You need to truly build experience with each weapon to see it's true potential. There is incredible balance to all the weapons. You will learn to fear skilled ink brush players.

I've noticed this so far, but the balancing seems spot on so far. It's quite impressive but of course, the designers gave themselves a bit of leeway with prebuilt kits.

I don't get how you can be higher than level 4 and still not understand how to play the game. It's the easiest concept on earth. I'm still seeing people who are level 10 failing to understand that this isn't deathmatch. Good lord.. I need to stop playing with randoms this is getting frustrating.

Aero spray in turf war really helps you carry and come back if need be, it's nice outside of it's obvious downside of kill potential compared to other shooters

But nice for turf war I suppose

But what if everyone is using the Aerospray MG?

I've been seeing that thing so often -- regularly two or three in one team -- that I sincerely hope they nerf its special or something. It's getting ridiculous.

I think this actually is a good choice.

I love that if you have 8 people fighting it out, its going to swap em around.

So maybe there is a person who is really jacking you up all the time, sometimes he will be on your team and you'll bro it out.

Same with friends. I don't want to be fighting teams of friends, super coordinated and working together all the time.

I love the randomness of Splatoon and the silence of it.

Nope I'd much rather play with the person I'm trying to play with than join a bunch of dipshit randoms.

In my last 20 games there’s only been myself and 6 others

Variance :p but yeah if everyone is using one I would just die of laughter and say fuck it this is the life now

musselforge zones god damn

that and reef are the standout splat zones maps for me so far. I love how they did the center of both of those maps

What type of games should I like to like Splatoon 2? I'm so unsure if I should get it!

There's not really much like it persay. In terms of similar feel I would say Titanfall 2 since the single player in both games gave me similar feelings and the general high level of creativity and flexibility in mechanical design is similar across both games.

Splatoon 2 makes me feel more like a kid than any game since like... Skies of Arcadia (I’m 31).

I can almost feel my mom yelling at me to get off the TV. all 3 game modes are great and different enough that switching between them can make for some long play sessions.

My only hope is for more map selection. I love the towers level, showcases how unique splatoon is and is super fun to navigate. I thought I was gonna hate it at first

Curse the connection errors, I was gonna go on a glorious tear with esteemed Gaffer Neiteio but the powers that be denied the match halfway through when business was picking up.

On that note, it's bizarre how sudden the connection errors are in this game, it's not jumping about with teleporting characters or off hit detection before conking out, nope it's just playing fine and decides "actually nah".

It will be fun to see new players experiences. But I fully expect plenty more "GET ON THE TOWER!!" and "GRAB THE DAMN RAINMAKER!!!" Posts.

I want in on those matches honestly. I've got no problem getting on the Tower, so my team can play the defense all they want. I haven't played much, though, so maybe down the road.

There's really nothing like it.

The only one I can thing of is Mario Sunshine. Lol

Technically it is the literal opposite of Spatoon. Like your old man Mario is the janitor who has to clean up between each Splatfest and the kids have had all their fun.

But I get where you're coming from mechanically.

If I were to buy this strictly for offline play, what modes would be available to me?

Single player (wich is only like 6 hours long altho playing through all stages with all weapons+collecting the collectibles can make that alot longer) and local multiplayer but that needs multiple switch devices to done same for salmon run.

So honestly while the singleplayer is good and all for 60$ it's alot so imo not worth it for that alone. If you never intend playin online however i do suggest buying it still later when it's cheaper cuz imo the sp deserves a playthrough but it's just not worth full price for that alone half of that or 20$ is tho imo.

So just one mode the story.
It is pretty unique tho just not worth 60$ if that's all you can play.

A gift for you and the rest of SplatGAF for your Tower Control troubles...

In b tier most of the Japanese players really don't like to get on the tower, but that's because getting on it means near certain death of you stay on it too long.

The game at that point is all about a matter of inches as everyone scouts ahead to win the land war first.

Played a bit of ranked and struggled out of c- to b-

Ranked it's serious business I get nervous. I wiped a team for a comeback win though that was fucking rad

Leveling is simply based on how much you play, not how good you are, and tons of kids are probably playing this game. This might be the closest thing to a deathmatch their parents will let them play, so I can see where some kids might ignore the turf war aspect to focus on killing opponents.

Just picked this up. Also saw the new boy and girl inkling amiibos, but didn't see any info on if they can be used in Splatoon 2 on their pages and if they offered anything else from the originals.

I'll probably start with single player until I nail the motion controls, which took getting used to in the testing.

Most of the new players (almost everyone) is trying to kill the other team.

That is not what this game is about.

This is why we lose.

Agreed. Actually, my strategy may seem lame to most but I just stay back from the others and start painting areas and not worrying about the other team until I approach them.

Completely agree. I very rarely play any game for longer than an hour at a time, but I've played multiple three hour plus sessions on Splatoon 2 since friday.

The new maps will come pretty quickly don't worry, I reckon we'll get a new one this week actually.

I was supposed to quote Nazgul here.

No that's the best way. I actually avoid the majority of confrontations, if someone is shooting at me I swim away.

My kills come from flanking people, or killing people from behind when they're engaged with someone else.

My aim is not to kill anyone, but to stay alive as long as possible. If you die 4 or 5 times that's a shit load of time from the 3 minute match that you're not gaining "p".

You can actually see from the first 3 seconds that you're gonna have a be time when they all just rush forward in a straight line towards the middle and you end up having to paint the whole base by yourself.
Never won a match with such players...

Sometimes i almost get frustrated but then i remember its a kids game so im either playing with kids or gaffers either way you cant expect much

I disagree. Getting a good foothold at the start in the middle area is far more important once enough of your base is inked that people can get there, which happens naturally if you each go a separate path to the centre..
