I beat Persona 5 and listened to the spoilercast. I'm in total agreement with their thoughts except for Alex's dislike of (story spoilers)
the post-casino plot twist
. That's a contender for best moment/sequence of the year for me. Yeah, it's convoluted, but the way it plays out was exciting as hell.

I think it's more that it was over explained

I dunno, i didn't mind it but i could see his point.

Is the Spoilercast a downer overall?

I need a significantly less emotionally draining game to play now that I've finished Fata Morgana and I don't know what that is yet.

It was over explained because it took alot of fancy footwork to make it all make sense in context of the game. I loved the sequence and enjoyed the explanation, but it was too much all at once tbh. It does work, but you get an hour long lecture on the mechanics. Sometimes you just want it all to just work, but that plot device being a magic maguffin would have probably upset people more than the lecture.

I feel like if anything needs a 30 minute long convoluted as hell explanation, then it probably wasn't that cool to begin with.

Yep

Rule of cinema. Present something in a manner that is clear to the viewer.

Like...take usual suspects. Guy drops coffee mug. We see the name "Kobayashi" on the mug. We get snippets of what Kevin Spaceys character said imposed over the case photos. Thats it. We dont get the detective telling us over 20 text boxes what happened and why it happened.

Persona 5 is a bad story.

Yeah I actually enjoyed the explanation too personally. Maybe you could have somehow cut 5 minutes but like you said I can picture the backlash otherwise.

someone purchased House Party and put in my steam folder

I want a PUBG map with insane weather

like can't see past a few feet in a thunderstorm and you get lightning storms that murder you if you go outside so you have to run house to house. kinda like these

There rarely is rain in the current map, and its hard to hear shit so it legit changes the dynamics of how you shoot or move. I like it alot. I can do for thunder and heavy fog/rain

I don't think my soul
or tear ducts
can handle much more at this point.

I played like S;G 0, Night in the Woods, both Niers and Fata Morgana in like a relatively short time period together.

You can throw in The Last Guardian from last year too I guess.

I still kinda want more?

Maybe I'll go replay Persona 3 Fes.

Well, you have to make it halfway through FES to get to the real depressing bits and out of the rest you've played, I'd say Fata is by far the most emotionally draining. I did pick up Root Letter and Danganronpa Reload recently so I might play those...or play the Vita version of S;G...but tbh Fata Morgana drained me.

It's by far the best VN I've experienced and I will go hard for Steins;Gate.

Was the recent east coast drunk stream good? Been super behind on giantbomb stuff and haven't actually seen either of the new people in content yet.

For the first time I ever I want to re-download Max Max on steam.

Made it to the third Island in Crash Bandicoot remaster.

Watching BiTE and calling it a night.

Have a great 4th of July, GBGaf and if you're not American, well I hope you have a spectacular Tuesday.

What if I don't want to have an idea on what the new hires are like man.

What if I don't want to put people into a box man.

Cos' that's what The Man wants you to do man.

I'm just wondering if it's impossible to hire someone in the video game industry who doesn't like wrestling.

What's up with that?

I don't think it works and it kind of cheats.

You can't suddenly turn on the unreliable narrator and then immediately turn it off again when you've done your twist.

Moreover the death fake out doesn't really take the story anywhere it wasn't already going. Akechi is obviously a narc. Sae is obviously coming around on the Phantom Thieves the more of the story she hears. The whole fake death and aha we knew all along seems like a shocking moment for the sake of it. Plus it's especially bizarre when later it works against the game trying to redeem Akechi.

What games are good for 4 people on PS4? Have some friends over tomorrow.

Another vote for Overcooked.

Man, Mad Max was a good game was it? Really enjoyed my time with it.

Very good. It felt like a Whiskey Media stream.

For as many crazy wrestling moments there are in Yakuza 0, pissed off Kiryu just straight up socking Kuze in the face is the hypest moment in the game so far.
