Yeah, I think he's the arsonist, or someone that isn't town at the very least.

Launch's vote just seemed like a mistake as he said. Meaning to follow Kark's no lynch but voting for Zubz instead. I don't think anything is amiss there.

So while I may have made a flippant joke (sorry about that), let's not be flippant about this.

You're 1) advocating for a blanket "let's just lynch somebody" policy today, which is not uncommon, but

2) you are trying to establish a standard where we don't really have to look at or commit to an alignment today, because "it doesn't matter" or something.

I think there is some psychological basis in saying that people who might have something to lie about are going to try to not commit to a statement where they might have to lie. Thus why you seem to be playing with this idea of nobody claiming alignment. Even if it's a minor point, it's there.

Why would the arsonist ever need to make showy plays? Thats a weird contingency to make, especially for a role that doesn't really hinge their wincon on what's happening by day.

Sure, I think anybody reading the thread can see what happened. I think you know that you've lied, sorry "gambited", a bit too much and now you've been called out seriously by somebody, you're doubling down on that person with very little evidence because you know it's the only defence left that you have.

I've presented my arguments and I've placed my vote, so what happens now I'm OK with

And to answer your question Fran. I scum read Kark. His behavior thus far has been to run out the clock by stalling and no lunches, contributing very little beyond his gambits to nowhereand in general has been playing an anti-town game. Also the justification for this Aco push makes little sense to me.
 
Doesn't every Kark gambit go the same way? Annoys everyone with it, and then finally comes clean with some sort of justification. It's like those YouTube guys who go "it's just a prank" and try to laugh it off.

Honestly? I'm a bit uncertain where to go next. I came into this day planning to put the screws to Launchpad, but he's been acting the town part as the day went on. I'm thinking of unvoting him, something I was convinced wouldn't happen at day's start.

The Karkador plan seems like something within the realm of possibility, so I'm hesitant to jump on him. It seems like exactly the sort of thing someone with a vanilla role might pull to try to leverage their expendable status. Hell, the no lynch shenanigans attracted you, Zubz, and... rac? Nin for a while? I don't want to alarm you, rac, but I think you may be the next beneficiary of the no lynch curse.

acohrs was on my scum list, as you may see later, but I'm having trouble parsing exactly what this latest fight with Kark was over. Seems to doubt Kark, which isn't necessarily a scum position. Most people don't like having their chain jerked. Might be flailing, as Kark says. But is the flailing a scum move to take Kark down or the moves of someone pushed into the thunderdome?

There's a few people I hold a small suspicion against (LP, Kalor) pushing against Corn. This is either me being totally wrong about them, about Corn, or IT'S ALL CONNECTED KALOR IS SNAKE. i.e. I don't have jack on that front.

If you're not willing to read into what I'm saying, that's fine. It's your subjective opinion. I disagree that I have "contributed very little".

Objectively, though, your claim that I'm "running the clock" has no basis. I'm #6 in post count. I'm sorry, but if your charge is that I'm wasting your time by posting a lot and getting us nowhere, then I suggest you also look at the 5 other people ahead of me on that.

And if you're going to say "well, those Top 5 are obviously pulling more weight than you", then what can we say about you with nearly half their posts?

My "running the clock" comment has nothing to do with how much you're posting. Rather, I'm referring to your tendency this game to waste town's time on gambits that seem to benefit no one but yourself and your own amusement. You spent a huge portion of D1 on your no lunch push and again tried it on D2. Here we are D3 and your "calling bluffs" on players for what... how exactly did that pay off? Somehow aco is the arsonist??

I'm trying to understand how this has been useful time spent. I see no one else other than Blarg playing this way and he's actually gotten to the point quicker than you.

Disagree or agree that's what I'm saying.

I shot off a flare above acohrs' supply cache and Kark's starving eyes lit up with the hope, see? Kark regards my acohrs push as his best way out of Today. Along with the plainest Role-claim ever. He's attempting to escape along the safest route.

But I'm actually inclined to BELIEVE in his intentions. Why would a Mafia fake-claim Doused?

I can think of a couple:

1) As a complete fabrication of the arsonist role. If each mafia player keeps claiming doused the next day, there's enough panic set in to distract from scumhunting.

or

2) As a sort of proxy douse claim. One mafia member gets doused, they might decide for another mafia player to claim it, maybe someone better at deflection. If someone acts weird about it, they may have then found the arsonist.

Mafia would publicly push to find the arsonist if one of their own was doused.

I'm not entirely sure if this is what we have here, but I'd like to aim elsewhere to make them sweat a bit.

If we can force mafia to shoot their suspected arsonist, even better.
 
I really don't like the idea of trying to kill the arsonist instead of scum. What happens if we lynch Kark and he is truly a vanilla townie? Will we spend all day 4 still looking for the arsonist? Scum will be happy to do it, as it takes the pressure out of them and also could make them look active and cooperative.

I don't like his vote day 1. The reasons was weak, the mistake was more weak and the timming was suspicious. He voted Zubz when his lynch was lossing steam and Cewyn's was seen as a better option.

I won't be around for day's end. So this will be probably my definitive vote today.
 
I know it seems scummish to just kinda tag along with someone like that, but I honestly don't have much original thought to put behind this vote. Everyone else has talked it out to death and I felt like just talking wouldn't really add much. I've been reading, just... There hasn't been much for me to add. I think Krack is the Arsonist, still, but I don't like the way Launch looks.
 
I would like to go on the record that I'm sure, while I'm too gay for him, Launchpad is probably a fairly nice looking man. I just don't like the way he looks scum-wise. ;)
