Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy |OT| N.Teresting and N.Tertaining N.Fographics With-N

Loving the game so far, but what's with the long unskippable intro sequence? I can't believe stuff like that still happens.

Yes, it's really annoying. I hope VV address this (along with long loading times and adding a restart option) in a future patch

So I finally got past the bit I was stuck on in Native Fortress (IT'S NOT OVER) and: why does the game put a section that requires you moving in the Z-axis in a level that, except for the beginning, has been entirely focused on 2D platforming? Fuckin' Naughty Dog

It was a brilliant intro the first time but after a few times I agree it gets a bit tedious. I suspect the reason it's unskippable is because it's hiding some extra loading times.

I skipped most of Crash 1 to save the frustration for later. Turns out that all the games are frustrating!

Getting the box gem on Cold Hard Crash is just...eurgh. That death path is killing me. Made it through the death path the be swept up in the momentum of the ice and be unable to turn around and backtrack for that box I made appear from the ! block at the end.

Twice.

Eurrrrrgh.

Body slam as soon as you get past the crushers before the ! Box. It kills your momentum completely.

I just 100%'d Crash 2. It's still my favourite thing ever.

So for Crash 2 I shouldn't bother with Time Trials until the end, right?
Tried running through Turtle Woods and I'm nowhere near fast enough. =

The pop-off! Which Relic did you go for last?

I actually just went through in level order. The High Road was the hardest because it super finicky and difficult even when cheating. =
The ones after that were remarkably easy compared to that.

There is some definite jank in Fumbling in the Dark though. There's a small platform just before the first rats that seems to slow you down a little.

And later there's a section where you need the rats to spin away into a far away box so you can light the last bit of level... and the rats sometimes just don't spawn.

Bear in mind I did NOT go for Platinum relics as I don't have the time or patience to do so on my days off. Its supposed to be relaxing! =P

Time to go for what will probably make or brake the platinum trophy: high road relic...

I can give you a pointer for High Road: hop on and off the rope only for jumps you can't make alone.

Unless you can absolutely master walking on the rope then its not worth the effort.

I went for Gold and it was still super tight. =

Ripper Roo is a terrible boss fight, damn. It just comes down to trial and error which just isn't fun once you've figured out what to do and keep having to do it because of a late-stage death.

There's no trial and error, observe and you'll see that he follows a certain pattern every time you hit him. Just stay out of his way and you'll beat him easily.

He is a simple boss with a clear pattern. Not sure what's terrible about him.

He jumps on certain platforms in each phase and never changes his pattern.

I'd say the hardest relics are:
Sunset Vista
Native Fortress
High Road

Sunset is just ridiculously long, but Native Fortress was my least favourite. The hazards would be at a different part of their cycle every time I got to them, sometimes not even in sync with each other. That whole level felt like a load of RNG bullshit.

Sorry, I should have said he's too simple for you to be repeating it every time you die. Once you've figured out what his path is and what crates to jump on for the first two phases it's just not fun when you have to do the same thing again as you try to figure things out for the third. Maybe terrible was an overstatement, but it wasn't good.

Why can't I just restart the level on a crate run? Why do I need to quit and sit through 2 overly long loading screens? The game has a huge emphasis on collectibles, a detailed animation of all missed crates at the end of a level, yet the actual process for crate hunting is cumbersome as hell. I don't get how this never came up in like the most basic game testing.

I've deciced I'm not going to start going for plats until 3, as it was my favorite, but I still wanted to beat 1 and 2 first before playing it. Can't wait. Loved the challenge of the 1st, and 2 is just plain and simple fun.

Ahhhh, finally beat Crash 1. Now onto my favorite game in the series!

It feels like a cool, cool breeze blowing on a cool spring day, especially after beating 1.

It is annoying, but you know it's only necessary for the coloured gems right? You're allowed to die for the rest.

After banging my head against The High Road to no avail, I have decided to move on to Cortex Strikes Back. The immediate difference in quality is striking! I feel like I have so much more control over Crash, and I'm so happy to have muh slide. They should have shoved the slide into Crash 1. Crash 1 doesn't give me enough, but Crash 2 gives me everything I could hope for.

Slippery Climb yeah... Absolutely every jump is the world cup final.

I find hilarious how the game throws me an Aku Aku mask after some deaths, like "here, this will help". Bless you Aku Aku, I wouldn't know what to do without you...

Still no small feat, congrats! I haven't gotten to The High Road or Fumbling in the Dark yet. Not looking forward to it :(

As far as the ropes go, I still haven't gotten it down. I swore I'd abuse them for Road to Nowhere, but found it easier to just clear normally by the end. Every time I swing for the ropes, I just die trying.

Crash 3 achievement question: What am I supposed to do for
That moment of zen? I know it has something to do with the monkeys in the pots in the egypt levels,
I just dunno what I'm supposed to do exactly

Dammit.... 1:15:30 was the best time I could do after 45 minute of trying (need 1:13). Screwed up on the last jump and had to bounce thrice on that last turtle.

I got Native Fortress and Sunset Vista already, so I just need to get past this...

Edit: Got it. Yuussss. I guess a gold isn't that impressive but I'm happy.

I can't do rope cheese properly either. Even if I manage to stand on it, I somehow slip to my death seconds later..

Keep dodging until they stop flinging things at you. Then kill them.

Just got the Native Fortress Relic, actually. Felt like:

In reality, it was more like:

As far bullshit, my favorite were the turtles at the beginning. I'd spin the back one to kill the front one to save time, but I swear that sometimes the back turtle would not kill the front turtle when I did the very same spin (or super close), leaving me the bag to recover and hit the front one before impact. I lost this battle several times.

Damn I still cNt beat native fortress.. the part with the three torch always gets me. Im seconds away from throwing my controller to my tv. Lord help me
Try playing that level with a 10 month old on your lap "helping" by either dragging the analogue stick just when it's critical to get jumps right or pressing the PS home button.

Needless to say she won and I ended up deciding to postpone operation "Get daughter liking gaming" for a bit!

Are you all trying to beat the games before getting the collectables for them or are you doing it for each game before moving to the next?
