or flaw?), hopefully will get patched.

That's actually from the classic games. Pressing Select from the pause menu was how you quit levels in Crash 1 (and I think it worked in 2 and 3 as well).
