Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy |OT| N.Teresting and N.Tertaining N.Fographics With-N

I think there are problems with this collection. I have no problems on doing some section on the original Crash, while I have a lot of problems doing the same segment in the remastered.
It feels like there are some collision problems and input lag.

You mean the three fire pot jump? Jump into the background on the second one.
No it's the jumps from one platform to the next amidst the burning platforms and the moving obstacles; especially when there is a plant at the opposite end, I just cannot time the jump and Crash will either fall off the edge or get hit by the wooden shit..

Now, Aku Aku in Crash 1 is completely useless, enemies are practically not a problem at all... it should provide air walking to be meaningful.

I'm actually enjoying Crash 1 a whole lot. Aside from Road to Nowhere and High Road. Those levels are just absolute garbage. The game does show its age and design flaws at times, but most of the time it's still enjoyable enough that I can ignore them. These bridge levels however... I dunno how anyone could have even designed this and thought "yeah, that's a good level, let's keep it".

Having a great time otherwise though! I'm looking forward to playing 2 and Warped. I just gotta actually beat High Road first though. This is gonna take a while.

I haven't noticed input lag (though I'm on Crash 2 first). The issue I've had is almost every jump has to be near pixel perfect, and unless you land completely on a platform, it's death. And the jump distance is just barely enough to complete any given gap.

I agree with this 100%. There are moments in Crash 2 where you get squished or set on fire and it just takes away Aku Aku. In Crash 1 you lose a life automatically... and have to go back to the checkpoint. Boo.

Was Whole Hog always an optional level in the original? I beat the game and wanted to go back to try some earlier levels and saw I completely avoided Whole Hog.

They did a great job with the remaster, but I sadly just don't find Crash 2 much fun so far. I also have Destiny The Taken King and Witcher 2 on the go, and I can't pry myself away from them for this. It's kind of just boring and frustrating IMO. I enjoyed them as a kid.

Yeah, you unlock it by getting the key from Sunset Vista's Cortex bonus round. There's no indication it opens a new level though.

Got to road to nowhere. Damn it's a hard level. Had to backtrack to get farm extra lives. Went to the Lost City and try for the Gem, get all boxes and no deaths, and was surprised how many extra lives you get from finishing the level. With both bonus around 10 live. If you only go as far as Nirtrus Brio bonus stage, easy 6 lives in about 5 minutes. Got to 99 in less than 1 hours.

LOL beat it. wasn't too bad. Let with 92 lives still. Gonna do the time trial now see if I can get good.

After the High Road bullshit level now comes Slippery Climb. Where the hell is the checkpoint?!

There is a pity checkpoint near the start. It's a regular box in a window ledge for the first few lives and then becomes a checkpoint after a few deaths.

After that there's a big gap bit there are more checkpoints.

Guys I'm confused. I just beat Ripper Roo in Crash 2, but then it just throws me back into the warp room like nothing happened. Is a new portal supposed to open or something? It's been too long for me to remember. lol

Stand in the middle circle and press up.

And that's 100% in Crash 1. What a nice game. May come back for the relics after Crash 2 and 3.

Just hit that point myself. Still a great game and easier than the original in this version. It might still be my favorite of the trilogy due to the pure platforming focus and challenge, but no doubt the second one is awesome as well.

The Lost City can bite me.

I love this collection but damn if Crash 1 isn't as frustrating as it was then. (Guess that means they did a good job)

Just wasted a ton of lives in Crash Crush in 2. There's an optional spot where you have to slide under an electric fence and immediately jump. I don't know why but i can NOT time this at all. It's really dead simple but I keep getting fried.

I basically bought a PS4 Pro for this game (mostly due to nostalgia) and playing through Crash 1 is like:

Having to break all the crates in some of the levels without dying is bullshit and not fun. Especially when if you die, you have to quit out to the map and then restart the level, meaning you have to go through two load screens. That's shitty game design. Just put a fucking restart option on the pause menu.
