Loving this game but the matchmaking sucks so hard. I was in a game with a couple of players who were insanely good. High level too. So of course the game kept matching those two up together over and over again, even though my team was level 4-9 and the other team were 7-14. We got wrecked every time.

Sooo, what is the cheapest way to connect my headphones to pc and switch?
The PC solution is probably the simplest... The problem is that you need a mixer, not just a cable. If your headphones are cheap, and you can do some basic electronics, you can do something using capacitors, but don't use just a Y cable, you may damage either your PC or your Switch.

I used a male to male aux cable to plug my Switch's audio output into my desktop's mic input,
Unless I'm mistaken, you should use line input, not mic input, though. (Happy to see a Debian user btw ;) on related matter, I've had headaches with Pulse, recently, bring back Alsa :) )

Rank sucks because it's with a bunch of randoms. Only reason I'm playing it is to try to unlock league play.
Well, I unlocked league play by reaching B- on the current rotation, but I'll probably stay with random since I don't know a single person that play the game :/

Most people have no idea how to play this game.
Yes, sometimes, that's strange... I probably make a lot of mistakes, too, but at least I have a basic idea of the objectives.

There's one thing that annoys me, but that's maybe subtle for the average player. DON'T get the rainmaker when you're in the lead in the last seconds if you just made the enemy drop it. The only result is offering the enemy extra time (extra time happen if the team in the lead is the one that dropped it last). I already lost twice because of this, that's annoying. Or if you get the rainmaker a couple meters from your base, there's several opponents around, you're leading in the score, I'd also say suicide is the best solution.

Mr. Grizz, you pay too well. ;-;

wait what? How do you know that's the comparison? Cause that's insane if that is how it is.

The naming conventions are a little weird, what with Pay Grade (Grizz Co.) and Difficulty Rating (The Shoal) being both %s. Just subtract 100 from Pay Grade and you'll have a rough idea what the Difficulty Rating is.

so uh

What are the rewards even supposed to be? I got two food tickets yesterday from the regular capsules, but all my "super rewards" have been coins lmao

Oh god B-tier is roughhhhhhh.
Last night playing Rainmaker in ranked I was doing really well and was on a winstreak. Got to the rank up and apparently you can skip ranks, I went from C- to B-.

The difference in matches was dramatic. Like completely different strategies used and stuff. I almost felt like I was out of my depth. Mind you I did manage to win 50% of matches or something so I guess I wasn't doing THAT bad.

So I JUST finished Hero Mode aka Single Player.

I loved it. Liked it a lot more than Splatoon 1's Hero Mode, although I think I like the final boss of 1 better than 2, not saying 2 isn't amazing.

Although with the replayability of weapons in Splatoon 2 that could change in the future.

The Goldie hide and seek level in Salmon Run fucking sucks. There's never enough time to find it and collect enough eggs.

Ugh, bumped into this one yesterday and wholeheartedly agree. I don't think anyone else on my team knew what we were supposed to be doing either.

And then Grizz says something about it hiding in the one with the brightest light?

This tier feels like whose sniper can control the zone the best.

I can see why inkbrush is better now because using the octobrush special is like near suicide.

True enough, I noticed snipers in every game in B tier. The only exception was in splatzones. But I don't think it's quite as useful on some of those maps.

Got to 200% and immediately lost it thanks to that godawful Heavy Splatling. can they stop putting shitty weapons in salmon run pls

Told myself to wait to buy this but after watching and enjoying many streams then having the music stuck in my head while I was at work I knew I needed it sooner rather than later. Downloading now.

Apparently. Good luck figuring out which one it is though.

Shops refresh every night. I believe once you are higher level, higher level gear starts appearing. You can also buy some early from the Switch App on phones and doing Salmon Run.

Thanks! Salmon Run unlocks new gear? Or is it a reward?

Look at all inklings in your plazza on a regular basis. If you see something you like, order it.

Once you reach rank B, there's even more people with cool gear.

Cool, I should play ranked ^^

Salmon Run's results screen music 'Ever Further' is the best track in the game. <3

Apparently. Good luck figuring out which one it is though.

I know! They all look the fucking same. I thought it was that we had to activate them all at once. (Which presumably would have to work regardless of Mr Grizz's nugget of wisdom)

How does Rainmaker work? My team won and I came 2nd but I had no clue what I was doing or how I was scoring points. Is it about how many kills you get with the rainmaker? I went up to the enemy base at one point and there was a pyramid structure but couldn't figure out what to do.

You put the Rainmaker on the opponent's pyramid. If neither team does that before time is up, whichever team held the Rainmaker the longest wins.

I hate Moray Towers. 90% of the time you end up on a team of idiots who jump to the middle to a quick death while ignoring the other team inking up your ramps.

ITs about getting the rainmaker to the goal. Either you get it all the way or whoever moves it closest.

There isnt any more where winning is based on killing.

I didn't play this for 24 hours due to frustration. Today I decided to give it another go:

Those are screens from 3 out 3 matches I played today.

For me, this is not fun. It is pure frustration.

There's a report feature in the splatnet app if you go to match history. Inactivity is one of the given reasons. I've been using it quite regularly.

I haven't seen that many disconnexions, but give it a bit more time. Once you're at higher levels, I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen often (especially in ranked).

This has been my experience as well. Level 10 now and still happens almost every third game. It's ridiculous and extremely frustrating. Matches need to be restarted if a player drops out within thirty seconds of starting. It's usually a low level player too, but I keep getting matched with level 1s and 2s even now.

Thanks. Ah, so I need to climb atop the pyramid? That's what I was doing wrong. I just tried activating it from the side and using the rainmaker on it.

I posted last night but didn't get an answer ;\ is there any kinda math/analysis behind boosts, i.e. swim speed? Like how much does it improve your base swim speed? 20%? And how do the sub-abilities stack with a main swim speed ability? Been looking at Squidboards but can't find much on it.

Also - Salmon Run blows today. Heavy Splatling is just absolute shit. Super hard to kill the head-balloon things.

You know... you jackasses... you can't stay in the canon the whole time. Right? I mean god damn.
I was yelling at my screen earlier at some idiot who was sitting in the cannon the entire wave and didn't do much to help. Even when all three of us were down he just stayed in there until he was overwhelmed. What I would have given for built-in voice chat at that point in time..
